Shoaib Malik is way better than Fawad Alam in T20s.
Malik can hit boundaries while Alam has problem hitting them.
Malik has same level of fielding as Alam.
Malik can bowl overs while Alam cant bowl.

Do you guys agree? Its a done deal that Pakistan should always choose Malik ahead of Alam in T20s?

and Afridi >>>> Malik in T20....so what's your point?

We all know Malik is a better T20 player than Alam, and Alam is probably miles better than Malik in Test.

I can't stand Malik but he is a world class 20/20 player and Fawad to be honest shouldn't be in our 20/20 team.

Some PPers here think that Alam should be selected ahead of Malik in T20s.

I rather have even Wajitullah Wasti in my team rather than Malik cause at least wasti won't ruin team's unity

[QUOTE=Lahoria]Can't believe I'm defending Malik but you must not have watched the first 20/20 WC.[/QUO

Shoaib Malik was good in the first WC but he was no where near world class, The only matches he performed in were Australia(Misbah scored most of the runs in that match ) and against Sri Lanka.

He failed in the most important match , The final.

WHo was captain in first WC? probably he was more focus in playing than back stabbing.

Malik was captain so yeah its possible he was more focus on playing cricket as he couldn't possibly backstab himself

It's not that easy to judge since he comes at no.7 or 8 to bat...

One quick fire 30+ and the player is world classs.
Next mathc when he scores a duck then we will call for his head.

Typical Pakistani mentality.

Anti-Malik bias on this forum, like it or not he will be in the team for all three formats, so haaaa

This kind of attitude is killing this nation:
"Like it or not Zardari is going to be OUR President of for next 10yrs so let the poor man eat poison haaaa."

anwaar sahb why include someone who runs away from green tops why refuse to bat in certain positions, if he makes any form in his test now would be the right time hes like 28? and still doesnt make the final test XI

He never refused to play from certain positions, he just wanted long run at the position.

Regarding green top, he was injured in NZL.

Facing new ball, He has the highest average as an opener after tasleem arif and saeed anwar.

If MoYo had dropped him for personal grudges then it's not his fault.
PCB had to intervene to include him in playing eleven for last test in Aus.

I think Malik is a very decent T20 player but Malik is not way better than Fawad in T20.
This match as a result this thread was created is played against an average county team that has lost 3 of its last 4 T20 matches. Not to mention most of the Pak players batted very well and so no pressure for Malik but to go and hit out

Now compare this match which Fawd won us against SL (an international side which is more than good in T20. He was under pressure and he hit 3 sixes in this game and made 23 of 8. So the boy can hit it is not pleasing but he can get the job done. Taht performance does not make Fawad>>>>Malik but it does shows that Fawad is a T20 player and can hit he just has not gotten many good chances.

Malik is undoubtedly better than Fawad in T20s. Fawad can't be compared to Malik in limited over cricket. period. Not because Malik is some Bevan but b/c Malik has done more in odis and T20s than Fawad - who has a long way to go. and not JUST Fawad, he's better than most of our current players in odis + t20s.

Alam seems like a good talent in the longer version of the game, but once again too early to make it seem like he's an absolute gem.. The guy hardly plays, once he gets a long run like Umar Akmal or so, only then I'd pass my final comments on Fawad. Nevertheless, he does have great potential.

fawad is not a big hitter which is reqiured for T20..... apart from politics in the team as a player malik is miles better than fawad!

and Fawad can bowl by the way! just that no one gives him a chance

try switching their batting/bowling order and see what happen then..

i think u meant...fights with others...
lol...yea u can put it that way too...he is a characterless person which was concurred by an uncle of mine...nehow i have an uncle who is a big shot in the Emirates cricket board...he told me that the players are all given some stuff in their locker rooms...apparently malik went around taking every1s towels and soaps that were to be used for every1...now tht is juss way beyond cheap...

yes but, fawads bowling is pretty much useless, whereas malik is actually pretty handy with the ball.

as for batting currently it is malik>>>fawad but like i said earlier fawad is still young and has time to develop.

doesnt matter.
compare them either way. Even when it comes to domestic T20s - Malik's better than Fawad. Malik averages 40 in Twenty20...probably better than everyone in the current team there.

Fawad seems useless when it comes to bowling, the few times he has gotten a chance. Malik was very handy before his action was reviewed....he can't bowl like he initially did..even then, he still can come in use every now and then with the bowl. Fawad on the other hand, only seems useful with the bat despite being an allrounder.
