give him green wicket and he is a clueless fool...FTB

This is the kind of clueless (baseless) and one-eyed criticism that is annoying...Sehwag is quite good against fast men which is why he is opening the batting...He may not hook or pull the ball but he plays the ball on it's merit most of the time...

As to his record in SA/Eng..He hit a century on debut against SA in SA against Donald, De Villiers and Pollock in their pomp...He hit a century against England in England in his first test there...

similarly, he has hit a few centuries against Australia in Australia...

Thats a "huge blow", Yep that Sehwag is a "massive" cricketer.... Duminy just couldnt take the "pressure"

Classic football related mistake - Duminy went for the man instead of the ball

No offences meant but there is an age old myth that the lion hearted Sardars go crazy when the clock strikes 12. Similarly, Sehwag goes crazy when he is in the 90s, 190s, 290s etc. As I said, no offences meant. Please take it in the right spirit. Just enjoy the metaphor. To be honest, I have great respect for the Sardars.

Interesting scene: Before the start of play today, Sachin Tendulkar was having a warm-up session with the bat and in walked our Danny Morrison - the previous world record holder for the most number of ducks in Tests - immediately he picked up SRT's bat and started showing off his backfoot defensive strokes to the Master. Sunny Gavaskar and Robin Jackman are saying on air that if Sachin gets to a ton today, he will dedicate it to Morrison!

The Sehwag storm struck South Africa with full force and pretty much blew everything in its way: he scored his 13th 150-plus score. Amid the mayhem, it was easy to forget the cool, pleasant breeze that Sachin Tendulkar's 92nd international century was - his fourth in four Tests. Once the two quietened, South Africa struck back with three wickets to restore a semblance of a contest in the match.

A lead of 100-150 here and S.A can kiss this match good bye. Laxman is usually very good batsmen with the tail.

Steyn and co will pretty much need an Indian collapse like their own in this match!

15th February 2010, 10:55
India need at least 50s from Laxman and Dhoni

saffer
15th February 2010, 15:18
India on top but with a few quick wickets tomorrow with Steyn finding reverse swing and India could have to chase 150-250 to draw the series, which I think will be a lose thing batting last.

india are quite a bit ahead really. They've still got Laxman and Dhoni and the rest of the tail. They only need about 100 runs to really put on the pressure.

I don't think India will collapse like South Africa. For both sides to collapse would be pretty unlikely, and India will bat more cautiously to avoid a collapse. Plus with India already in the driving seat, they are likely to bat under less pressure too.

If South Africa put in a good second innings they may save the test. Though I don't expect either Amla or Peterson to fire again and with Smith having an injured finger, it's gonna be very hard for South Africa to post a good 2nd inning's score.

farhan1
15th February 2010, 18:48
South Africa need early wicktets to get the match balance as India will need to get the lead around 150-200 to have a chance of winning.

giri26
15th February 2010, 19:11
India needs another 100 to put pressure on SA. Laxman is the key for India tomorrow along with Dhoni. If Mishra, Zaheer and Bajji hang around for sometime then SA might be facing a reasonable lead with 2 full days to go. If India can get to 150 run lead, I dont think SA can save the match.
