    Doesn't look like it.

All the teams would be playing at the same time anyway so if a local broadcaster telecasts, BD match will be given priority.

he is batting allrounder and given our poverty of options at 6, should be a contender

Along with the hitting ability, a no.6 batsman needs a good mental game.

Hammad is heavily lacking in both compartments.

i disagree with you in terms of hitting ability. He doesnt have a lot of competition thats why I support him but he does a few things right. Like grip the bat up high and open his body up in a way he can swing through an arc but still has an option to go offside

Mental aspect is a fair point but at least he has the ability. People like Rizwan or even sarfraz at 6 is awful there technique doesnt allow for it.

I think talat can do the job but people want him in the top order

U give him one over he takes a maiden and never bowl again, batting will come to face 5 overs , drop him for the next match , then drop him for next series... if u look at his ODI career since his debut in WI only this has happened...

MISBAH captain logic towards youngters has been if your in the team score centuries or take a 5-fer very soon into the career, but when it comes to seniors 12 runs in total in a 3 match series just a bad series, is only one good inns away from becoming a bradman...

I see more potential in his batting.

Over reliant on the googly for wickets and doesn't impart as much revolutions as some other spinners in Pak.

Anyhow, good performance from him yesterday and hopefully the first of many.

a wake up call for blind followers of Haris who think he's still the Haris of 2015, but in reality he's not, he has just came back from a 1 and a half year injury and done nothing special, he needs to play a full domestic season, as much matches as possible, perform there and then we should assess his situation

he averaged 43 in ODI, which is considered an excellent average in ODIs, he scored 7 fifties in 21 innings, that means 1 fifty every 3 innings. He played a couple of match winning knocks as well. He's an ideal 6th bowler too. He also averaged 52 in first class, and didn't get a chance in tests. He looked like a million dollars back then. But with that said, he looks like a shadow of his former self right now, he looks out of sorts. He need match practice, a continuos run of games in the domestic circiut to get back in form before getting considered for the national team. A lot of people believe he should be selected for the national team, like it's a rehab centre, that's absolutely wrong, he should spend a good amount of tme in first class cricket again and perform there to prove that he's still capable of playing for the national team.

If Imam is to become a good player he needs to learn to rotate the strike. Not sure about the conditions but in normal circumstances if you are taking 130 balls to score 100, you will be out of the team pretty quickly. When i saw him,He had the same problem at the U19 level.

well if you consider the circumstances, it's not bad at all, they were not chasing some 300, they were chasng less than 200, so it doesn't hurt to play carefully on a bowling friendly pitch, other batsmen failed too, at least Imam scored a 100. With that said, he will only be successful in ODIs if has has an aggressive partner with him, he can improve his dot ball percentage, he's still very young, but his ideal format is test cricket not ODI.

Only positive is Ghulam Madassar. Scoring a century at a snails pace does not fill me with confidence, but then again he was chasing a small target, but he is a slow player anyway

Rizwan (24), Harris Sohail (28), Hammad Azam (26), Bilal Asif (31) - how are players over 23 allowed in an U-23 to series? Or do rules of this tournament allow teams to play some 23+ aged players too?

It's not u23 tournament. All teams except bd,sl,ind,Pak are playing their national teams. Bd,sl,Pak and ind only are playing U23 players with only 4 over23 players. That's why it's call emerging cup not U23 tournament.

Told you guys it was terrible selection of batsmen. They all bat at a snail's pace barring one or two.

Actually Afghanistan is also playing sort of U23 team. They are not playing full strength side (not even half strength).
Even Nepal opted to drop some of their star players (like captain Paras, Shakti , Sompal etc)

You do realize that SR of 70 is quite atrocious in this day and age?

    Exactly.

Someone like Saad Ali meanwhile is following this from home.

    Good win.

Talat should bat at #3 though.

    Khushdil should replace Butt.

Good to see Mudassar and Gohar do well.

Khushdil is another overhyped player. Everything from his stance, grip and shot selection is terrible.

Yes you are an expert on batting and can make that assessment after watching a couple of youtube videos.
