Latif might get off the hook on a technicality since he wasn't even selected to play in the first match.

And how will he bring God as witness in the Court.
-

Bringing God into it wont help you. I remember Sharjeel in one of the pre tournament promos was bringing out all the inshallahs and thanking God left right and centre for PSL and how it helped his career and he has proven to be a corrupt cheat.

Oh be quiet you fool. I hate when all these corrupt people bring God into it to prove their innocence. You are guilty and deserve a life ban and a long jail sentence.

Latif may get a lighter sentence given he did not play in IU's match and did not commit the act of fixing unlike Sharjeel.
However he still met with the bookie and did not report the approach. He did verbally agree to the deal with the bookie according to media reports. Whether he has fixed in the past, either at domestic or international level, should be investigated.

Latif would be given 5-8 Years ban while Sharjeel Life Banned
-
14th February 2017, 20:38 #14
He agreed to fix so he should get a significant ban and maybe some investigation should be done to see if he fixed in domestic cricket as mentioned above.
Sharjeel deserves a life ban.

Seems in a strange way that he is 'less guilty' than Sharjeel, due to not playing in the first match for Islamabad, but it also looks like he had agreed to be in on it.

It seems that criminals use religious terminology as a get out clause for their criminality. I can remember Butt kissing the turf and starting nearly every interview with Bismillah but having no scruples to commiting criminal acts. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the guys convicted of raping and abusing children in Rochdale shouted Allah o Akbar after they were sentenced.

Lets see how those caught rat on each other to try and get their sentences reduced.
On a separate note:
If the who were arrested in the UK decide to open their mouths and cooperate in return for reduced sentences, then it has the potential to rope in many others depending upon which synidicate they were working for.
In the case of the Trio, it was a sting operation, there was no syndicate involved. But in the case of Sharjeel and Nasir Jamshed, it does appear that there is a syndicate involved, a syndicate that has been operating for a while since it (allegedly) has a lot of dirt on Sharjeel that allowed them to pressurise Sharjeel into carrying on fixing.

Can thank God he didn't get picked otherwise he'd have brought a smile to his bookie's face too.

Yes, you didn't do anything wrong since you were not picked to play the match, otherwise you had made a deal with the bookies.

What is Bet and why it is banned ? Did they Sold the match ? What is Football betting ? It's getting so complicated ?
What is different between M.Amir act this sharjeel act ? Now Khalid latif saying he did not did it ?
-

He may have accepted the offer but because he never got to play in the first match, Latif may avoid a life ban.
We might see Sharjeel being banned for life and Latif for 5 years. Either way, both of their careers are over.

He could be let off, I mean he would in America. He was only arrested for intent but there's no concrete way to prove that he intended to fix unless he had acted on it. He needs a good attorney, he has a good case to get out of this.

Betting and fixing are both illegal. People bet on games based on the inside info they receive from fixers. Dhoni's team owner was found betting and was arrested. His team was kicked out. Same case with Rajathan Royals. In addition to those, RR players like Sreesanth fixed the games by accepting bribes and underperforming. This is similar to what the Pakistan trio did years ago. There was no proof of Dhoni betting any games. Was it covered up? No one knows if he did it or if it was covered up. Either way, he is innocent as he wasn't caught. The others were just plain dumb to get caught for peanuts

This might work with some section of fans.
Anybody remember Raza Hasan? A few were willing to let him off the hook after testing positive during a drug test because he played the religion card in one way or another.

All he needs to do is get God on the witness stand in court.

Yeah heard it all before. Ban em for life..no 8 years or 10 years otherwise they will forever plague us on stupid tv shows proclaiming their innocence. He should end up a rickshaw driver so it sets up an example for others. Good riddance on moata sharjeel too. Ban them both. No mercy.

is it possible that Islamabad United had known prior to the match that Khalid Latif is under the scanner and therefore they didn't play him? Dropping both Sharjeel and Khalid would have raised eyebrows so they dropped only Khalid Latif. Wild theory.

Dhoni had a gun team with two best Indian spinners, one of the best T20 allrounders in Bravo, Good middle order bats like Duplessis, Raina (Indian conditions) along with Matty Hadden, McCullum. He's very good at man management and knows how to win. He was one of the best finishers then. Preity Zinta on the other hand had beauty and Miller along with a declining Yuvraj. Unfortunately, that wasn't a good combo.
