Watch out for this young fast bowler from Kerala.

On a hot Monday afternoon, Sandeep Warrier proved just too hot to handle.

In a sensational of spell of pace bowling, the 21-year-old picked up six for 44 to lead Kerala to an innings and 35-run win with a day and a half to spare in the Ranji Trophy Group ‘C’ encounter at the Perinthalamanna Cricket Ground.

He is quick, quicker than Sreesanth, his kerala team mate. I am not hyping, but maan this guy looks very promising.

    From above article;
“It was one of the best performances of pace bowling I have seen in domestic cricket in recent times,” said Jharkhand coach Tarak Sinha, who has produced Test bowlers like Manoj Prabhakar, Ashish Nehra, Atual Wassan and Sanjeev Sharma.

He bowls @ 145 + on average, very nippy, swings the ball both ways, has good bouncer and yorker (as per newspaper reports and local media). As I told you earlier, I am not hying this young man. At present he is looks very promising. very skinny, but generates good pace. (Believe me he can;t match great pakistani phast bowlers, but one of the better pace men coming up in india)

Prabhakar and Sanjeev sharma were never quick. This guy is from Kerala, which has produced great athletes and footballers. They were never a cricketing force in Indian domestic level, but now things have changed. Hopefully we can see some real indian "fast bowlers" of international class (Not trundlers) emerging from Kerala. Mark my words.

Kerala produces many athletes for india at national level.Kerala is a small state when compared to others states but they are champions in athletics, they emerges as no 1 in school level, college level and state level athletics championships.TBH,most of these athletes use this platform to secure their life by earning a goverment job. Most of the these athletes are not interested in cricket.

Doesn't seem to like tacking wickets, has a pretty awful average in FC when you know that Vinay Kumar got 300 @ 25 the piece.

What happened to Pradeep Sangwan ? Thought he'll make it.

If you had to make a top 3 of the young/uncapped fast bowlers in India, would it look like

    1 - Sandeep Warrier
    2 - Siddharth Kaul
    3 - Sandeep Sharma

Stop calling these trundlers fast bowlers. You are insulting real fast bowlers from around the world by calling Indian trundlers fast bowler. Just accept it guys that Indian gene pool does not include fast bowling gene.

I am sure India will produce a genuine fast bowler soon. There is not much difference in Pak vs. Indian genes when you compare the non-vegetarians. I think it is only a coincidence that India has not produced someone genuinely quick over the last few years while Pakistan has. It will change for sure. If you have followed cricket for long enough you will know that nothing lasts for ever and everything that goes up will eventually come down and what what is down will eventually go up.

(Note that the above theory does not apply to Bangladesh state of cricket! That will always stay down).

Explain that to Indian Media and their hype of the next 100 mph bodybuilder.

We have seen Sami, Zahid (95 mph+) and Amir (150 kph+ at 17), so we know perfectly well one doesn't need that to bowl 100 mph like Akhtar.

Check out the number of medals in South Asian games or Commonwealth games or Asian games that India win and Pakistan win. Its chalk and cheese.

You're doing them a favour by trying to explain their lack of fastbowlers and how it applies to their next big hype but, fine, you may not have had any fast bowler that averages -28 and has bowled in excess of 140 kph over 2 year, but this guy, I'm sure he's the next Akhtar because you and us have the same physique.

Worth noting that mohammad is saying muscles don't intervene in fb but at the same type defending his country's olympic performances, and that this guy comes from a state that's named after a vegetable. Good luck bowling fast

KOCHI: Life is moving in the fast lane for Kerala speedster Sandeep Warrier. Just two months after he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Kerala, the 21-year old has earned a call from IPL franchisee Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to join them for the upcoming season of IPL. And what is more exciting for Sandeep is the fact that his name was proposed to the management by none other than Indian team vice-captain and RCB's lynchpin Virat Kohli.

"My only target when I made my Ranji Trophy debut was to pick some wickets for Kerala. I am glad that I did that. But being called to the Team India nets after Ranji matches and now being signed by IPL side RCB was something beyond my wildest dreams," said an elated Sandeep.

Sandeep's impressive show with the ball in the Ranji season, where he picked up 24 wickets from his five matches, saw him being summoned to the Team India nets before the ODI against England in Kochi last Tuesday.

The lanky pacer from Thrissur made quite an impression in the nets a day before the ODI in Kochi and the person who was most impressed by Sandeep's work ethics was Virat Kohli. And it took Kohli only a week to prevail upon the RCB management to have Sandeep in their team.

"Sandeep's name was proposed to us by Virat. He spoke to us and told that the Kerala pacer was an exciting prospect. With a player like Virat proposing his name, all we did was watch some videos of Sandeep's bowling before deciding to offer him a contract," said a top official of RCB, who didn't wish to be named.

It's learnt that Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir and Sandeep's Kerala teammate S Sreesanth, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL, were also keen to have the pacer in their respective squads. But with Kohli moving swiftly, Sandeep decided to sign for Vijay Mallya's side.

And the man who Sandeep credits for his dramatic rise is his coach K Ram Mohan. "I don't think I would have reached the level where I have reached now without his help and guidance. He is the one who has nurtured me and made me believe in my abilities. The Kerala Cricket Association too has offered me great support," added Sandeep.

On the other hand, Ram Mohan believes Sandeep has the potential to play for India. "I want to see him play for India. And this is a big step in that direction. I hope he gets to play for RCB and proves his worth," said an excited coach.

Sandeep won't be the lone Keralite in the RCB squad. Pacer Prasanth Parameshwaran, who joined the side on a one-year contract midway through the last IPL season, has been given a contract extension by RCB.

Someone is always lying when they claim that an upcoming new fast bowler can swing the new ball both ways. I have heard this claim so many times before from even our own Pakistani young bowling prospects only to find out that they can either swing the ball one way or not at all.

Anyway good luck to the young man and hopefully he will give cricket fans plenty of excitement in the future.

Goddamn, for the last time pace is not really the most important thing to pick wickets.

You can bowl 150+ but if you spray the ball all over the place, you cant get Chris Martin out. What's important is to be able to bowl a lively pace, 135+(140+ is even better), move the ball both ways, get good bounce and hit the right areas.

Look at Kulasekara or Philander. They bowl barely 130 but when its swinging, they are kings.

There will always be a bunch of snot nosed kids who get orgasms looking at the speedometer and beat their chests about producing phasssht bowlers but it doesnt mean jack if they cant pick wickets and win matches.

There is one similarity between Indian and Pakistani posters that Indians do not waste any time before posting about a quick bowler who has just bowled one pacy spell in his first season and Pakistanis do not waste any time in posting about an opener who scores his first century even in his very first games....

Now who is better in Pakistan Openers vs Indian Pacers....

I would go with Pakistan openers ...
