the Pakistan domestic season is in progress.

The above is a quote from an interview I did with former Chief Selector Iqbal Qasim today.

Of course this issue came to light when Misbah ul Haq went to Bangladesh to play in domestic cricket, whilst the QEA Trophy was still in progress.

The selectors went to the Board chairman to find out if Misbah was eligible for selection for the Pakistan team, despite his reluctance to play in Pakistani domestic cricket, and the response they got was "that there is no policy".

It's high time a policy was documented to avoid this situation occurring again.

I think the incompetence of the PCB has inadvertently helped Pakistan out here. But when some fortunate circumstances do arise, is Banglacricket the best our players can do?

If YK went to England, Umar Akmal to S.A., Moyo to Australia rather than rotting in the domestic league, we may have even drawn a match. But instead, the players play in domestic cricket, are lauded for their performances and fail when it matters for your country.

I think it's high time we had a policy of doing away with our international/potential players playing domestically because they are stunting their progress.
