I saw Aziz Ansari show on Netflix, and he just seemed like an irritating little twerp. There's a stand up Asian guy in Australia who is much better.

Dave Chapelle even though "retired" is still the best comedian out there.

Omid Djalili used to be great and his show was excellent, especially his Henry the VII and Nigerian accent skits.

Watched a lot of Russel Peters a few years back.

Right now, Russel Howard is good and not many else out there.

    Too many

Bill Hicks and Richard Pryor - Legends and the fathers of Stand Up.
Bill Bailey - English humor coupled with Music, Ouuuud.
Dylan Moran - Hilarious Irish, with the scruffy image, was great with Bill Bailey in Black Books.
Doug Stanhope - The Bill Hicks of this era.
Jimmy Carr - Foul mouthed, witty one liners, basic guilty pleasure. Especially love it when someone tries to heckle him.
Eddie Izzard - Executive Transvestite. Master at stand up improv.
Omid Djalil - Only has the Live at the Palladium but still hilarious.

Will post more as I recall.

Hate the Dane Cooks and Kevin Harts though.

Well I didn't watch Notting Hill but I didn't recognise him in Shawn of the Dead and only went searching back when I saw his name in the credits.

All-time greats: George Carlin and Dave Chappelle

Among the current lot: Aziz Ansari, Trevor Noah, Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr, Anthony Jeselnik, Demetri Martin, Kumail Nanjiani, Hannibal Buress

I found Russell Peters funny in my teens but my taste in comedy has evolved over the years. He is simply too one-dimensional and has beaten the whole accent thing to death. Good for him though he has made millions off his crappy jokes.

Netflix is doing this thing where they have a new comedy stand-up special every week. I have been following them eagerly. I skipped the Amy Schumer one because that woman makes me cringe so hard my eyes will pop out, I hate her with a passion. Apart from that waste of skin the others have been pretty good, last week the special from some guy called Michael Che and it had me laughing the entire time. Trevor Noah also did one too and it was as good as expected. Dave Chappelle is supposed to do two or three. The first Dave Chappelle special airs tomorrow.

Dave Chappelle may be one of the greatest comedians ever, but I feel his best material came in the "Chapelle Show" , which isn't technically standup .

    Jimmy Carr.

Dark humour but his delivery is exceptional.

Dave Chapelle, Russell Peters, and Chris D'elia are terrific at what they do too.

Dave Chapelle, George Carlin, Richard Prior.

Out of the newer acts I like Ian Edwards, Jim Jeffries, Bill Bur and Ali Wong.

Ali Wong had an amazing stand up show last year I think its called Baby Cobra.

I love edgy controversial and dark comedy (can practically listen to rants all day long ), so here's my list: (Based on current favorite)

    1) Bill Burr (Best.....Rants.....Ever !!)
    2) Greg Davis (Hilarious Dude - His life experiences are just out of this world!!)
    3) Jimmy Carr (The daddy of Dark humor)
    4) Ricky Gervais (At one point in time he was my all time Favorite, especially with all those XFM releases and his rants with 'head like an ****** orange' aka Karl Pilkington - Just go and watch their Speaking English Tutorial for a quick laugh)
    5) Romesh Ranganathan (The only Family-friendly comedian I can stand to listen these days)
    6) Louis CK (Although many rate him their best I believe he's a step below the other above 5)

    Honorable Mentions:

    1) Jon Stewart (Back in the days he would literally take everyone to the cleaners !! Loved the guy)
    2) Craig Ferguson (learned how to flirt literally by listening to this bloke all day long )
    3) Trevor Noah (Extremely underrated)
    4) Chris Rock (A very good comedian - on his day, but gives off too much of an American vibe)
    5) Jerry Seinfeld
