Oh, no ! Faisal gone :(

Never mind. Rome was not build in a day !
True. But will the public understand?

Reminds me of the politician who was complaining that the public was still after his blood even after he had accepted their demands. The following conversation ensued:

His friend: But you just accepted those demands yesterday. You can't expect calves running around the field the day you mate your cows with a bull.

Politician: True, but is it too much to expect contented cows?

Chrys Gaile from Jamaica: "When facing Daniel Vettori it's like a left handed version of me bowling to myself. He hardly ever spins the ball." Cheeky. Comparing Vettori to Hauritz now are we?

First goal should be to play out the remaining 25+ overs without losing a wicket, make 70 odd runs, extend the lead to 100.

I think MoYo will be really conservative, so ideally it will be best if we just got out around lunch time tomorrow for a score of 250-300 to chase, it would give Kaneria, Asif and co a decent crack at Kiwis.

People are thinking too far ahead, we are still effectively 30 for 3 which is really a not a good position to be in, if you see it in the overall circumstances

and with such a brittle line up, anything can happen within a matter of minutes so it is highly important that pak plays risk free cricket

Similarly at the end of the 66th over:

NZ were 149/5 @ 2.25
Pak were 151/2 @ 2.28

NZ were chasing a low total so they had the confidence to accelate (plus it was Vettori and McCullum then), whereas Pak had Faisal and Yousuf and they are never going to play fast, plus they were still well behind NZ.

commentator should be neutral in test matches like Umpires

No the broadcasters sending this match to Pakistan fans should stop being cheap and have their own commentators.

What used to happen was there were domestic commentators for the domestic audience and then a different (and more neutral) set of commentators for the international broadcast. Now the broadcasters are cheap so they just take the domestic feed - and then you wonder why the comms are biased, they are commentating for the Kiwi audience. Habits are hard to break.

And if you don't like them, turn the sound down. ;-)

Indeed - the ball was there to hit and he duly delivered.
That's the way to go. Don't dismiss bowlers but don't give them undue respect either. When the ball is there to hit, hit it no matter who the bowler is, and what the situation is.

I believe the PCB does wrist scans of every player that is selected for U19 WC and Aamer passed. Nasir Jamshed was not selected because he failed, despite being officeially under the age of 19 at the time.

Having said that, Aamer could be 19 right now (he would have passed the wrist exam at the last U19 WC). Its not highly unlikely that people use the incorrect age in Pakistan :)
