As for LOI bowlers, IPL must have played some part in the development of Bumrah and Bhuvi's bowling in death overs.

For test bowlers, IPL can't do anything.

Agree. Definitely seems like our bowlers have developed more with the IPL and you can see that in the death bowling.

Bumrah has said in one interview how he learned to bowl consistent yorkers from Malinga in IPL playing for MI.

Hype for example is what KL got in 2016 IPL.

Recognition of talent(and hype) is what Pant got due to U19 world cup and Ranji.

Both well deserved but different. KL was international test player whose improved LO game was showcased in IPL.

Pant was a unproven talent who was polished in U19 and Ranji.

    Both did their job.

Yeah I remember reading it somewhere.

Malinga was a freak with yorkers. Learned from the best.

Bumrah bowled Gujarat to LO title before IPL. And Bhuvi developed yorker and increased pace in India colors. Bhuvi was bowling 4 years in IPL before yorkers. You are underestimating off season work these players put in.

    Ok I see your point.

    Fair enough.

I believe many players like Chahal, Bumrah, Kedar, Ashwin, Jaddu, Pandya were able to make it to the international mark faster due to IPL. That's how I view recognition.

Then you have players like Rohit (remember the time when he was pretty much done and dusted in 2012 SL ODI tour), Mishra who were able to comeback due to IPL (mixed with domestic performances too I guess).

I may be missing a few more names here.

Just because we don't have ultra pure power hitters don't mean we have to keep the oldies on.

We can test Jadhav, Krunal, Mayank, Gurukeerat, Pant, etc, etc to build a proper T20 team. These people are STILL dynamic players even though they may not be pure power hitters (Pant and Krunal apart).

Plus in my comment I meant we haven't produced a reliable power hitter who has made it in the international circuit. Check the discussion I was having with the other poster before taking a word out of context from my post.

The kind of pressure Indian bowlers face in IPL also makes them better prepared for international cricket. This is one major difference between domestics and IPL.

Bumrah himself said he learnt about yorkers from Malinga in IPL.

Buttler himself said he learnt a lot about batting in IPL and when he got selected in IPL, he was a BRUTAL bat before itself.

Bhuvi at first wasn't good with yorkers ipl or no ipl. Then he went and developed them and got to practice it in pressure cooker situations in IPL. He

I don't see anyone making an all or nothing claim about IPL.

IPL is not going to transform players in those 2 months. That's simply impossible.

But it could impart the knowledge, insight, work ethics and mental game needed which the players can use to practice and develop themselves over the course of time.

All those qualities are also developed in domestics too. IPL is where they are tested against best international players. Anyway we are agreeing more than not so let's drop this

Feel this will be Dhoni's last T20. I got the feel from everything on and off field and from friend who is part of the management. Kohli letting him go with a huge win after having him lead pretty much the most part of the game.

    LOL

I applaud Kohli's move to use two Leggies. When you use attacking bowlers, the English can't attack, they can only defend but they can't defend and win a T20 match chasing 200. They were forced to take on the bowlers who are the most difficult kinds to attack and the English were burned to ashes.

What do you know about the new/returning IPL's franchises for the 2018 edition ? If your friend is part of the management he should know that buy now.

It maybe too much to ask from Yuvraj to be fit again like in his heydays.. But Raina's fitness was awfully lacking.
Somebody been gorging on Tundey ke kabaab a lot it seems.
