lol, but jokes aside, it's crazy that an 18-year old kid is the fastest bowler in the world at the moment and is capable of bowling at around 95 mph. I hope that he's not just a rarity and more youngsters emerge in his mould, receiving proper, tailored physical training at an early age. It would be awesome to see fast bowling taken to new heights, where 95-100 mph deliveries are common.

Looks like Chaiwala had a beef burger before he came on to bowl. At last an Indian bowler has topped the fast bowling charts. This is even more remarkable because no other Indian bowler features in the top 100 fastest balls lol. Piyush done the nation proud.

Cummins is not 18. He was 18 when first picked.
He isn't Pakistani so therefore is not immortal.

But to the OP there is a lack of express quicks at the moment.

Pat Cummins isn't the fastest bowler in the world at the moment
nor are Dale Steyn,Steven Finn, Morne Morkel, Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Irfan Pathan, Umesh Yadav or Atul Sharma.
The fastest bowler in the world is....
Stuart Meaker.

I think Adam Milne is quite fast. Can bowl at 90 mph + consistently. He is poor at line and length though but he is still young so can improve. I like his pace.

Fast is only good if it is used cleaverly..unlike some people
I have never considered it as a mandate to be a good seamer. Glenn Mcgrath and wasim akram are the best bowlers I have seen, and they were never dependent on raw pace.Last edited by Austin 3:16; 24th September 2012 at 18:47.

Morkel + Steyn is the best fast bowling pair in the world right now! Both of them are fast but they also bowl sensibly at the same time.
And that Chawla 153 kph was actually a joke!! Jeez!

Morne Morkel is alot quicker than he looks to be, always thought he was more of a bowler - who's height gave him an advantage with extra bounce..

People forgetting the great man in my avatar who was bowling 150 last summer.
He's not super quick but neither are any others on the current list. As they bowl now, Cummins might get faster given he is so young but then he might spend his career being injured.
Nothing like when there was Shoiab and Lee and Tait and Sami and Fidel and Nehra

Yep you have a number of bowlers who can still hit 150KPH including Siddle/Harris/Pattinson/Cummins/Starc?/Tait/Nannes/hilfenhaus?Johnson
We only have Sami who is genuinely quick but does have a brain. Other quick's we have are Wahab/Talah and Gul who can crank it up to 150KPH.
Shame that there are no new real fast bowlers about from Pak as we just aint producing the fast bowling talent we used toLast edited by NavSheikh786; 25th September 2012 at 12:33.
