Carlos Brathwaite - One Innings Wonder?
He hasnt played enough tests to judge him on that format, but in t20's and ODI's (played 14 of the former and 13 of the latter) his bowling averages are 45 and 55 respectively, with pretty expensive economy rates.
His batting is also pretty poor, he averages 14 in t20's and 13 in ODI's.
Point is, on the back of that incredible knock vs England in the World t20 he seems to have earned superstar status at least in t20's, easily bagging deals in t20 leagues around the world as a result, yet his actual performances in limited overs cricket havent been that good.
I mean he's been announced t20 captain of the WI when he's averaging 14 with bat and 55 with ball at an ER above 9.
Is he really as good as he looked in the world cup final or is he just a one innings wonder
cue him scoring a 100 today

Even if he does turn out to be a one innings wonder. It was one hell of an innings. Something we'll never forget.

He's a mediocre cricketer just like most Windies cricketers are these days. Might win another World T20 and smash bowlers in t20 leagues but will exposed in longer formats.

Carlos Brathwaite is just a poor man's Sammy.
Just got lucky and it was his day in that final.

He was capable of bowling fast medium with the ability of hitting 87,88 mph.
He has been ill advised and has needlessly shortened his runup to curb the Noballs.
Its a nothing runup now. Too Short and he gets no mememtum when he reaches the delivery stride. He has lost 7-10 kph.
Needs to go back to long runup if he wants to be a quality fast medium allrounder.

Just goes to show that even with 19,298 posts you can have no clue what you're talking about.
He had a choice. It was 99% going to be short so he could try and hit a difficult single and who knows if he could even get it away for 1.
OR
Try and hit the short ball and win the game. He was striking the ball so well so I'd say he went with the right option. It just wasn't hit as cleanly as he would have liked AND 7/10 fielders would have dropped the catch, palmed it over or touched the boundary. It was a bit unlucky for him that the fielder did an outstanding job to not only catch it but to stop himself from going over.

It's no stupidity as he's also playing with a number 11 and the shot was on the way he was striking it. Really feel for the lad. Sir brathwaite

I checked the match I thought WI were done with Roach batting.
Stupid thread anyway. I always back young players.
Brathwaite is a great hitter of the cricket ball.

Epic knock. He played out the best bowlers and cashed in on Henry. It was a great catch by Boult to win the match for NZ. Windies had the wrong approach. They just needed to be patient and take the game deep, but they through their wickets away as usual.

If Carlos could have pulled it off it would have been rated higher than all of Lance Klusener's knocks

Funny that Pandya is rated so highly while everyone looks down on Brathwaite. I would say their bowling is similar while those two innings of Brathwaite's beat anything Pandya has ever produced for India with the bat.
