Is Jurgen Klopp the right choice for Liverpool?

Klopp has signed for a lucrative deal at Anfield and brings with him a big reputation. Do you feel he is the right choice to be manager at Liverpool?

I think if the players accept his philosophy and training methods he can be a big hit. His style is relentless and aggressive which suits a stadium like Anfield and Liverpool. Players like Sturridge will struggle under Klopp. Idk if Sturridge will be able to play that relentless style with his injury woes.

Certainly. It's actually remarkable that a club without Champions' League football and 10th in the league table has somehow managed to land one of the best managers available in the world.

Whether he succeeds or not is up for debate (I believe he will), there is absolutely no debating if he is the right choice for Liverpool. They literally couldn't have dreamt of anyone better for the situation they're currently in.

Liverpool needs someone aggressive who can beat up his own players to get the best out of them. Klopp is their man. I hope he didn't become a softy after that short break

No doubt that he is good.

But will he be able to attract the players to Liverpool or will he make another Dormand and polish talent only to sell them off to bigger clubs.

He will get the best out of can and firminho and the other Europeans for sure

Rodgers arguably preferred English players , which is understable
Jordan Ibe is currently a weak link, shame markovic is still at fenerbahce

Well it seems like the Klopp bubble has burst in January.

Tough month with Liverpool horribly out of form.

He is the right choice when it comes to attack minded Football. Doesn't have the slightest of clues as to how to build a defence. The whole world knows our defence is the worst in the league yet he has not bought anyone to improve the backline this month when he had the chance. This excuse of the correct players not being available doesn't wash with me for one minute it's his his job to find them. I am sicking with him at last for now, will have to reconsider my views if we don't finish in the top four. Losing to the likes of Swansea, Bournmouth and Wolves is not being out of form rather a terrible defence was responsible for it.

He knew that Mane would be missing during the African Cup so should have compensated for that somehow. Any manager or team or manager that depends on one player is in big trouble.

off course u dont want to be in that position but i dont think even klopp expected to be challenging for the league in his first full season. but manec settled ridiculously well with those around him which set the expectation bar a little bit highr than it originally was for the season.
then u lost your 2 best players who were key to raising the expectation hugher than it was originally.

Klopp is the right choice for liverpool. However he needs to understand that the high pressing fast pace game can not be sustained in the premier league over long periods of time and a change of tactics needs to be used at times. Also liverpool defensively are just as shambolic as they were under rogers and that needs to change under klopp which it hasnt. I do think that liverpool will make top 4 which would be a good achievement for klopp and liverpool.

Klopp needs to be given good money to spend by the owners who have thus far given him almost nothing in net spending. I am beginning to seriously worry that we could be having Gillette/Hicks syndrome all over again here with the Fenway Group just in it for the profit like the previous owners were. I am not buying Jurgen Klopp's excuses of not being able to find the right players in January. The problem is not Klopp but the owners it seems, they seem to be doing to him what Gillette and Hicks were to Rafa Benitez.

    He's becoming Klopp the flop.

    2-0 loss to Hull today.

So much for him being the messiah at Anfield.

I can't judge him unless he has been given some money to spend. At the moment giving him a six year contract seems to be a bit of a tragedy in the making as Didi Hamann pointed out. Liverpool squad is short of quality and depth. It lacks players who will make the telling difference, it absolutely lacks the killer instinct. Enough of signing squad players now. Klopp needs to bring some serious big money players in the summer otherwise we will continue to be also ran's.

Liverpool had no european football this season so should have been challenging on all other fronts but the sqaud side and overall quality has been exposed and one wonders if they could even cope if they had european football as well. A lot of work for klopp to do.

Klopp's blind belief in the squad and stubbornness in the transfer market will stop Liverpool from winning the title. To win the title Liverpool need to buy some new players, a specialist LB would be a starting place, alongside a good CDM that can cover the defence. Sell Sturridge and buy a striker than can score goals, you can't just rely on Mane. Despite all this, I think he's still a good choice for Liverpool.

In my book Liverpool are still way short of being serious title contenders. The fault is with the owners more then Klopp. We are net spending a pathetic £30 million or something most summers that is small change for the likes of Chelsea and Man City in particular. We need five world class players in each position for starters. Goalies are both crap, I don't understand why Joe Hart who has been linked with us so often has not been signed. Also need a dominant defender, midfielder, winger and centre forward as well whilst retaining all the stars from the current side. Biggest problem is that when we do sign quality it is normally at the expense of selling some of our best players. The owners need to net spend about £200 million in the summer to take us up there with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City but they are more interested in Boston Red Socks then they are in LFC.

Klopp is the German Waqar Younis.

Dehati mindsets, run their players into the ground, fail to beat the teams they should and survive on mythical status and past glories. He's won 3 trophies in 16 years in the German league where there is massive disparity between the top and bottom and nowhere near as competitive as the Premier League or even La Liga.

He's failed to address the gaping holes in the squad, namely up front and in defence. Two midfielders in the back four says it all. In the league we're capable of beating teams who suit our style but when sides are defending deep, are compact and can target us from set pieces we are nullified.

And he's bottled two cup finals. He needs to stop deluding himself about the strength of the squad and invest in ready made talent in the summer not gamble on kids who we'll probably sell anyway if they're any good like Sterling.

Mate lets remember that Rodgers had Suarez at the time who carried Liverpool for a few seasons on his own. He was signed by Dalglish not Brendan Rodgers. My post 21 on this thread is what is wrong at Lverpool, in simple terms the squad just isn't strong enough.

Actually I already saw that point in response to the tweet I posted.

Tbh haven't had much time to watch football this season besides Chelsea matches.
