KCL has set up a website. Its just 1 page at the moment, however, they will be putting the schedule online. Lets support this league.

Is there any way PP can get involved with this, to bring more exposure/success to this?? possibly by having an agreement to show some of the games online?? :Sami

I think someone needs to help them with the site designing. All those team names can be in charcole colored buttons. Maybe some of the PP designers can hlep them for free. We need to help them make this tournament successfull so in near future we can see teams from four provinces.

why not take it to the next step and have a PP produced daily video highlites, if we have enough folks in Karachi area where games are being played it can be done. Capture a few shots from regular camera, some basic editing and up load to YouTube. Again if we had more time going into it I could have managed the whole thing sitting here in the U.S but need Karachi volunteers and then having to reach out to RashidLatif to get good spots to get good video shots. I am sure there are other video designers on these forums who would like to give it a shot.

Like any typical domestic effort, they have ended up mixing religion, nationalism, regionalism, politics in it with just one word about the main subject and that is "karaaachi champions-league!"

though jokes apart, on the whole it just looks like a goodish/novel local effort, don't get it what all the fuss is about on media (i guess this is one advantage of having all the media houses in your city)

and btw at least league matches are not covered by Geo super!

Im all for leagues and development for cricket, but cheap tournaments such as this is not going to help Pakistan cricket in any way, shape or form. Its a T20 tournament....no way is this going to bring any significant changes to Pak cricket.

Don't confuse the local hoopla about this league (thanks to mqm and geo super [who although have made a sports channel yet the lack of quality sports in pakistan is forcing them to resort to hype up such local events out of proportion ] with the same kind of international advertisement!

1. This Club Teams Competition

2. In 2nd stage very soon after Club Team Competition there would be another Competition based upon different Areas of Karachi (where teams become less but quality better)

3. And then there will be a Team Karachi selected after these 2 Competitions which will go to play with other Teams of Pakistani Cities.
His intentions are only to develop the Game of Karachi Players by providing them better Cricket at domestic level including few International and National Player hirings.


4. And also Rashid Latif and Mustafa Kamal are now going to make an Infrastructure for Cricket Grounds and Facilities at University and College Level. Afterwards they will go to Schools level too.


5. Mustafa Kamal said he want People of Karachi to go to watch these matches in large numbers and form that envoirment of Cricket which is lacking due to the Terrorist attack at Sri Lankan Team.


Now coming to another Angle of looking things:

Mustafa Kamal is no PCB.

Mustafa Kamal has no Authority for Cricket in whole Pakistan.

Mustafa Kamal could not do any thing Better than this, so why People are expecting and blaming him for that which absolutely doesn't lies in his Hands?

You see, IPL has been started at Top LEVEL of Indian Cricket Board. India has lot of resources, there is Peace in India as compared to Pakistan, there are 100 times more Sponsors in India than Pakistan, their Population is 8 times more than Pakistan.....

So, how could Mustafa Kamal compete with IPL?

No, he is a practical Person and starting the things are that Level which is in his authority. If it gets attention from Media and People specially, then automatically next year many more suggestions and plans come underway.

In short, be positive, be happy with what we have, thank Mustafa Kamal for his struggles and love for Cricket.

And if Pakistan doesn't have IPL type thing, then blame PCB for that and not Mustafa Kamal or Rashid Latif.

From what I've heard, F.B Area gymkhana,Gulshan-e-Iqbal gymkhana, Malir Gymkhana, and Landhi Korangi friends are the strong teams in this tournament.

my dear, do you know that the highest prize money of a domestic tournament in Pakistan (organised by PCB) is Rs. 10 lacs.
And the prize money of Karachi Champions League is Rs. 1 CRORE which is the highest in the history of Pakistan domestic cricket. So Geo Super and everyone else who is hyping this tournament is BOUND to do that.

they will introduce that town ( different locality ) cricket format within 6 to 8 months once all the remaining under construction stadiums will be finished as stated by nazim.... this t20 is based on club cricket..
15 out 16 teams are the old clubs of karachi accelerated by kcca.
