Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo | Season 2012-13 | Who will have the better season?
Geordie Ahmed made this thread last season, time to make a new one for this season? I think so.
Messi has started the season by doing this:
http://t.co/i9Kub39U
Made a pitch invader happy by shaking hands with him
Ronaldo has started the season with this goal:

^ Seriously I would rather have Iniesta/Villa/Xavi taking the penalties next season
-
-

Don't worry, he'll start getting em all in eventually
Iniesta and Xavi are really good penalty takers though, from what I've seen. Even Pique is good.

Remember This?
Rooney hails Messi as best ever after five-star show

I guess Rooney is a blind Man Utd Hater who wants to bring Ronaldo down.
And just a note for you.
According to real Man Utd Fans, Man U is not acceptable.

Right now Messi is ahead of everybody else and its going to be his best year ever. Ronaldo should be in super form too, last year, he not only won the la liga but played a major role in it, performed in pretty much all the big matches which imo, was a negative thing on his resume and he also performed well in Euros as well.
Messi is still going to be the fulcrum of Barcelona's attack so expect a lot of goals from him but its not really the number of goals that i'm looking forward to, he may not repeat his last years heroics but in term of football, it should be his best season, i can see him peaking this season and its quiet scary(for opposing teams) to think bout what "new" could he bring to the table as hes been tearing everyone apart in last five years.

Ronaldo will probably have the better year. He's at his peak age, and it'll be one of his last year as an out and out superstar. Messi will keep getting better and better but Ronaldo might be too good this season.
He is fundamentally aware of his aura within the team. His exhilaration infects them.

You think Messi is better thats your opinion but bashing Ronaldo for the sake of it and opening new threads when he doesnt perform only to run and hide when he performs in the next game shows blind hate.
Btw. can you show me where i have hated Barca, stop making things for the sake of it, i have always preferred them to any other team in LL.

i love ronaldo probably coz he has an attitude around his game
-
18th August 2012, 01:18 #37
He saved himself for the final penalty to feed his massive ego, in this case his plan went wrong and he never got to take a penalty.
I would rather have a team player who is willing to step up and take a penalty at any point(even if they miss) than a player who wants to take the final penalty for personal glory.

See what Nani said
http://www.foxsports.com.au/football...-1226412902228
Neverthless Messi and Ronaldo are the two best players in the world no doubt..
We can argue about who is best but that will only be decided when both retires.
-
18th August 2012, 03:24 #42Portugal winger Nani suggests that Ronaldo demanded the fifth penalty against Spain to take the glory
"Cristiano Ronaldo demanded the last penalty," the winger is quoted in The Daily Mail.
"I said to the coach I would accept any order.
"It didn't seem to be a problem to me, because penalty shoot-outs are all about luck and we did not deserve to lose like that."
-

Messi despite not being brilliant, still played quite well, could easily have had a hat-trick
The 2 chances he had in the 1st half would normally hit the back of the net and also Casillas pulled off a great save to deny him, would have made it 4-1 and likely the tie over
Ronaldo took his goal well, he is strong in the air and I was quite surprised it was Busquets marking him and not Pique, other than that he didn't see a great deal of the ball. He should do better next week when he will see more of the ball

Mourinho's must be in a real pickle. Madrid's defense just cannot stop Barcelona unless it plays unattractive football( as it did in the first half ). Such formulas have worked in the past for Madrid and I dont know why they lost the plot after CR7 scored the goal.
Due to the score, next game they'll have to play more openly against Barca, which means that Barca will get a lot of chances as well.
The defensive predicament seems to always carry with Madrid, no matter whether they sign a Cannavaro or a Woodgate or a Heinze.
Albiol is defensively AVERAGE. Sergio ramos has some games where he plays like a complete idiot like he did yesterday. I thought he had matured as a CB but clearly he is way too rash and was lucky to not concede another penalty. At this point I dont see why Mourinho shouldn't develop Varane. That's why I'm still confused as to why Mourinho wants Modric because the 4-2-3-1 formation clearly would require the 2 holding mids to be very diligent in guarding the center and full backs, something that Khedira or Lass would be more equipped to take on.
Iniesta was extra-ordinary as usual. I do think that they should put in Jordi Alba in the mix I am very excited to see what he has to offer. Messi had a relatively good game though average for his standards.

Not really, it was hardly a "turning up" performance, you can delude yourself and think otherwise BUT the reality of it was that he pretty much spent all night shooting on sight, world class players need to do more than that and I do think he is better than that, he just loves the glory and his ego wants the limelight rather than what is better for the team

For now, Messi is leading but i am not really satisfied with his performances either, yes he is scoring goals and stuff but THAT thing is missing from his game this season, so far, his creativity that made him so lethal in the previous seasons is kind of missing for me but still, long way to go and i hope to see the same Messi that can get you out of ceats with his vision and creativity.

If talking bout goals and decisive moments, Ronaldo and Messi went toe to toe and it was a fantastic display of football by both of them but i'm happy that Messi is getting back to his usual self, creative in the midfield and dangerous when running on defenders, vintage Messi performance!

Messi vs Ronaldo?
It isn't an argument anymore.
The only thing that Ronaldo fans could talk about was free kicks and weak foot goals.
Messi has put that to bed as well.
No comparison between the best player of all time and one of the best of all time.
PS: Still waiting for the day Ronaldo finally gets a FK over the wall.
