Should the points be adjusted for win/loss margin?

The current ICC points system only takes into account the win/loss, home/away and opponent ranking.

I am just thinking wouldn't it be more effective if in test matches more points are given for bigger wins and less points deducted for low margin losses?

    What do you guys think?

Winning by an innings, 10 wickets or more than 50% of the 4th innings target should get extra points imo. First the home/away conundrum needs to be fixed though

It should be but it would be very hard to actually implement it. Like doing the maths etc and stuff like that would be too complicated so I assume that's one reason why winning margin of matches isn't taken into account.

Do the rankings now take into account home/away?

Didn't think so either but the OP said they do. I find that unbelievable.
