From Cricinfo
Yusuf Pathan: "The way Gautam has captained in the last two years, it is comparable to Shane Warne [at Rajasthan]. He has supported the players a lot. We have played as a team. We enjoyed each others' success. I got to play the role in the semi-final, today Bisla and Kallis did it. The way Bisla was in and out of the team, he did very well. It was tough to leave out a top player like McCullum."
Sunil Narine: "Coming in a big tournament and having a big impact is huge. But it is about 11 players."
Wasim Akram: "I have won World Cup for Pakistan, but this is very different feeling. I am very happy. Knowing our owner SRK, it is going to be a madhouse."
Shakib Al Hasan: "I dont think we will be able to sleep tonight. I think Shah Rukh has gone mad. I dont know what he is doing."
Shah Rukh Khan clambers up onto the railing of the stand he is in and waves his arms. KKR squad rush out on to the field. Dhoni shakes hands with everyone. Gautam Gambhir strides out, Jacques Kallis being lifted by one of his team-mates, a disappointed Dhoni and Ashwin walk away. Yusuf smiles broadly, Bravo shaking his head in disappointment. Wasim Akram looks very happy. Ryan ten Doeschate lifts Gambhir high into the air. Captain embraces the matchwinner Bisla

I dont really follow IPL that much but if Im put on the spot and asked to pick a team it would be KKR because of the Pakistani connections in the first season

-

Love the team. Supported them from the first season.
Did not really watch the tourney this year, but I did follow their progress. A complete performance from start to finish.
Thoroughly deserved.

Gauti dedicated the win to Laxmipathi Balaji after the match.
Balaji now is the first player i guess to win IPL with two different teams.
-

He bowled well this season....that 3 yrs injury from 2005 to 2008 where he did not even play domestic cricket just changed his complete career...otherwise would have been in Indian side...still has decent pace. I guess there is no chance we will ever see him in indian colors...

Stop being critical guys!! its a huge achievement for KKR, especially for SRK who probably has doubled his teams' worth now, cant even imagine what i would do if i were in his shoes
-
28th May 2012, 09:02 #65
I supported KKR from the first season but it no longer it has any players I like. And now actually has players I really don't like for some reason Gambhir, Kallis and Phatan so really was supporting no one. And they had to go and win this season.

Brilliant Stuff! Honestly, deserved team won this year's IPL.
Special Congrats to Gauti, no matter what people think of him as an angry or egoist player, but he lead the team really well. It really did look like he was captaining the side, leading it from front! The way he used Narine was gem! With same Narine kind of talent was in team like MI or DD, I am sure he wouldn't have done this well.
Another special acknowledgement for Bisla! Listened to his interview! Already under pressure, after he had to replace McCullum and to open an inning chasing mammoth total and he played superb inning! He might not be picked for Indian team ever, but moment like this make you think how many players like him will never get chance to play for India, but they are having stage like IPL, where many people can recognize him! And most amazing thing was his interview was gem, he was very calm, and no cockiness whatsoever. Hats Off!
I must give consolation to MSD, out of no where his team made it to final, and he played big part in it!
Good to see new winner, wish MI made it to final!

Chasing 190 plus in a final was just out of the world! I have a small affiliation towards CSK but KKR damn well deserved it. But more importantly I am happy that Team India has a potential captain in GG plus a few options in batting and pace bowling thanks to IPL 5 (the likes of Dhawan. Naman ojha, Awana and Nadeem apart from Aarons comeback).
Not to forget the likes of Bisla getting their moment under the lime light. Not a big fan of the league due to the over focus on non cricketing aspects (bollywood and glamor and sundries) but cant deny that that we have a few positives this time around on the cricketing front.Last edited by dani2k; 29th May 2012 at 20:00.
