Who has seen any of the domestic players, not many ppl have BUT we dont just like Afaq Raheem for the sake of it, he has been getting some good scores in domestic cricket, if he can keep it up then he deserves a chance for Pak one day

Average of 89 as ataullah bhai mentioned. Sufyan averages 45 in LOIs, but has played many more a match than Afaq, and also has a lower number of proportionate not outs.

afaq averages 39 now after that century.

Umer gul gets 5-87 in second innings to have 10 wickets for the match.

I think Gul should definately be in squad for the Indian series. He is obviously in form and did well last time around against India. I think Mo Asif is also in the mix. But if Inzi wants bouncy tracks then we might see more pace bowlers in the squad, in which case both bowlers will get a chance.

Afaq Raheem is 20 years old. Time is on his side.

Afaq is from Thothal of Mirpur, and consequently I am pleased he is doing well.

He has been playing club cricket for RTCC in the Uk during 2005. My undertsnding is that he had a good season but not too special. However all the locals, partivulary the goras of teh club, know that he is tipped to be playing for Pakistan in the near future.

For Yorkshire League that is not bad, some big players play there.

However there are quite a few pros from Pakistan playing in Yorkshire. I think Arsaln Mir must be ahead of Raheem. But people in rotherham are fairly convinced that Raheem will be in the Pak team soon. I think there must be some 'in crowd' and Raheem is there.

Rameesz raja has some relatives in rotherham and hence raheem is playing there. Does ramees carry any clowt in selection fro Pak. Please advise.

...also may i ask why u think arsalan mir is ahead of afaq.

arsalan has played 21 games and averages 28 with 1 hundred and 5 fifties in domestic with 905 runs overall

afaq raheem has played has played 18 matches with average of just over 39 with 4 hundreds and 6 fifties

in one days arsalan averages 38 from 9 games with no 100 and 1 fifty

in one dayser, afaq raheem has played 6 matches and averages 89 with 3 100's

It shows he does go on to make big scores

I think he opens for them and hence should be a fast bowler but I do not know.

Reason I think Arsalan is ahead is that his reputation proceeds him and in the club circuit he has done better. He has been a one man band team destrroying oppoistion (including other Pak pros). however last season I think he got greedy and became moody and would not bowl for teh team. When he played in teh Pak under 19 he became quite well known I think.

Where is Noddy he should be able to add to the pecking order of these players.

Syed Bin Nisar must also be ahead of rahim. Anyone know better.

i would think county cricket in pak is more competitive than CLUB cricket in uk, no?

i cant really say whos better, not seen either but from the stats it shows that afaq has done better.

Do not despute anything you say. HAfridi.

I hope he does well and goes on - but I think playing AK person may not be favoured.

However, Afaq has palyed in the Yorkshire League and done well. The Yorkshire and Bradford Leagues are by far the best in teh UK and some would argue as good as some counties. So it can only be a good sign. The fact that Afaq has played in a relatively poor team his performace is all the more impressive.

Hope he continues to do well and I look forward to watching him in teh coming season.

In Pakistan itself we are the poorer cousins. An individuals wealth does not mean anything. Mirpur city itself is probably more wealthy than Islamabd. I can confrim some teh prices are.

As for in England. We are the illitirate of teh Pak. However we have more money. \Manly because our grandparents came here as migrants and worked very hard and as do many of us now. Any way teh majority of Kasmiris in teh Uk to teh mainland Pak's - overwhelms them I think.

I don't think people relaise the majority of AK in Uk, compared to ramainder of teh Pak.

Ramiz isnt a selector but can recomend afaq or put a word in. Afaq is well known in Pak as he's played for pak u-19's.
Nasir Jamshed is a 16/17 year left hand opener who has also played for pak u-19s. He's prolific for the u-19's.

    Afaq Rahim

The 20-year-old Afaq Rahim, from Mirpur in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, hit his fourth century in a 12-match career of major limited overs games. He finished with 112 not out off 138 balls with 17 boundaries.

just got the stat from jang. pretty impressive numbers for this youngster
