Our senior players seem to be having senior citizen moments in every important game that we have played this year. If we look at series again Aussies in UAE to the tour of Srilanka, i dont recall any consistency in seniors batting. If one senior score runs then the rest of thems dont and put that puts extra pressure on new players. I think we have had enough from them and its time PCB should take a bold step and ask them to retire or atleast retire from odi. We need to build our team for this up coming World Cup and the condition( :moyo ) our seniors are in right now, i dont think they will be around by then so its better to start gromming some new players from now on and show some faith in them.
Seniors that need to go :misbah :moyo :naved :yk
People will argue Younis is a great Captin but i would say he is a bigger liability as a batsmen then a smart captin. Afridi is much younger and agressive, and he is never shy of taking chances unlike younis khan. Most of the seniors have passed their prime and should be replaced or our people will start to lose interest in this great game of cricket as losing against good teams is becoming our habit.

thats excatly what i think that these players should retire........younis khan, yousuf and misbah are not needed in the pakistan team anymore and they should gracefully retire and give upcoming youngsters a chance so we can build for the 2011 world cup......these seniors are passed they prime and stopping upcoming pakistan talents to show of their skills......
for example we have many talented players waiting for their opportunities like: ahmed shezad, talha, Rameez Aziz (little lara), ghani, anwar ali, jamsehd ahmed, shaziab hasan, nasir jamshed - to name a few............................................... ...

NASHUKRAY LOG HO TUM you people are so emotional please please look at south africa and srilanka the best teams in the world and didnt even reach semies whats wrong with you people back up your team rather the criticising shame on you. Pakistan team is playing so well mashallah losing one game doesnt make any difference. please take it easy. i hate when pakistan start winning games and some people say we gonna win this champion trophy or worldcup how do youi know why are you so sure about it. only ALLAH knows what is going to happen and then you people start swearing and give stupid comments. some of you say pakistan will win this match but never say INSHALLAH, at the end then when pakistan lose then you are not willing to accept the defeat and you start on blaming team who have played fantastic cricket. face the reality and reality is that no team in the world gonna keep on winning if this happens then ????? you know what i mean.

you can't just throw kids into the team and expect miracles. younis has done a great job and wanting him to retire is pathetic. yousuf should say goodbye, misbah doesn't need to, he's gone anyway.

I think we need to give up on the idea of having a proper opener for one dayers and 20-20s especially when we don't have any one good enough to stake a claim; need to have afridi and akmal open, yousef at number 3, malik at number 4, younis at number 5 (inzi's role), umar at numer 6, razzaq or rana at number 7, amir at number 8, gul at number 9, ajmal at number 10, asif at number 11.
It doesn't mater if it is a bowling pitch or batting pitch. Having too many allrouders will hurt us in both conditions. 4 seemers and 3 spinners should be good for any condition.

well thats a dream!! yousaf does not like to bat at 3.....
i think malik is not a middle order batsman at all!!i would rather play umal akmal at 4!!

People suffer from short term memory loss. After T20, we all reveling how great Younus was. He was Captain Marvel. Also seem to be forgetting its cause of him there is some sort of harmony in the dressing room. Cause of him not being afraid to drop a player, he brought in guys like Aamer and Umar Akmal.
You cannot drop Younus. He is proven class and averaged 40 in the past 2 years prior to his blip. He will come good eventually. Yousaf is coming after a long lay off, and people seem to once again forget his knock vs India. To me, he was the biggest reason for getting 300. He kept the scoreboard ticking to release pressure off Malik.
Misbah, for long time I been advocating his drop. Rana, is a good squad player but not an all rounder unfortunately. Nazir, is the most useless player in the team. Hopefully people realize that ICL is nothing, considering they see how these guys performing now and how they tore apart ICL.

I simply don't understand why are you saying that Yousuf should retire from ODIs atleast. He resumed his career in SL tour after 18 months. Whereas he scored a brillant hundred on his comeback. He also made 90 runs in a innings where he got invovled in a run out which could have also been another hundred for him as well. His average in test series was somewhere in 40s. Now moving to ODI series, I think he only played 3 matches whereas he struggled to get runs. His highest score in ODI series was 43 whereas other two scores were below 10 I believe. Throughout SL series he struggled alot especially against the spinners (Herath, Mendis etc). Then he played CT whereas he was highest run scoring for Pakistan in whole tournament scoring 200 runs at an average of 50. Furthermore, he is fourth highest run scorer in CT (2 runs behind third Paul Collingwood). Against West Indies he was in great touch whereas he was unfortunate due to umpires decision, thus, he only managed to make 23 runs. Next three innings were of 40+ for Yousuf. Throughout CT he had no problem playing any bowler and more importantly any spinner. He played spinners with ease in CT. Also his fielding in CT was much better than before. His fitness was much better in CT compare to SL. If someone do an analysis of Yousuf's performance in SL tour and CT he would clearly say he improved alot not slightly. So I don't understand why you are saying he should retire. He also held Pakistan's innings together in CT whenever the team needed a patnership.
Rana Naved I think is 29 right now so he isn't that senior yet. One bad spell doesn't mean he didn't do good in CT. As far SL series is concerned he had bowled really well in SL series especially his variations.
Misbah I agree is not performing upto mark.
I wouldn't dropped Younus Khan either. Remember he played whole CT (except warmup matches) with an injury. Playing with an injury isn't that easy no matter how many pain killer injections you inject before the game. Plus he has double pressure on him, since he has captaincy pressure.
I am pretty sure Afridi's age is same as Rana Naved on cricinfo. In fact Afridi's age is almost same as Younus Khan who in reality is 34 whereas I am pretty sure Afridi is from 32 to 34
