He definitely can - as I mentioned first time when came to know that all but one "passed" the fitness test.

It's not about how fit one is, rather what's the method used to declare players fit.... I am sure, KAkmal will pass the fitness test in 2022 as well, if Inzi (or the then CS) wants him in the team. Few months back, Irfan also passed fitness for 18 hours 2 way flight & 5 overs in between ....

All of this makes me wonder what exactly Umar Akmal did, to fail twice.

That's why me thinks, there is is more than Yo yo in it. He failed the fitness test, only out of 35, then made Captain of a Domestic side in 3 days time; which even PCB's standard too fishy. Passing Yo yo is not that difficult for a pro cricketer in his late 20s, that too after multiple attempts & the testing method wasn't a surprise, everyone got enough time to prepare.

Umar will be back for sure, may be even as Misbah's replacement in Test side; probably he is given some target (& responsibility) - at least from Mahmood's words, I can assume that.

^^ Also, in PAK Cup, Punjab side has Kamran as WK, which I think is a bad investment - KAkmal won't keep ever for PAK & he is in horrible shape to keep; therefore I won't be surprised if we see Umar keeping partially.

OMG! I too didn't recognize him at first. To select these type of fat players at this age is simply pathetic. It's shame considering the players other teams are selecting. No wonder why Bangladesh is ahead of us at this stage. They are selecting fit and skillful players unlike us. We are selecting (proven) awful and FAT players. Our selectors have no shame left in them

Funny how time flies. There was an era in which the idea of the break between games was to mellow out in good company an a beach in Grenada. Allowed you to interact with the locals, and understand the justice system.
Now it's the drudgery of peak physical fitness exercises every day.

    Good times!

Looks like Mickey is practicing Babar at 1st slip - that's an open spot after MoHa missed the cut & Misbah unwilling to stand at slips.

Eventually, I think Babar should end up at 2nd slip after YK with Asad at 1st & Azhar at 3rd.

Asad should've been at 1st slip for a few years now. It's pathetic how the guy who's probably the safest catcher in the team fields at gully and leg slip while duds like Hafeez have been dropping sitters at 1st slip for half a decade.

Arthur must have seen something, but I don't think Babar is best fit for 1st slip. He is too mobile for a 1st slip fielder. Asad is by far the best 1st slip potential while Babar is great potential for 2nd slip - traditionally the best slip catcher stands there.

Eventually, I think Babar should end up at 2nd slip after YK with Asad at 1st & Azhar at 3rd.

Since Babar is mobile, he is probably the best option for point and cover. Along with Shadab. I never want to see Tanvir or Kami at point again!

Don't think Babar is a natural slipper. He'd be better in front of the wicket.

Good to see Shan Masood there. I really hope he gets a chance ahead of the useless Ahmed Shahzad.

Babar Azam is skinny fat. Looks thin, but he seems to pack a lot of fat in his chest and abdomen.

    All players look well fed.

    Only Amir looks malnourished.
