He is widely regarded as New Zealand’s greatest ever batsman. Sadly he passed away way too soon earlier this year. But he'll forever be remembered as one of the most elegant batsmen to play the game. In the 1992 World Cup he was named the player of the tournament and averaged a beastly 114 striking at well over 90 with the bat. In the 1987 World Cup he was brilliant as well and averaged 37 striking at around the 95 mark. He was also an outstanding fielder and a great leader. The Chow Corner's next pick is the great Martin Crowe [Batsman] 3500.

My next pick is Craig McDermott for 4500 points.

Those of you who do not know much about Craig McDermott:

    1. He was Australia's fast bowling attack leader before McGrath.
    2. He averages 24 with the ball with 4 economy picking 203 wickets in just 138 matches.
    3. He picked 18 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 19 in the 1987 world cup.
    4. He was a very handy lower order slogger.

He owned Viv Richards with his bowling:

He owned Wasim Akram with his batting:

My next pick is the Irish all-rounder Kevin O'Brien for 5500 points

Kevin O'Brien has been a key player for Ireland and deserved to play for a better team or get more opportunities in cricket. But even in the limited opportunities he got, he made a name for himself

His most important innings being the 113 off 63 balls against England in 2011 WC when he helped Ireland chase down 328 to win despite being 111/5 after 25 overs

I was talking about my 1st 8 picks. Not today's picks. Today all what I needed was a explosive batsman to bat at 6 and a wicket-keeper. I was yet to pick a wicket-keeper and all keepers were gone. Stewart was the only good keeper left. If Stewart also went, I would have had to choose from 1 of the 3 Dinesh or pick Kamran Akmal

Actually started his career at WA as a bog average batsmen who wasn't going to be good enough until the coach noted his part time bowling wasn't actually that bad.

Kevin O'Brien is a champion player anyways. We don't see players coming in at 111/5 chasing 328 with everything stacked against them and then blasting the fastest 100 in world cups off 50 balls and taking their team to win against all odds

He deserved to play for a better team than what he played for. If not, then atleast get loads of more opportunities to play

Hence, the Youtube videos and his career highlights

    I already have:
The most consistent bowler - McGrath
    World's fastest bowler - Akhtar
    Best ODI spinner - Saqlain

Even ATG teams do not have the 3rd fast bowler as good as McDermott.

McGrath, Akhtar, McDermott, and Saqlain is one good bowling attack.
