First of all, it makes me glad to tell you that Kurt Angle is alive; that's the most important thing, he is alive, he has recovered from all his past problems and despite his divorce is married to a beautiful woman and has children to live for. There were many points in Kurt's career where I may not be saying this to you on this day but thanks to Allah he is well.

Currently he is under contract with WWE and since returning had assumed the role of general manager and did a great job, as far as matches go he stole the show at the last Wrestlemania with Ronda Rousey as his tag partner, he isn't what he once use to be and he has finally accepted that to (he just doesn't know how to slow down) but his in-ring IQ is still there. Most recently I watched him live in the UK, he put over a young guy called Drew in the most emphatic way possible, only Kurt would do that and making a youngster look like an absolute star, it was sad to see the way he lost but I get it to. I suspect that his in-ring career is coming to an end and we could see a retirement match in the near future but what a career he has had and Kurt can always be entertaining in a non-wrestling role or even as a member of the WWE team in general be it coaching or as a trainer / mentor he has so much to offer.

If you get the chance watch the WWE 24 documentary on Kurt Angle, it honestly deserved an emmy award:

    https://www.facebook.com/paul.steen....type=2&theater

It follows his journey as he returned to the company after 11 years, beware of the onions buddy.

Royal Rumble is looking good on paper.

The title matches should deliver. The only potential trainwreck is Braun vs Brock. They don't really have great chemistry and Brock clearly doesn't respect Braun as much as he does to others. It doesn't help that Braun botched a punch during the triple threat with Kane and Brock.

In terms of the Royal Rumble matches i think Charlotte and Drew/Seth will win.

It was a knee to Brock's face he botched. It was hilarious to watch Brock really showed him he knows how to take down a 7ft giant brought him down to his knees with a brutal punch to the chest then a ferocious jab to the face. Those knocks to the face would have knocked two normal guys out.

Brock actually enjoys working with Braun, mistakes happen and Brock lets you know how it is; he has done so much worse in the past, go watch clips of him giving A-Train an F-5 who for some reason decided to sand bag him. All of Brock/Braun encounters have been intense and Brock has done his bit to really put over the monster among men big time.

The main event of the UK Takeover was great, but for some reason the two decided to do a couple of needless and brainless high spots of the top rope which were not required in that match situation and they ended up botching both times if you ignore those bits overall it was terrific. Rhea Ripley is a superstar, you just knew it watching her in the inaugral maye young tournament and look at her now, Storm on the other hand is at her peak and can hang it with everyone, she has amazing baby face potential; these talents are beyond their years.

I was sad when my favourite British Wrestler ever in Nigel Mcguiness never made it to WWE as an active wrestler for various reasons and unfortunate events but at least he was one of the founding fathers of ROH and became world champion there feuding with the likes of Joe, Bryan and Punk; he was a corner stone of that promotion and his stint in TNA showed what potential he had in the mainstream. But I believe after all these years, Pete Dunne is going to be that guy, I am a bit biased in his favour with him being a local working class hero in my city but he is stylistically a combo off Finlay and Bryan; while they will build the UK base around him, I have faith he will be WWE champion one day and our first world champion from these shores

He will show up, the demon has been booked better then balor to the point where it can be taken seriously to an extent. Balor's persona which is currently designed to appeal to the gay demographic just isn't working and truly exposes his lack of mic skills and in-ring presence. He will have a good match with Brock no doubt but he's not the type of talent that is going to be a travelling world champion who the company rely on to sell house show tickets in territories outside Ireland and the UK.

Lashley had a great match with Rollins this week, couldn't contain himself when he won the IC title; a great moment for him. Enjoying his work over the past month or so, he is an elite talent that belongs right at the top and I wouldn't mind at all if he won the Rumble and challenged Lesnar at mania. He had other ambitions so left the company otherwise he would be up there with the likes of Orton, Cena and Lesnar.

Almas / Rey had another tremendous match, wouldn't mind if this continues until the rubber match at mania; they are capable of so much more and Rey hasn't lost a step, it's actually so scary the man is a freak of nature. SD continues to be very good, RAW has been picking up some momentum finally as we head to the Rumble PPV

Royal Rumble on Sunday!! I actually have no idea who's gonna win this year. Lot of talk about Seth or McIntyre winning it.

In an ideal world I would want Roman to return win the rumble and challenge Dean at Mania for the title he never lost.

More realistically I am predicting Seth to win the Men's Rumble and Becky or Charlotte to win the Women's Rumble.

Also would not mind seeing John Cena win the rumble as when he and Brock go at it they always create magic. Brock vs Cena and Cena winning his 17th world title I wanna see that. Only problem is he probably won't be around for long or at all after Mania. Also 3 time royal rumble winner is a record that belongs to Stone Cold don't want anyone else to win it 3 times.
@shaz619 who do you thinks gonna win the rumble?

I had forgot the RR would be this weekend lol it would be nice if Roman Reigns returned to win it but that is unlikely unfortunately.

It is a bit unpredictable this years RR and while Seth is the favorite am going for Braun Strowman to win the mens RR and Charlotte the womens RR. My final 4 would be Braun, Seth, Joe and Lashley.

I would personally like to see either Samoa Joe or Lashley to win.

Very good card overall, wont be staying up for it due to work the next morning will watch the PPV in the evening on Monday.

Considering staying up for NXT because Keith Thurman vs Lopez will be on the following hour after the event ends but Velveteen Dream is not on the card that kid is a once in a generation talent which don't come around often, I think he will be the first black WWE/Universal champion in history.

I don't know, with Reigns having left it has sort of sucked the life out of these events to an extent for me. But I still follow it but feels strange.

This years Rumble match should be decent with the likes of Rey Mysterio (still in his prime lol) , Almas, Samoa Joe, Mustafa Ali, Randy Orton, Cena, Braun and Seth in it; there's a good chance talent from NXT could make a surprise debut, Velveteen would have to be a possibility in that regard, only reason to keep him off the Takeover show perhaps, maybe some surprise debuts from Japan talent as well

Funniest moments in the Royal Rumble...

    1. No way Jose entire screen time
    2. Curt Hawkins...WHAT A LOL GUY
    3. Nia Jax getting eliminated up by Randy and Rey, the crowed went beserk!

    Royal Rumble epic moments

    1. None really
    2. No surprise heel turns.
    3. No significant returns.
    4. Happy to see Mustafa Ali eliminate Nakamura and Samoa Joe, WWE finally booking a South Asian origin talent in a respectful way.

    Ladies Royal Rumble

    1. Becky Lynch story was brilliant
    2. The rest was pointless, boring, too long and a botchfest. Ladies have improved significantly since the attitude era but the botches are far too many in a match that lasts over 1 hour and needs to be filled up with 17-20 rookie stars. Only Charlotte, Becky, Alexa, Bayley and a few others looked professional in there.

    Matches
    1. Brock v Balor was exciting.
    2.

Lesnar proved again why there is no one truly ready to take the belt of him, he has been carrying the company on his shoulders for about 5 years now; Reigns was the one guy who had been built up quite well and forged main event level legitimacy but has left, now WWE find themselves in a tough spot. But Seth is the right choice for them to build RAW brand around moving forward. No pure baby face talent aged between 30-35 on the main roster has the IT factor for me though. Overall the Rumble was decent. Becky was the most over wrestler on the PPV

People be hating on Brock too much these days, but I guess he is a heel. Honestly I can not ever see Braun putting on a match as good as Brock has against Aj, Bryan or Finn. Brock is supreme worker and he knows what he is doing. Unfortunate that his matches with Reigns did not meet the level they could of. (But their Main Event at Mania 31 is one of my favorites) However, apart from that and the Braun matches Brock has put on clinics with everyone. When Brock is in the mood there is no one better than him in the company right now, he is the top guy in the company right now and rightfully so. Sometimes you just can't help but want more of Brock though when he puts on performances like that.

However with that said, we're all gonna go crazy about Brock when he shows up weather he has the title or not. So it is high time that Brock drop the title at Mania and deserving so to Seth Rollins. Not to mention that match could very well steal the show.

People underestimate Braun big time he is a terrific performer for a man his size and has been putting in some amazing performances these past few years, unfortunately WWE have failed to pull the trigger every time the iron was hot. Braun would have great matches with all those names you mention and given the contrast in styles it would make for great viewing, sure though Brock is on another level; he is the last of a dying breed, a guy who values the industry more then anyone, he is working the audience every single second whether during live TV, off air, in or out the ring, during an interview or segment; he is a real pro and is a tremendous in the art which is selling in all areas. I never saw this as a mood issue because he always works the style that is expected from him in the ring, he's a former UFC champion that ended the streak and needs to be dominant; a guy of his class is a throwback to legendary champions like Bruno who didn't have to take too many bumps because they worked smarter and had legitimacy behind every little thing they did which was all that was needed. But there have been times when if you don't command Brock's respect then he will let you know it, but if you go out to bat for him then he will put you over big time.

Speaking of Seth Rollins, what is his actual character / persona ? did you listen to his promo on the RAW after wining the Rumble? it was God Awful mate, it upsets me that a generic CAW from the WWE games is our saviour, I hope that with this investment the company also work closely with him to establish a baby face personality and character work which we all expected to be pretty good as it would compliment his in-ring work, heck Mustafa Ali has more of a personality then Seth as a face whos best run has been as a heel

ROMAN REIGNS IS RETURNING BABY! Can't wait for Raw Tonight think this will be the first time I am watching WWE since the rumble ever since Reigns left and Styles dropped the title I haven't really watched any WWE.

Not even the road to Wrestlemania has been enough to draw me back. No Reigns, No Cena, No Taker, No Jericho, AJ doesn't even seem to be doing anything of importance. The one feud I would of loved to see play out properly and main event this years show was Seth vs Dean. I mean Dean Ambrose had the best heel turn you could of asked for and from there on in everything just went sour. Hoping Roman's doing well and can return soon because I have always been a huge fan of his but ever since he's been gone I have realized how important he is to WWE. Y'all can say what you want about Vince and how he was booking Roman terribly but fact of the matter is Roman's push worked. No other full time superstar apart from maybe Styles is at the level of Roman Reigns and his absence is showing this.

That was an amazing moment, one of the best in RAW history. Like he said, one step at a time and I hope they take his time with him although I'd love to see him on the WM card which I will have the privilege to attend live but health comes first. Both RAW and SD have been very good on the Road to WM. It also got me in the feels to see Joe win the US title, had flash backs of him as the ROH and X-Division champion during the early 2000's and it's scary how hasn't noticeably lost a step, he is gold on the mic, can still pull off all his greatest hits in the ring and his ring-generalship is just as good; a motivated Joe who you show respect is capable of elite performances on a consistent basis; after the horrid treatment from TNA towards the end of his run, he came to NXT and even I felt as if his best days were behind him but then that match with Balor in Takeover London just proved me wrong and showed that there is plenty of magic left in the old warrior. It seems to me either Cena or Mustafa Ali could be his WM opponents.

The debut by Ali on PPV was one of the best performances I have ever seen, it was truly incredible; and while this guy has spent a fair amount of time honing is craft all over the world he is by no means a seasoned vet like a Kevin Owens for example who came in and had that amazing match with Cena on his PPV debut. The selling, the bumps, pacing and ring generalship overall was great, onwards and upwards from here for Mustafa.

The Shield allegedly reunited for one night only, it was a very emotionally charged match and the crowd were all really into it. The split may well be a smoke-screen and I don't like adding my thoughts on what could happen as it may lead to a spoiler and it just ruins the moment for everyone but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if this truly was the final hurrah for all three as a unit, in many ways I think it is but for this reason Wrestlemania is a must watch; also the card is shaping up really well. Styles / Orton has been a dream match of mine for ages, loved the promo between the two this week.

Batista is sort of retired anyway and is barely around or a full time roster member so it makes no sense to put his career on the line plus I am pretty sure he has said many many times that he would like to have his final match vs HHH at mania.

And HHH put his career on the line ? are you serious ? that guy will not retire until he has won every single championship active and boost his statistical career resume. When all is said and done, there will be a special wing in the HOF for Hunter specifically.

    Confirmed:

    Ronda/Charlotte/Becky - Raw Women's Title

    Lesnar/Rollins - Universal Title

    Orton/Styles

    Batista/HHH - No Holds Barred

    Shane/Mizz

    Possibilities:

    Angle's Farewell Retirement Match

This is bound to be extremely emotionally charged, there has been rumour that Cena could be Angle's final opponent and that would be poetic/fitting in many ways.

Rey / Joe / Ali / Andrade - I think all 4 should be involved in a US title match, perhaps in a ladder match ?

Daniel Bryan / Kofi Kingston - WWE Championship, this is a possibility and it would be a huge mark out moment if Kofi was to win, I will only believe it if I see it but I always did feel as if the New Day had a world title campaign in them after all there is nothing else to conquer and they pull main event level merch, but never did I think it would be Kofi chasing the dream, I had felt it would be Big E; but like Vince always says, he knows what we want ;)

I think on paper this years mania has potential to be one of the greatest of all time

Along the way heís helped establish or resurrect many wrestlers careers though. Heís bit of a genius at that.

I donít like it when they set his matches up in hurry though. If you give HHH time heís a real master at selling a story. He does it as good as anyone ever IMO. His WM21 match with Batista for instance has the most classic build up. The way they handled Batistaís journey in Evolution, they just donít do it like that anymore. It was sort telling Mat his best. For the whole year all of us were anticipating just when Batista would turn his back against Evolution. They did not hurry it. The timing was perfect and that match was a classic.

HHH pulled off the same with Daniel Bryan later. Thatís what heís capable of when the writers give him enough time to sell a story.

99% of the time he has ruined careers and only time he did some good was when he had a personal interest and took all the credit for it rather then genuinely wanting to help elevate a wrestlers career. On top of that, unless he is working with a better wrestler or with some smokes/mirrors he is going to stink the joint.

Looking forward to Mania this year, Styles v Orton, HHH v Batista, Becky v Charlotte v Ronda, and Daniel Bryan v Kofi are all going to be excellent matches. However if given the right amount of time I feel AJ/Orton will be the best match of the night and one that will be very hard to follow up.

Also interesting that there is no sign of Undertaker or John Cena on this years Mania card. Looking forward to see what they do at mania this year. Would have liked to see Taker vs Finn (demon) in a Hell in a Cell match, and Joe vs Cena is another match I wanted to see but seems like those are off the table.

Honestly mate, the backstage politics, insecurity, resume and careers he has ruined speak volumes; don't be fooled by the NXT charade. Batista's touched on it during his promo this week to, often what makes a good promo is when the lines are blurred between a shoot and kayfabe. But I will never be fooled by HHH having followed his career from day one the stuff which we are aware of factually that has occurred in the ring in feuds he was involved in and interviews with wrestlers who crossed his path or his positioning in the company. There is nothing he can do which will ever make me forgive him the same way how @Hitman feels about Hogan, HHH also planted the seeds in Vinces mind regarding the Montreal Screwjob; quite a few people don't know this, but when they do it is easy to put 2 and 2 together when you look at how Bret still has animosity till this day towards HHH when he has forgiven both Shawn and Vince.

    These are his highlights:

    - Marriage to Stephanie
    - Being the architect of the Montreal Screwjob, he pitched the idea to Vince.
    - Firing CM Punk on his wedding day and forcing him to leave by making his working life a living hell.
    - First Heel in the history of Wrestlemania to go over in a main-event when The Rock had so much momentum at the time, subsequently left the arena after ECW style trash was being thrown at him.

    - In a feud which had racial undertones where HHH was belittling Booker T for his past and implying that african american are all crooks who deserved to be locked up while someone like himself deserves the very best, then he'd go on to WM and beat Booker thus proving his claims to be true in the confines of kayfabe.

    - Golberg was an unstoppable force in WCW, the moment he came to WWE; Triple H periodically destroyed his aura and mystique.
    - Beat Brock Lesnar on his Wrestlemania return after he had become the undisputed UFC world champion
    - RVD: He was one of the biggest stars to come out with so much momentum in the controversial WCW v WWF storyline, in a high profile match with HHH he was defeated and sent back to the mid-card
    - Kane: Every time he was on the brink of super-stardom HHH buried him between 2001-2004, HHH beat him multiple times and famously unmasked the fan favourite turning him heel.

    - The Mizz: There is actual footage off HHH refusing to shake his hand right after he won the world title !!! until he realised he was on camera lol when you see this, it's not hard to believe the dirt sheets and past interviews where he reportedly talks down the entire locker-room constantly and puts himself on a pedestal.
    - Chris Jericho had one hell of a career which should have been even better on the level of an Austin or Rock had it not been for HHH who had a weird vendetta against him purely because he made the switch to WCW, HHH would bury him on and off screen, never allowing him to take off every time he found momentum; Jericho was more qualified to be positioned alongside Rock/Austin during those days but HHH prevented that, Jericho also speaks about this in his book when it came to how petty HHH was towards him.
    - Scott Steiner: Nothing more needs to be said.

-Championships: You look at the number of championships he has won and their length, his insecurity couldn't become more adamant when the names listed above were far more qualified then him to be given the same opportunities.
    - Wrestling ability: He has been working the same style and pace since 1996 and has not evolved at all, without the smokes and mirrors in the form of gimmick matches or superior in-ring talents he is in capable of having a good match and it often results in ruining the reputation of his opponents because HHH has this idea in his mind that he is both Ric Flair and Harley Race combined, recall his match with Reigns at mania during a time when he had so much heat; HHH proceeded to stink the joint by trying to force an epic pre-meditated 30 min match, there is no 2nd gear or ability for him to be flexible with the layout, he needs someone like a Shawn, Bryan or Benoit for example to help him along the way in singles action; despite his experience the ring IQ is very very poor till this day.
-Promos: He can be good on promos if he's not on every week because there is no creativity in that small brain of his.

    Myth

We should forgive HHH because he a) put Batista over and b) the NXT roster

    a) Batista was Vinces pet project which he wasn't going to be able to sabotage regardless but he gave into primarily so he could take all the credit in the world after Batista came up as an option from OVW to form Evolution

    b) This is a good one because it compliments a) really well. For the same reason, the one thing which has always alluded HHH has been adulation from the smark fan base; but not anymore, while the NXT idea on the surface comes from a place of good will, it is not out of this world to say that they get a chance at the big time also because HHH's ego gets a big massage especially when the fans and talent themselves owe it to him. I do agree that this is the best way to contain his ego because it could be so much worse.

But this just a small example of his deceitful ways, so forgive me if I am hating him too much but am sure majority of the long term fans will not blame me for it. The one guy I will give him credit for putting over is Benoit at WM 20, the respect he had for him and his stabilises was genuine for once.

Am happy with the card apart from Corbin being Angle's final opponent in his farewell match, Kurt deserves so much better and am hoping this is a part of the story line heading into mania because someone like a Cena would be perfect to give Kurt the send off he deserves and he wont be working with Joe and Taker's appearance has not been confirmed so not sure if he will be working this PPV.

Really want to see Cena or Taker face off with Kurt. Ideally the best opponent for Kurt's last match in my mind would be Brock Lesnar their rivalry and the matches they had were just AMAZING. Not to mention Brock and Kurt are pretty close friends and so if Kurt was gonna have the perfect last match to his career it would be against either Brock as I am sure Brock would work his a** off to give Kurt the proper send off, or either against AJ because AJ just doesn't have a bad match against anyone, not to mention Kurt and AJ have faced dozens of times before too. However, both those guys are booked up for wrestlemania and so I hope Cena will face Angle in his last match as he truly deserves a proper match and a star to go out in his last match against.

I also wish that WWE didn't announce this was going to be Angle's last match and did something similar to how they retired Flair. Instead of Flair it could of been Kurt, and instead of Shawn it could of been AJ/Cena.

InshaAllah either of those names will be his opponent, my instinct is telling me the selection of Corbin is premeditated to intentionally get heat. You're right, Lesnar would be the dream fantasy farewell opponent given how he was Kurt's greatest rival imo; AJ could be another candidate in that role given his history with Kurt as well.

True, that would have been more interesting but considering how kayfabe isn't what it use to be I don't mind them announcing a farewell match instead of a retirement match. The main thing is making sure he is given a high profile opponent who does for him what HBK did for Flair at WM 24, regardless it's going to be my absolute honour and privilege to be there at the final wrestling match of his career given how he was one of my all time favourites growing up, I was also there in Manchester when Drew destroyed Kurt with his own moves and I left the arena in pure disgust didn't even wait for the post match angle / dark main event lmao so it's only fitting that hopefully at mania Kurt is given the best baby face pay off possible.

What if we see a situation where Angle beats Corbin in under a minute and then announces another Angle open challenge only for Cena to answer the challenge and makes his entrance via basic thugonamics #RuthlessAggression

Thatís what heís capable of when the writers give him enough time to sell a story.

    .
There is another way of looking at it. CM Punk was right when he told Triple H that he did not have to face Triple H at WM, it was Triple H who had to face Punk to stay in the limelight. No wonder, Punk walked out and Triple H inserted himself in the match with Bryan.

The issues which led to his eventual departure were a lot more deep rooted then that although HHH was the biggest architect of making Punk's life a living hell long before that. As for the match itself, I don't think it would have been too bad if am honest; as a feud it would have been very good and Punk had a reputation for carrying limited opponents to a classic, Punk use to use the pepsi plunge in the indies (pedigree off the top rope); god forbid a scenario where Punk hits that move on HHH to win the match creating a great moment, that would just be too damaging for HHH's ego....but Punk long campaigned for and deserved to main event mania, that was his dream and they were never going to give it to him. It made the most sense at WM 29

I think what was even worse then that was when he got Sting to cut a promo in the build to the match where he basically put over HHH in the most emphatic way you could imagine to the point where Sting was forced to bury his own character and WCW.

In terms of the Wrestlemania matches, I'm looking forward to AJ vs Orton, Kofi vs DB and Batista vs HHH. Pretty decent matches those, but that's about all I'm excited for. I would like the Undertaker to make an appearance, perhaps a quick match, or just a chokeslam/tombstone, would be nice just to see him there.

2019 WWE WrestleMania 35 results, grades, review, matches: Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston steal the show

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- History was made in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 35 when a trio of women headlined the show of shows for the first time in company history. Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair squared off in a triple threat for both women's championships, which fan favorite Lynch took home to cap a tremendous seven months in her career. Elsewhere on the card, Kofi Kingston became just the second African American to capture the WWE championship when he beat Daniel Bryan, and Seth Rollins slayed the beast by taking down Brock Lesnar for the universal championship.

In fact, seven of the nine titles defended at WrestleMania 35 changed hands, and fan favorites overwhelmingly went over the heels on Sunday night. A MetLife Stadium-record $16.9 million was grossed from the event -- the highest figure the stadium has ever pulled. WWE announced 82,265 fans for the show, the third-most in WrestleMania history. CBS Sports was with you the entire way Sunday, updating this story with the latest results and highlights from the biggest show of the year. Overall WrestleMania grade: B+

    WWE WrestleMania 35 results, grades
Cruiserweight Championship -- Tony Nese def. Buddy Murphy (c) via pinfall to win the title (Kickoff Show): Talk about a perfect way to get things started on the kickoff show with this high-energy opener. Nese scored the surprising upset with a win that could mean a call-up is in Murphy's future following a memorable six-month title reign. The match perfectly melded the aerial artistry of 205 Live and the cruiserweight division with the stiff striking often seen in Japan. Murphy suffered a cut above his left eye early and Nese nearly scored an early pinfall following an impressive springboard moonsault from the apron. Nese continued to impress corkscrew moonsaults and a 450 splash, each of which could only draw a two count. The finish came after Nese was able to extend his foot to the rope to avoid losing following be hit by Murphy's Law. Nese came right back with a German suplex of Murphy into the second turnbuckle and a running knee in the corner for the 1-2-3. If it's time for WWE to give Murphy more to do, the Australian appears ready. Grade: B+

Carmella wins the Women's Battle Royal (Kickoff Show): For as little fanfare or expectations this match had coming in, the good news is that the match wasn't a train wreck. Ember Moon successfully returned from a six-month injury break and connected with an Eclipse off the top rope on Mandy Rose along with a couple other cutters. The Riott Squad received strong booking throughout and teamed up for a series of eliminations until Dana Brooke rallied to eliminate Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott. Logan appeared to have the match won after eliminating Sonia Deville and Asuka in succession, but Carmella dove back into the ring from where she was hiding and eliminated Logan with a super kick. Grade: C

Raw Tag Team Championship -- Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins def. The Revival via pinfall to win the titles (Kickoff Show): This may not have been Brock Lesnar upsetting The Undertaker five years ago, but Hawkins' epic streak of a different kind came to a dramatic end in his backyard. Hawkins, whose gimmick losing streak had extended to 0-269, joined his fellow New Yorker in Ryder to create quite the WrestleMania moment. Wrestling from underneath throughout as Revival relied on old school tactics to double team and distract the referee, the underdog duo was able to rally following a series of big moves that led up to the finish. A suplex attempt from Ryder on Wilder sent both tumbling over the top rope with Ryder hitting his head on the apron. Dawson then hit Hawkins with a brainbuster onto the floor. But after a series of near falls late, Hawins rolled up Dawson for the pin as the duo formerly known as the Major Brothers recaptured tag team for the first time in over a decade. Grade: C+

Braun Strowman wins the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Show): Despite a somewhat uneasy build to this match, featuring a feud between Strowman and a pair of "Saturday Night Live" stars, the payoff turned out to be high comedy and a fun piece of business. Colin Jost and Michael Che, hosts of the NBC program's "Weekend Update" segment, ran out and hid under the ring at the opening bell. The preceding match was a good mix of spots and hard-bump eliminations, including Strowman kicking Luke Harper and Ali off the apron as Harper, who had his first televised match in seven months, was attempting a suplex. Late in the match, Andrade landed a hurricanrana on Apollo Crews off the apron that accidentally eliminated both. As Strowman then tangled with the Hardy Boyz, the SNL stars returned to unsuccessfully eliminate him from behind. Strowman, who set a match record for eliminations, dumped Matt and Jeff Hardy before stopping a fearful Che from a self-elimination only to punch him off the apron. Jost, who played the heel role well by wearing a Cleveland Browns jersey of former New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr., was hoisted up and thrown onto a crowd of wrestlers outside to end the match. Grade: B

WrestleMania host Alexa Bliss introduces Hulk Hogan: Bliss opened the show and told the crowd she had them in the palm of her hand and could create a WrestleMania moment with the snap of her fingers. When she did just that, Hogan's music hit and he cut his normal promo, jokingly calling the stadium the Pontiac Silverdome before actually making a mistake and calling it the MetLife Center.

Universal Championship -- Seth Rollins def. Brock Lesnar (c) via pinfall to win the title: Once the opening segment ended, Paul Heyman power walked to the ring and said if Lesnar was not main eventing, he was fighting first and getting out of New York so he could jump on a plane to Las Vegas where he's "ultimately appreciated." This surprise opening match was as violent as it was short. It was also well booked. Lesnar jumped Rollins before he even reached the ring and delivered an extended beating before the match began, which included an F5 on the floor and multiple tosses into the ringside barrier and over the announce table. Rollins, whose back was covered in swollen red blotches, eventually used a low blow to change momentum following three straight German suplexes after the bell finallyy rang. Rollins rallied to hit a trio of Stomp finishers to get the upset win as Lesnar sold the injuries in the center of the ring for an extended period. Just like in the WrestleMania 31 main event four years ago, Rollins exited by swinging the title at the top of the ramp. The clean and decisive nature of the finish leads one to believe that Lesnar, who suffered just his second defeat in the past two-plus years in WWE, will take an extended break in order to return to UFC for a rumored heavyweight title shot against Daniel Cormier in August. Grade: B-

AJ Styles def. Randy Orton via pinfall: Styles may have been forced to wait until age 38 to make his WrestleMania debut, but the "Phenomenal One" continues to build an impressive resume on the brightest stage. While not necessarily an instant classic, this matchup between all-time greats told a heck of a story. Styles was lucky to avoid a trio of RKO attempts throughout the match until Orton finally landed his vaunted finisher only for Styles to kick out in dramatic fashion. Styles landed the spot of the match when he connected with a stiff springboard Phenomenal Forearm onto the floor. On his way back into the ring, Styles attempt at one more forearm was initially countered by an RKO attempt by Orton. Styles, however, countered him back with a chin-breaker on the ropes and followed with a perfect forearm finisher. Grade: B

The raw after Wrestlemania wasn't all that great. It was nice to see undertaker, but I was more disappointed with it, if he could turn up on raw the night after then surely he could have done the same thing at Wrestlemania. So yeah I was unhappy about that, as there wasn't much sense to it.

Other than that, Corbin beating angle is only going to be good for his career, happy for him. Thought Batista may have turned up, to say goodbye, but I think he had a good enough send off with a match v hhh, really enjoyed that.

I imagine raw and Smackdown lacking alot of starpower going forward.

Former WWE star Ashley Massaro has died at the age of 39 after being taken to hospital from her home in Long Island.

The wrestler and model, who competed in WWE between 2005 and 2008, died of "non-criminal causes", Suffolk County Police say.

WWE says it's "saddened to learn of the tragic death of former Superstar Ashley Massaro" and offers its condolences to her family.

Ashley joined the WWE in 2005 after winning its Raw Diva Search.

    That earned her a $250,000 (£195,000) one-year contract.

Two years later she went on to compete in the most high-profile match of her career, against Melina at Wrestlemania 23 for the WWE Women's Championship.

She fought at Wrestlemania again the following year.

Wrestlers old and new paid tribute to Ashley and shared memories of their time with her in WWE.

She passed away ten days before her 40th birthday.

Her cause of death is currently not known.
