Just wondering whether the powers that be on here have contacted the PCB/AJ Sports with regards to the availability of the new top.

It's a pity that we're one of the few test countries whose latest replica tops are rarely available through renowned online cricket stores.

I'm pretty sure the demand would be high but knowing the PCB perhaps not enough tops are produced to be sold on!

Is it practical for this site to act as distributors through the online store as soon as a new top becomes available?

Ah that is fantastic news! So it seems AJ sports was a stopgap measure in that case.

I thought we would be stuck with that third rate company for God knows how long so im delighted to hear this.

Just to clarify by 'supplier' you are talking about AJ Sports right? or do you mean something else.

I think he means its good that the suppliers are changing because the jersey seems to be changing very quickly so far the best jersey was when we played the T20 in SA

Indeed that was THE best. I couldn't get my hands on one and it's even harder to get one new now.

I really liked the 2007 World cup kit (50 over). I dont know why they scrapped that one. It was a really good design.

I have that one, yeah it is a good one. Interestingly during the 2007 ODI world cup that shirt was our training shirt. I remember saying at the time that wow...the training kit looks better than our actual kit! Then for the T20 WC that year they basically emblazoned 'Pakistan' across the training shirt and Voila we had a new kit.

It was only for the WC - they are always 'one-offs' with the ICC logos etc - which you dont get on the normal ODI kits

upon reading the title of this thread; i was getting depressed. from a reputable manufacturer, steeped in cricketing tradition, to the third rate tailor we've been synonymous with for some time.

the sportsdirect purchase of slazenger might have been what's resulted in the ending of our agreement ( slazenger don't make many kits aside fromhockey i think). any ideas on who the new manufacturers will be ?, not something along the lines of vandanel, admiral, errea i hope.

adidas ?? surprise us PCB!
i also think the Urdu 'Pakistan' across the front should replace the englih text - though that might even be an ICC requirement . .

Yeah i'd love to see that too, plus they had it in an ICC event (99 WC) so i wouldnt see how ICC would have a problem with it tbh

having urdu written across your chest shows national pride and love for your language and country....instead of removing the urdu we can have it written in english as well as in urdu!

Those brands are a thousand times better than AJ...I would prefer them anyday compared to this mandi wala darzi brand we have now.

Hopefully we get a reputable kit manufacturer this time.

More concerned whether the kit would be available to purchase by the general public via online stores.

i think we should support suppliers from our own country. of course they must be pushed to meet the world standards in order to get any kind of contract. i dont think the current kit was all that bad for Pakistani standards. Pakistan is best know for sports equipments and we should continue to do business within our country even if it means a little less money for pcb.

For me the qauality of the kit is a side issue - it looks OK, and I imagine it is OK.

But when you take on the contract to supply the national team with kit, you have to be 100% with Marketing, slaes, distribution, customer service & support.

AJ fails miserably in ALL departments - its a joke outfit. And thats me being kind.

Agreed. But unfortunately if domestic suppliers aren't meeting the demand of fans (which i assume there is) by supplying replicas then they're showing a lack of professionalism and also missing out on decent revenue.

Having said that the PCB may also be partially if not wholly responsible for the non-supply.

Their store in Wimbledon which I gather is their only distribution centre (for basic kit) is an embarrasment according to a family member.

IPL kits are a travesty - they are merely 'advertising hoardings' attached onto players.

i have an inkling that reebok may well be in contention. i seriously dislike their kits/normal wear ever since they reverted to the tacky retro badge. they were a decent brand until adidas bought them . .

currently they're with SL and saffers. slazenger were class, best kit we've had :13:

Letting the fans submit their designs for the jersey.

ive got both T20 tops i prefer the 07 one, but the best top has to be the WC99 if only they make that for the next WC we could win it in style..... i remember a yr back i contacted someone about these tshirts and if anyone wants to design them would they be interested in it etc they declined apparently their marketing team was doing a good job at it and didnt require people from the public to send in ideas (which i think isnt harmful at all its giving them more ideas)

the top just keeps changing too much for my liking, the shadings of the green with yellow dont go at all, the lime colour with the dark green was fine, i dont know why we dont have much white in our tops apart from the lettering

I bought the 99 kit when I went over in 2001. I was 7. I still have the jersey, and still wear it, but its possibly beginning to tear at the seams, seeing as though its a size 10 :afridi
