Nah, Bangladesh just aren't giving their wickets away.

Our bowlers are club rely who rely on extreme conditions or batsmen giving wickets to take wickets.

I'm glad people are starting to see why I'm so pessimistic with this team.

Mediocre all round - useless bowlers, useless batsmen and no batsmen with flair like Kohli, Smith or Root.

Won't change till they start looking to develop Asian cricketers either instead of useless European technicians, power hitters and bits and pieces cricketers.

The SA's are going to slaughter us like minnows again in a few months time.

Shows u what a joke it was by Pakistan to gift 6 odd wickets to de Grandhomme. He has just bowled 12 overs out of 92 odd. Pakistan should never have made him look like a world beater.

Just the first test with teh first full day. I'm sure NZ will get their bearings right after realising that Bangladesh shouldn't be taken lightly. At this rate SA would eat them alive in the coming series. They better get their combination right. For starters I don't think de grandhomme should be anywhere near the test team. Feel the same about santner. Sometimes feel Boult has outlived his reputation in test cricket.

Flat, I didn't see much of yesterday but i heard there were strong winds which would have effected the bowlers rhythm.

SA are nowhere near their best and I expect them to still put up scores of 600/5 and roll us for under 200.

Yeah. Guys like him and Jaddu are a gamble. When they come off looks great. However, on pitches like this I would have wanted Ish Sodhi flighting it up and atleast giving himself a chance.

Nope, it's a old boys club.

No one will be dropped because the organisation doesn't have the foresight and mettle to make the tough decisions.

Declaration, is the better option for batting stats, which I don't think is feasible without costing team interest - that's Misbah style Captaincy, which almost cost the Dubai D/N Test. When the batsmen starts to go after, Ken will spread the fielding & Captains like Misbah will be happy to stroll at 3/over till 1 hour tomorrow & expect Yasir will take 10 wickets in 90 overs.

What I am telling is go at ~6/over & be ready to loose some wickets to score 170+/6 in 29 over.

Looks like our players have finally adjusted to the conditions. New Zealand was always going to be difficult to get adjusted to. We played so much cricket on slow wickets we were bound to struggle abroad all of a sudden. Not only the pitch but also the dimensions of the boundary.

Our test side batting is better than ODI batting

To be fair, you probably would have won 2-0 quite easily if you had a ODI and T20 series before the Tests.

Ish is a much better bowler in the shorter formats, he hasn't quite got the the accuracy and game plan for Tests yet.

But yeah, Santner, Nicolls and Colin aren't Test standard. The likes of Latham, Boult and Southee are living off past performances.

Smith keeps on bringing up the pitch

Nothing about the bowlers not being able to pick up wickets on it i.e. something you would expect from good bowlers.

Is he a good batsman? Average 22 can be explainable that he is punching above his limit - one 50 in 14 innings mean, he is maintaining numbers by soft 20s & 30s; same for bowling - this is ultimate definition of Bit & pieces.

I reckon you guys have an attack similar to us. Can't hack it when the wicket goes flat. You remember how we let Brendon score his triple century in the 2nd innings after getting a 250 run lead in our first innings.

Although I think we have a better batting than you.

I thought he had the potential, but he has a lot of flaws in his technique and isn't someone you can even count on for 20s or 30s.

This NZ side is a complete mess.. it gives you an idea of just how great McCullum was, he was able to turn a bunch of nobodies into world beaters.

Simon Doull, Scott Styris are much better. Styris is far funnier as well.

He really is terrible... was so embarrassing when over in Aus when the Aussies completely crushed our hacks.

Boult is living off his success early on, he hasn't done anything of substance in a good while.

Bangladesh deserve to win and I hope their bowlers deliver.

NZ needs this loss desperately, the series win against Pakistan has deluded people into thinking things are fine.

Lol I'll trust them when I see them performing overseas. Shami, Yadav et al are amomg the best for bowling in the subcontinent where you need to attack the stumps more. But they play a attacking role in the subcontinent where they can bowl in short bursts in attacking lines while supporting the spinners.

But outside asia when they have to take the lead, they lose it when they come across a flat track. They can't bowl that consistent outside the off line for long periods and bowl either too short or spray it to the legs. They have improved definitely over the past year or so, but I'll believe it when I see it this year in South Africa.

Nurul hasan is better wicket keeper than mushfiq but have little experience in batting than mushfiq. Till now he is our best replacement of mushfiq. Liton dad failed in that spot.

That's essentially our bowlers except we don't have Ashwin or Jadeja to keep things tight...

If you don't believe me, have a look at our bowlers recent performances in Australia, England, India, UAE and Bangladesh.

I wish we had a Ian Chappell who could call it how it is rather than bite their tongue and pretend like this is acceptable.

Commentators acting like these useless bowlers can bowl out Bangladesh before Bangladesh can think of declaring

Arrogance from a side which is minnow level... we shouldn't be arrogant especially after how easily the top sides have dispatched us recently.

Think NZ attack needs more pace in it. Atm bowlers like Southee and Boult are great on green tracks but their medium fast bowling will be harmless on flat tracks. Wagner is good but he's a bit one dimensional in the Wahab mould. Either he'll have a great day or he won't do much if the batsmen are alert to his short deliveries.

NZ should pick Henry more. What about Milne? Is his test career over due to injuries?

Is Ferguson a good test bowler?

Milne is too injury prone and Ferguson can't sustain his pace.

Henry has been given chances but has played poorly.
