Sarfaraz Khan - Another batting talent from India
Scored 45 of 21 balls today against Rajasthan and he is only 17 years old
Played some very innovative shots as well!

Sarfraz khan has loads of time to improve, He is only 17.
He has improved since the last season and looks confident while attempting his shots. He is no Yusuf Pathan who has always been a slogger that cannot improvise.
Sarfraz can improvise and packs some power in his shots. A 17yr old hitting those big shots is amazing to see.

Sarfraz Khan is the new kid on the block.
Didn't watch today's match but the first thing I see to see if a guy is quality is his FC stats.
Now Sarfraz doesn't have a big or even decent sample set but he averages 23, 29 and 16 in First Class, List A and T20 domestic.
Played very few matches so its too early to judge.
As of now, you can't really predict anything.

This is what upsets me the most. When somebody says X,Y,Z is a future prospect on the basis of IPL performance.
What has Bisla done ?
Why is Manish Pandey still not a part of the national squad ?
Where are Paul Valthaty and Swapnil Asnodkar ?
What is Manpreet Gony doing ?
What about Aditya Tare ?
Where is Shadab Jakati ?
Soon to be added... Sarfaraz Khan,Chahal,Surya kumar Yadav,Bumrah etc etc
IPL success rarely translates into international success be it t20,ODI or tests. It has been 8 years and yet we fail to realize it.
Ye sab team mein ayenge toh Manoj Tiwary,Uthappa,KL Rahul,Hanuma Vihari,Kedar Jadhav kahan jayenge ??

Sarfraz's list of disciplinary problems is quiet long including his father's several run ins with selectors regarding his true age, fitness problems, clashes with team mates & coaches, eating disorders, etc.
Has to sort himself out before taking on the pressures of playing intl cricket.

The strike at which he is playing excites me so much.
He played handy innings along with Sanju in u-19 wc against Pakistan last year.
He also played good innings against Scotland along with Hooda when India was in trouble at 23/5.
He will surely play next u-19 wc next year.

you want me to list out Ranji sucesses who have proved to be duds at international level ?
Srafaraz looks like some one who has lots of time when he bats , clean hitter of the ball . None of his shots where slogs . He improvised yes , slogger hes not .

I said this before. India has a huge advantage of IPL. They are able to spot talent more easily. The game is more televised and you can tell which domestic player can "hang with the big boys". The list of players you mentioned is proof. (Dhawan too). More than half the Indian team in the WC was full of IPL finds

He is definitely 17. Look at his size, he is a tiny pudgy boy. He has been junior school cricket since he was a 5 year old boy. He has been trained all his life by his dad for him to be a cricketer. He never attended proper schools. He gets up at 6 AM everyday, practices on a special astro-turf constructed for him. His dad forced him to bat hours at a time under match conditions and forced him to run one round for every time he got out.
He is not a slogger by mentality, he has been brought up to value his wicket to a ridiculous extent (such as today when he refused a risky second on the last ball of the innings, so he could stay not out).
When a player is trained like this and his rise is documented so well, it's very unlikely to be age fudging.

I think simple fact is and people need to realize that no player is an IPL product.
3 months in IPL doesn't make a player
its the hard yards in FC(Ranji) and the parallel list A matches played over the season which makes a player
IPL helps in different ways. Namely, financial along with learning how to deal with pressure and crowds and observing how the elite players conduct themselves.
These things are as important as the skills and talent but doesn't mean that a successful player be deemed an IPL product as a result of it

IPL could be credited if they start picking players at early teen and then groom them, not sure if that's happening anytime soon.RR and CSK have good scouts but they should also develop academies to groom new players.

Sorry for the rant.Couldn't control the frustration.
I am 18 and this Ramesh Powar look alike seems 30+.
This guy debuting for India would be worse than Vinay Kumar getting his test cap at Perth.
Ashwin is the only real talent that has come out of IPL.Lol at Rayadu and Axar.
Our claims of talent emerging from IPL is similar to pak fans boasting of golden era of batsmanship after some tests in UAE .
Manish Pandey was hyped to the moon 6-7 years ago.Yet to make debut for India... clearly suggesting that he is not that good afterall(has had a good 2014-15 domestic season)
Not like i hate all "IPL talents".Sanju,Iyer,Sandeep,Karun and Hooda are good and are real prospects for future.

India should send a team to the World T20 with just the best Indian performers of the last 2-3 IPL seasons and see how they fare. Not take into account their names or international pedigree. For eg. if Kohli isn't part of the best 11 statisticially though IPL then so be it.
Would love to see how the team fares
For all we know the team could get a first round knockout but with a WT20 every 2 yrs I feel its worth sacrificing one tournament to see where do these guys stand

If the Indian T20 side was selected on T20 merit, Rahane, Dhawan, Rayudu wouldn't make it and nor would Jadeja. His T20 batting has regressed a lot and he barely bowls now, so it's tough to see why he should be selected over Tambe or Chahal who are incredibly tough to hit and regularly claim wickets.
