Why is this guy not in India playing the ODI Series, if he is fit enough to play in Australian domestic cricket why he can't play the ODIs?
He is playing in a game NSW Vs WA right now.

Because honestly, Australia does not give a flying *** about this series.

Seems like a very logical reason to me. :P

Because there's no way we're going to risk him by flying him to India. He's better off playing four day Shield cricket to get his fitness back rather than traipsing all over the place.

Just goes to show what the players think of these 7 match series. Quantity will never replace quality.

even zak is fit to play domestic ...but he is not in the squad. You dont rush to international without proving fitness and getting some games under your belt

So what is Yuvraj doing in the series then?
You are right when you say a player should not be hurried into a side, but sadly in the subcontinent they dont give a ****

ahem yuvi was only out for a 1-2 weeks... and still they didnt play him for the first match to ascertain his true fitness . For aussies it is difficult -- if they fly haddin here and he is not fit it is a waste and a huge risk as they might need to fly another backup.
Also the big difference between yuvi and haddin is the latter is a wicketkeeper . Hence the level of fitness required by haddin and yuvi is totally different as haddin would have to collect every ball on his previously injured finger.
Well cant say about Pak but recently in India since the past 3-4 years you dont waltz in the side if you were unfit before. Exceptions i guess would be made only for tourneys of paramount importance like CT , WC etc
Even Sehwag recently had to play the challenger and then CL

Yuvraj din't play the first ODI becasue of a different injury, he injured his small finger or something in practice before the first ODI and thats why he din't play the first ODI.
He did not play any domestic cricket to prove his fitness although it was peak season in India.
Pakistan is also the same, just look at Asif, after a year out, he plays his first match against Australia and was bolwing dibbly dobblies in his first spell.

read the article. He injured his finger in Champs trophy and was injured hence didnt play domestic. But they made him wait one ODI even though he was fit to satisfy the extent of his fitness and then played him.

In his 2nd spell he was bowling like a world class bowler.

Oh I take my words back then, I guess I got a little confused with Dhoni and Raina getting hit in the nets.
Apologies.
In his 2nd spell he was bowling like a world class bowler.
No one is doubting that, heck he was seaming the ball in the 40th over.
But my point is, was it really the right thing to do to bring him straight in for the champions trophy with just 1-2 very low intensity club games
