Made it a bit easier to work with. That way a 35-40 averaging part-timer won't be equal to say a 40+ averaging part-timer. Any issues lemme know. Chow has got to go. Have a good one y'all.

    Bowlers

Points for players according to bowling average

    under 20 = 7000 points
    20 to 25 = 6000 points
    25 to 30 = 5000 points
    30 to 35 = 4000 points
    35 to 40 = 3000 points
    over 40 = 2000 points

    All-rounders

For genuine all-rounders add up batting and bowling points

Note: If a bowler averages more than 24 with the bat he’ll be considered as an all-rounder.

    Part-timers

    Batting points + Bowling points - 500

Note: Bowling average must be 35+ and must have a minimum of 25 Test wickets. Also cannot average more than a wicket a game.

Because he won't be a bowling option Mo. Similar to say Steve Waugh or Watson being picked as a specialist bat etc.

    e.g. Shane Watson [All-rounder - 7500 points (Test batting ave 35.2 + Test bowling ave 34)]

Now if a team buys him as a batsman for 3500 points there’s not much of an issue because he won’t be considered as a bowling option when it comes to voting. He’ll be just a batsman.

However if a team buys him as a bowler for 4000 points we have a problem because he’ll be a batsman as well regardless.

So let’s make it that if a bowler averages more than 24 with the bat he’ll be considered as an all-rounder. I think that should close that loophole.

Good going fellas. So we are up to @amit. He was saying that he'll only be online 9pm-1am IST and the current time there is around 9:30am so we are looking at a 12+ hour wait. So to keep things moving along we can give him a few more hours till noon IST and if he doesn't turn up we can skip him for now and allow him to make his pick whenever he comes online. That sounds fair I think.

I am in central time zone and it is almost midnight here so I will not pick a player for the next 8 hours. This should give sufficient time to @amit and @SL_Fan to name their picks.

Also if @The_Odd_One turns up he can make his pick now. That way there won't be a hold up there as well.
I can make my pick now after you

    So chow's turn it is

He’s widely regarded as one of the finest ever left-handed Test bats to play the game. He scored his maiden FC century when he was just 16 and then notched up his first Test ton in Australia at the age of 19. Unfortunately due to SA’s isolation he only got to play 23 Tests but in those he scored 2256 runs at an average of 61 including five hundreds and two double tons. He is none other than great Graeme Pollock (Batsman) 6500 points.

Long story short @amit was meant to make his pick but thought he might only be online from 9pm-1am IST. So the plan was to give him a couple of hours and then skip him. Then The_Odd_One turned up so told him to make his pick before me while I wait a couple of hours for amit to show up so things don't come to a halt again. Then amit somehow showed up for a bit and disappeared. From there things got mixed up and you had your turn. I waited over an hour for amit to come back online but he was a no show. So then I made my pick and here we are

Not such a short story after all. Enough there to make a movie out of it. Maybe even a sequel.

    I pick Gordon Greenidge, averages 44.72, cost 4000 .
He's the one of the best and destructive opening batsman in his time. His brutal unbeaten 214 at Lord's in 1984, to set up a nine-wicket win after England had had the temerity to declare, is considered one of the great innings
