"Well I think we know which Pakistan has showed up here today....Its the one to be afraid of"

Favorite - Can't remember the exact test match but at some point in mid 2000", Bumble was commenting on a maiden Wasim Akram over to Mike Atherton
"Inswing, Outswing, Reverse, Slower Ball, Reverse, Yorker! just the level of concentration and appreciation for Wasim Bumble put into commentating that one over was amazing!
Also, Nasser Hussain's at the T20 wc semi final on England "We now know which Pakistan have turned up today, the one to be very afraid of" - Classic!

Bob Willis is a legend. He hates everyone and everything. He always looks like he is sucking a lemon when he does his analysis and its always fun to watch a guy like that.
I remember once he had this 10 minute rant about England's bowling and Ian Ward goes to him "hmm...[smirking]...i think you need to go and have a cuppa"
It was the first time Bob Willis actually burst out laughing coz even he realised that his commentary had been pretty angry.

World Cup 1999 the group stage match between Pakistan and Australia.
Bevan was turning the match around so wasim brought himself on.
He bowled a delivery and got him out and Imran Khan bursts out "Oh...hes out".
The way he said it you could tell he really wanted Bevan to get out and was well happy that Wasim of all people did it.
It was almost an involuntary blurt out by Imran - it showed he really cared about Pak winning.

Bob Willis is a dreadful commentator but in the analysts chair he's simply superb.
I remember before the Ashes, there was speculation of Andrew McDonald playing and when asked on his views Willis dryly said; "Who? I think they might as well have invested in the services of a famous fast food chain's mascot, that would have worried England more". He also said Watson is a "Joke of a cricketer and not test material at all" during the same exchange. LOL.

Its a pity but i think guys Willis are slowly being phased out at Sky to be replaced by less controversial commentators like Atherton and Hussein (although they are pretty good).
Worst quotes are anything Nick Knight says. He seems to really talk crap.

"Look how far that stump has travelled, its almost impaled Kamran Akmal"
Boycott commentating for the BBC during Pak tour to England 1996 - Test match - Inzammam hits a glorious 4 on the offside:
"His mam certainly feeds him alot of them; chappatis" (paraphrasing - but he definitely mentioned Inzamma consuming copious amounts of chappatis that give hum such power)
Also; refer to the legendary and sadly missed, Waqar Younis commentary thread:
Camera zooms to a man holding a poster saying "I love you Afridi with lots of apparent homo-eroticism visible on the poster.
Co-Commentator:
"That Banner is a little gay isn't it Waqar"
Waqar (referring to the number of posters) inadvertently turns "Carry On" Kenneth Williams style Style:
"Yes, theres alot of them in Pakistan"

Don't know about quotes but I like to hear what Nasser Hussains opinion on the game are.
He's a no nonsense character. Says what he feels and I like that about him.
Usuaully his views are pretty informative.
Bumble is another favourite of mine.
Despite the fact that Ian Chappell hasn't got the greatest fan following on PP he's another one I like to listen out for. Alan Wilkins is a Pakistani at heart, I think. Always very generous with his praise.
Aamer Sohail's view are always interesting. Ofcourse sometimes they have that tinge of insanity to them but he's usually good to listen to.
Michael Holding and Tony Cozier are good to listen to aswell. And how can I forget Geoff Boycott.
As for the Asian commentators most are terrible. Manjrekar along with Ramiz Raja are unbearable.
Ramiz Raja is was not only a pathetic and mediocre player but he's also a teriible commentator.
Come to think of it Manjrekar would probably be at the top of my worst commentators list.
Favourite:

2. Benaud " Its 2 for 22" (pronounced as tchew(2) for twenty-tchew)
Least Favourite:

Funny :

Yup all of DL's "Start your engines"...."Start the car time.." variations....

"this is desi ishtyle":raja
"Subtract Lewis from that list..." will always be a classic. Benaud is such a laid back character: imagine a Ravi Shastri or a Danny Morrison commentating in that World Cup Final; they would have made it into something else entirely. Benaud, in that soft voice that had just that hint of awe in it, was perfect.
Anything Dean Jones says.
Other favorites include: Tony Cozier, Chappeli, Boycott, Nasser, Athers, Bumble. Tell you what, I like the entire Sky Box, even bitter old men like Bob Willis - his dry, acerbic wit is actually kind of entertaining.

Don't forget "Just what vat the doctor aordaared"...
Yes that's another one of his favorites.
I really dislike him. Remember that rubbish show he and wasim akram used to host between innings (Shaz and Waz). Two married guys wearing tight t-shirts, shamelessly hitting on girls half their age on tv.
That said, I like Akram a lot. But I liked him a lot more when he was playing and not commentating. Sometimes you see certain cricketers and you think, "he looks and seems like an ordinary mortal now that he's retired".
Akram should walk around in test whites all his life, even in his leisure time, because he has "cricketer" written all over him, and these commentary stints just do players of his caliber no favors.

Best commentary: Bumble during Pakistan vs England 2005 (ODI in Karachi) "Can we have our ball back please......................[B]COME ON SON............COME ON SON..........ONE MORE TO GO..................THANK YOU
WORST: Ramiz's one-liners when Yousuf hits a cover drive ("He's a stylist").
ALL the nauseating commentary in the IPL.

Ramiz lied yesterday while commenting during the 4th days play. He said that "Pakistan have not won a single test match for 3,5 years or so"
Anyone else noticed that? Pakistan won a test match agaisnt NZ before the tour of Aus.
