PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Sunday once again criticised PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan and said that whenever Pakistan is moving towards progress, he and his "mob" launch an attack on the country.
Taking to Twitter, Maryam wrote: "Decisions related to the destiny of 220 million people cannot be left in the hands of gangs and those who commit sedition."
The PML-N vice president added that it was now the time to stand firm against the hostility demonstrated by Khan and his followers towards the country.
Maryam's tweet came in response to Khan's announcement of his much-awaited long march to Islamabad.
Speaking to journalists in Peshawar today, the PTI chairman said that he would be leading the march from Peshawar and will reach the federal capital on May 25. He also told his supporters that he would meet them at 3pm on the Srinagar Highway.
He has said that people from all walks of life should be joining his long march, especially women, and added that he will remain in Islamabad for as long as it will be required.
"We are ready to sacrifice our lives but will never accept these thieves ruling the country," he said. "We need a date for the fresh elections and a dissolution of the assemblies."
The former prime minister said that the PTI had always been a peaceful party and had "never instigated violence or chaos."
"This isn't politics, but this is jihad (holy war). If they [the government] tried to stop the long march, that would be illegal and we will take action against it if that happens."

PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz Sharif has urged the Supreme Court to stay away from the prevailing political tussle to prevent deepening of the impression that it is partial in the current situation.
In a series of tweets on her Twitter account on Friday, she said the ‘Fitna’ Khan (ex-premier Imran), who was abusing the Supreme Court a few days ago, wanted to accomplish his agenda of chaos by taking cover of the apex court.
The SC would have to be cautious and stay away from this political battle; otherwise, the impression of [its] partiality would strengthen, which would be harmful to the judiciary as an institution, Maryam warned.
She had earlier held the Supreme Court’s decision to allow Imran Khan enter Islamabad as responsible for rioting in the federal capital two days ago.
Maryam Nawaz said the mental condition of the wretched [the PTI chairman] was pathetic since he could hardly assemble 20,000 workers against claims of two million people [for the march] as the masses rejected him.
About the former prime minister’s claims that the people could not join the march because of police barricades, Ms Sharif said a [real] revolution would find its own way and could not be checked by police.
A revolution running away on seeing police should drown itself to death [in shame], she said, adding there were only 10,000 spectators against the claims of three million. Quoting the Urdu proverb khisiani billi khamba noche (meaning an embarrassed person tends to vent his feelings by quarrelling], she said ‘the embarrassed cat has a pole to scratch’ but this ‘semi-insane person’ lacked even this facility. “It is better to keep oneself away from the media in such a mental condition,” she said, apparently in a reference to the abrupt ending of the presser by Imran Khan on some hard questions by the newsmen.
Commenting on a video clip in a tweet in which the PTI chairman along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had been shown visiting the family of a deceased party worker, Maryam Nawaz quipped that he should have visited the families of the law-enforcers who fell prey to the mischief of this ‘mischief-monger’ and died at the hands of his rioting workers and armed gangs, seeking forgiveness while confessing his ‘sin’.
Chiding Imran Khan for failing to correctly speak the word Hudaibiya and read Darood, she advised him to refrain from the ‘Islamic touch’.

Some people can control their facial expressions resulting from certain natural emotions. However, they still have microexpressions that last for less than a second. If you pay attention to these microexpressions, you will know that someone is lying.
However, when Maryam bibi lies, she doesn't seem to have any microexpressions. So, it's possible that she either believes her lies or that she lacks empathy or remorse. The former trait would make her oblivious, but the latter would make her a sociopath.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has taken strong exception to PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s call to the Supreme Court seeking unhindered access to Islamabad for his party’s second long march.
“The court should remain impartial and away from IK’s politics of anarchy. He drags national institutions into politics and then defames them,” she told a public meeting held in connection with Yaum-i-Takbir here on Saturday night.
The PTI chairman had announced on Saturday his party would approach the apex court on Monday to seek clarity on holding public rallies.
She said after failure of May 25 long march, Khan had sought help from the apex court. “Is this the court’s job to rescue him?” she asked.
Her cousin and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif warned Imran Khan he would be jailed if he made a second attempt to storm the federal capital.
Ms Maryam said the country faced internal threat from the PTI chairman who was out to create chaos and confusion in the country. “With due respect, I want to ask the apex court to maintain distance from the politics of this anarchist as the Supreme Court is an institution of Pakistan,” she added.
Ms Maryam said if Russia had given consent to provide petrol and gas on concessional rates, then why an agreement was not signed. She said that now government had been forced to increase petroleum prices only due to PTI government’s agreement with the IMF.
She said that Khan should be held accountable for his four years’ performance.
She lauded nuclear blasts by former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif despite global pressure. She said the country’s defence was now strong.

I think most Sharifs are classic cases of sociopathy. If you study anti social personality disorder, you can clearly see how family history, environment, the way you are raised, etc are all contributing factors.
I believe their whole khandan, (in fact not just theirs but all these dynastic political families) are afflicted with this disorder. They have no sense of right/wrong, truth/lies and they have this sense of entitlement as if Pakistan is their baap ki jagir and they have a right to lord over the rest.
Its a pretty disturbing trend, because if you look at such people in human history, they are usually wipes away in bloody coup or revolution.
I hope they all get their comeuppance

Their sense of entitlement is because of the delinquents who follow their cult.
Despite decades upon decades of corruption between the Bhuttos/Sharifs since the 80s - they still enjoy a sizeable chunk of support.
Granted, much of this support is due to circumstance (Sindh) - but there are still Pakistani people who are seemingly "okay" with the Sharif and Bhutto families looting Billions, owning property around Europe, UK, USA, Dubai etc. And holding power despite criminal convictions.
The Sharif and Bhutto parties are the very definition of a cult, especially the latter.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, while responding to the public’s intense reaction against the rise in fuel prices, said that they were aware of the problems of the people, and while the situation would ultimately improve, it would take some time for the country to come out of the crisis.
Taking to the microblogging platform Twitter, the senior party leader said that the government was trying its best to provide relief to the people even during the most difficult economic conditions.
She said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was working hard to reduce load-shedding. She assured the people that God-willing, things would get better in the days to come.
Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s agreements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the PML-N leader said that the “cruel agreements” of former prime minister Imran Khan’s term were costing the nation in the form of expensive petrol and electricity. She added that inflation had made the lives of people miserable during the past four years.
Maryam said that the government was strengthening the economic foundations of the country, and PML-N would once again provide relief to the people.
She also took the opportunity to slam the PTI’s protest against the rise in fuel prices, saying that not a single person responded to the former premier’s call.
She said that people have not only come to know about this “saboteur”, “fugitive” and “seditious” person, but they also know that if any party could take Pakistan out of the “devastation” imposed by Imran, it was PML-N.
She further said that it would take some, but Pakistan would get out of the crisis.

PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that leaked audio tape — purportedly a conversation between the Bahria Town chief and his daughter – revealing how Farah Gogi 'demanded a gift' for former first lady Bushra Bibi is just a “tip of the iceberg” of former prime minister Imran Khan’s corruption.
“Farah Gogi was only a front person and the real beneficiary was Imran Khan,” Maryam said while addressing the PML-N social media team in Lahore on Monday.
She alleged that Farah, a close friend of the former first lady, received bribes in the transfer and posting of officials through former Punjab chief minster Usman Buzdar.
“Bani Gala [residence of former PM Imran] was the headquarters of corruption.. this latest audio clip is an eye-opener,” she added.
During the conversation, the woman in the audio clip was saying to her father that Farah allegedly demanded a precious diamond as a gift for the ex-first lady in return for "removing locks" on a project site and withdrawing a report against her father.
Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz said that the audio clip attributed to him on social media was fake, stressing that it was not surprising to create fake audio in the presence of deep-fake technology.
'Pakistan's economy is on ventilator'
Speaking about the economy and rising inflation, Maryam said all sectors of the country are in shambles and when the PML-N came into power the country was on the verge of default.
“The PML-N is not thinking about its politics it is only thinking about the country... no other political party could take such tough decisions that the PML-N has taken ahead of the elections,” she added.
“We will steer the country out of the crisis... We have done that and we will do that again... this is our slogan today..”
Maryam said media debate should now be focused on public issues rather than on those “spreading chaos and anarchy” in the country. The ruling party leader maintained that the PTI while in power “destroyed” the country and strained the country’s ties with friendly countries.
“The one [Imran] who was out on streets to bring revolution is now securing transit bails from courts,” she added.
Unfortunately, whenever PML-N comes to power it lifts a “ruined Pakistan” out of difficulties and put it on a path of prosperity, she added.

Referring to the veterans of the armed forces who called for the dismissal of the assemblies, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday said retired generals were not loyal to their institution, and challenged them to return their medals if they were interested in politics.
Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), she said that the incumbent government was trying to complete its term, adding that the media should criticise the one “who made things worse”.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif cares about the nation and is working day and night to improve the country’s economy,” she said, adding that the premier’s entire focus was on public relief.
Commenting on the excessive electricity outages being faced by the people across the country, Maryam said when her party formed the government in 2013, the country was witnessing 23 hours of power cuts. “Had there not been [Maryam’s father and former premier] Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz, power outages would not have ended,” she added.
“No one tried to end the electricity outages, nobody set up power plants,” she said while referring to the term of the previous PTI government.
She added that the demand for electricity was increasing with each passing day and PTI chairman and former premier Imran Khan had shut down the power plants set up by Nawaz.
She alleged that factories were being shut down because of Imran’s “incompetence”.
However, Maryam said, 5,000MW would soon be added to the system. “We are not crying, but planning.”
She added that even Imran’s own allies were “acknowledging” the issues that surfaced during his term, pointing out that former interior minister Sheikh Rashid had admitted to laying “landmines” for the future government.
The PML-N vice president said the PTI chief had taken the country to the intensive care unit (ICU), and plunged it into darkness. She added that the PML-N would clear the landmines laid by the former premier.
On the foreign policy of the previous government, she said that it led to deteriorating relations with friendly countries.
Commenting on the coalition government’s economic decisions, she said that with the increase in prices of petroleum products, a relief package of Rs28 billion was also given to the people. She added that wheat flour was made cheaper, and Hajj was made less costly for the convenience of the people.
The PML-N vice president said that if her party was unable to give relief to the people, then nobody could.
She added that the government could not be overthrown by “bullying”.
She further said that it was not good to drag institutions into politics.
On a question about the government empowering the country’s premier intelligence agency to vet civil servants, she said the premier knew better how to use the resources at his disposal.
She quipped that the name of Bani Gala should be “Money Gala”. She added that the former first lady was given a diamond of five carats for “opening a lock”.
“You should wear diamonds in all your fingers but not with the money belonging to the people. Buy and wear diamonds with your halal money.”
She added that question should be asked of those who had handed over a whole province to Farah Gogi, a close friend of ex-PM Imran’s wife.
Maryam also expressed her sorrow over the demise of MNA Aamir Liaquat and prayed for his soul.
She expressed her condolences to the heirs of the late lawmaker.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Saturday directed its Vice President Maryam Nawaz to lead rallies and hold meetings in 20 constituencies for by-elections on vacant Punjab Assembly seats scheduled for July 17.
The seats had fallen vacant after the ECP de-notified the dissident PTI MPAs who had voted for PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz against their party line in the Punjab chief minister’s election on May 23.
The top PML-N leadership met at the party’s Model Town Secretariat, wherein they deliberated on a detailed strategy for the by-elections in Punjab next month.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz, Maryam, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, Federal Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and others.
The leadership applauded the federal budget for the next fiscal year and deliberated on a strategy for upcoming by-elections in Punjab.
According to sources, they discussed the current political and economic situation and voiced their support for the “excellent” budget while appreciating the premier and his economic team for coming up with it.
Hamza told the meeting that the provincial budget would be presented on Monday.
Premier Shehbaz told the participants that they were aware of the difficulties being faced by the people and working to resolve those in good faith. He also claimed that the politics of “negative propagandists” was dying out automatically.
Regarding the lingering energy crisis, he said that all resources were being utilised to control load-shedding. He added that the sales tax on solar panels was abolished in the federal budget for FY2022-23 to combat power outages.
Shehbaz also called on the people to unite to end political extremism in the country.
After the meeting, Sadiq told the media persons that party officials and candidates from the constituencies where by-polls were being held were invited.
He revealed that no decision had been made on the by-election tickets yet as some people got angry while others had to be persuaded.
He also claimed that load-shedding would be limited to two hours at any cost as the government was utilising all resources to eliminate power outages.
On the federal budget, he said that there could be no budget better than it. “The government has presented the budget keeping in view every sector,” he added.
He said that the government was providing food subsidies to the poor through the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) outlets so that the burden of inflation did not fall on the public.
He also hinted at problems emerging from a shortage of palm oil as Malaysia had banned its exports.

Govt ‘working day, night to clear’ PTI’s mess
Maryam shifts blame for price hikes, inflation, load-shedding onto former ruling party’s shoulders
LAHORE:
With the fate of the PML-N led coalition government hanging in the balance in Punjab, Vice President Maryam Nawaz, seen to be as a party heavyweight, entered the by-election political arena on Saturday, to canvass for Nazir Chohan, who until a few weeks ago belonged to the PTI.
It is said that politics is a game of opportunities, and nothing can describe it better than Maryam praising Chohan and other PTI defectors, who are now her party’s candidates, for “returning the mandate to the people of Punjab”.
Interestingly, not too long ago Maryam was seen naming and shaming turncoats and even asking her voters to besiege the residences of the leaders who had defected from her party.
Fully aware of how such a change in political position is turned into a montage and played on electronic and social media, she did try to address the issue, saying that these people actually left the government to join the opposition camp, which in reality was farther from the truth, as this defection was aimed at over throwing the PTI-led Punjab government.
She said she was running their campaign because they helped the PML-N get rid of the PTI government, Imran Khan, and Farah Gogi as well as for returning the stolen mandate to the people of Punjab.
Maryam, addressing a rally in PP-167 Green Town constituency, shifted the entire blame for price hikes, inflation, and load-shedding onto the shoulders of the previous PTI government, saying that it was their wrongdoing that brought the country to the precipice of economic meltdown.
“Nawaz Sharif’s (the PML-N quaid) heart bleeds to see the plight of masses due to back-breaking inflation.”
She said her government was fully cognisant of the distress people were in and was working day in and day out to get the country out of the crisis.
“The PML-N has done it once in 2012, when they single handedly ended hours long load-shedding and did away with inflation,” Maryam said, adding that she had directly come to the venue from a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who assured her that as soon as even a dollar in the rate of crude oil drops, he would bring the price of gasoline down in the country.
She swore upon God when she said that it was the PTI that was to be blamed for the rising inflation and tanking economy. “The PML-N is taking tough decisions to take the country out of these dire straits.”
She termed former prime minister Imran Khan agreeing to an IMF agreement wherein the conditions were tough as “bad”, saying that not honouring that agreement was “even worse”. “Now, the IMF is rubbing our nose on the floor, because they don’t trust us anymore.”
She accused Imran of emptying the national coffers. “If there was anything in the coffers, Shehbaz Sharif would have showered it on the people of the country,” Maryam, whose government recently increased salary and allowances of the government servants, said.
She claimed that Imran wanted to make Pakistan another Sri Lanka, which imports $3 billion more than it exports every year – main reason for it running out of foreign currency.
She said Imran wanted to take revenge from Punjab knowing that Punjab would never vote for him, which is why he did not construct any road, hospital or school nor did he give free medicines to the people.
She said the son of Imran’s first wife became a billionaire because he was given commission in every contract. “Imran Khan is against public transport but for himself he took a BMW worth Rs150 million from the PM Office. Imran terms the National Assembly illegitimate, but holds a different opinion about the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.”
Maryam asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of Imran’s election campaign, alleging that he claimed that he had resigned, but was drawing salary from the assembly.
She also applauded PML-N ticket holder from the constituency Mian Saleem for standing by the party.
Ticket holder Chohan said that this was and is PML-N’s bastion. “Imran Khan wasted 15 years of his life,” Chohan claimed, adding that the only person who could steer Pakistan out of these crises was Nawaz Sharif.

Lashing out at former prime minister Imran Khan for "ignoring Punjab" — Pakistan's most populous province with 120 million people — PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Monday said that the ex-PM staged "the biggest drama in the history of Pakistan under the name of foreign conspiracy".
"Unfortunately, Pakistani politics met a person who is the biggest liar, chaos-maker and imposter. He used to say to people that we are US slaves. He kept people busy with his conspiracy claims. This is the biggest drama in Pakistan's history," she said while addressing an election rally in PP-170 Lahore.
Maryam said that Imran Khan had been maligning US diplomat Donald Lu in his speeches. However, she added, that two days ago, a PTI representative went to Lu who apologised to him and sought forgiveness from the US official.
She said that Imran used to call people traitors and even called former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a traitor as well but even today he could not prove anything. "Now a video has surfaced in which Bushra Bibi [Imran Khan's wife] can be heard instructing to make traitor trends," she added.
"I am thankful that she [Bushra Bibi] did not say that she say a dream and got a basharat to run traitor trends," Maryam said sarcastically.
Hitting out at the ousted premier for using a "religion card", the PML-N leader said that because of his irresponsible behaviour, people got shot.
Maryam said that the biggest scandals in Pakistan's history surfaced during the PTI tenure. "LNG scandal, Bushra Bibi involvement, sugar scandal you name it... all these scandals came during Imran Khan's government."
She said that Aun Chaudhry, Aleem Khan and Jahangir Tareen all were part of the PTI but they distanced themselves because of the corruption. "All left with their hands on their ears, saying they had never seen such a liar. They tell stories of corruption."
She said that those who left Nawaz Sharif never said he was involved in corruption despite having political differences but they admit the honesty of the three-time premier.
"Fitna [mischief] Khan has his eyes on Punjab now. He sees Punjab as a snake on his chest. The people of Punjab know that Imran Khan is the enemy of the progress of Punjab. You [Imran Khan] came into power with "support" in 2018 but now your politics is finished not only in Punjab but entire Pakistan," she added.
The PML-N VC further said that Imran Khan and his gang which included Bushra Bibi, Farah Khan and others plundered the resources of Punjab. "Punjab was like an orphan during the PTI tenure. But now lion is back and Punjab will progress as it used to in the past."
Crediting Nawaz Sharif for conceiving the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, Maryam said that Imran Khan too created a mega project, naming it GPEC (Gogi-Pinki Economic Corridor).
"Under this project, money from Punjab used to flow into Bani Gala," she claimed.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will announce a "big relief" for people in the next two days, adding that PML-N had prepared many generations to serve the people.
"We care about our people. Our future generations will also be seen serving the people through politics," she said while addressing a rally in Jhang.
Criticising former prime minister Imran Khan, Maryam said that the PTI chief was "in pain" over relief given by the government of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz on electricity and that is why he approached the court.
"Who are you? No one knows your roots. If something happens to you today, PTI will be finished and nothing will be left," she said.
Maryam said that the people were going through a rough patch due to the hard steps taken by the government but added that the masses had the belief that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif will take the country out of crises.
"When I went out for the election campaign, I had inflation in my mind but when I went out in public, I saw a different picture as people had confidence in Nawaz Sharif."
The PML-N leader said that as soon as the tariffs of oil got lowered in the international market, PM Shehbaz sought the summary [form relevant ministries], adding that the premier would announce a reduction in prices of petrol and diesel in next two days.
"Before arriving here, Shehbaz Sharif told me to tell the people of Jhang that their problems will be addressed," she added.
Earlier in the day, addressing a rally at Gojra Mor, Maryam had said that the hard times were over and good times were upon us. "PML-N was not competing with Imran Khan but with inflation, incompetence and with those who envy Punjab," she said.
She urged the masses to vote for PML-N during the July 17 by-polls and "pick the enemies of Punjab, throw them out of the province and end their politics."

Imran robbed Punjab through his family: Maryam Nawaz
Maryam said that Imran Khan was only focused on converting his residence Bani Gala into Money Gala
LAYYAH: PMLN Vice President Maryam Nawaz Wednesday said "fitna" Khan [Imran Khan] established "GPEC -- Gogi-Pinky economic corridor", adding that he kept on robbing Punjab through his family.
Addressing a jalsa in Layyah ahead of the by-polls in 20 constituencies of Punjab, scheduled to be held on July 17, Maryam said that Khan was only focused on converting his residence Bani Gala into Money Gala.
She accused Farah Khan — a close aide of former first lady Bushra Bibi — of destroying Punjab. “Imran Khan, now you will have to cry because it is payback time. The people of Pakistan were crying when you were in power,” she said, adding that the nation knows who was to be held accountable for creating a mess in the country.
Regarding the news that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to submit a summary on reducing the price of petroleum products in line with a decline in the international market, Maryam said: “Good days are coming.”
The PML-N leader announced that no electricity bills will be received by all those people who consume less than 100 units of electricity. “I will not sit peacefully until the people of Layyah are living a peaceful life,” she said, adding that inflation will now reduce. Commenting on the upcoming elections, she asserted that "lions will roar on July 17 in Punjab as PMLN will contest against rising inflation brought by a jackal."

So per crime minister of imported government, lying to the court that he doesn't know where his son is while taking picures of him with Turkish Royal family is okay as is a criminal on bail doing failed jalsas where people openly abuse pmln to look after her fugitive father who is hiding in London and delaying her cases through blackmail tactics.

maryam nawaz stole $700 million which were allocated for girls development and schools.
At least 22 documents she submitted in court were fake.
Her family is declared as dishonest and fraudsters by the court.
This traitor family wrongly assumes that Pakistanis will forget their looting.

:
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday for the return of her passport, which she had surrendered before the LHC deputy registrar after she had been granted post-arrest bail in Chaudhary Sugar Mills Limited (CSML) case.
In the petition filed through Advocate Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz, Maryam stated that “as per record, the inquiry was initiated on November 14, 2018, but no reference has been filed against the petitioner as of today despite a lapse of about four years."
The PML-N leader maintained that "the retention of the passport for an indefinite period tantamount to be violative of her fundamental rights of treatment in accordance with the law, life, liberty, right of movement and equal protection of the law”.
She contended that on August 8, 2019, when she was visiting her father at the Central Jail Lahore, she was arrested in an inquiry initiated by the National Accountability Bureau and was barred from completing her visit.
Maryam’s physical custody was remanded to an investigating officer for 48 days after being sent to judicial lockup. Ultimately, the petitioner was allowed post-arrest bail on merits by the LHC, the petition stated.
Following the court’s order, it furthered that she surrendered her passport and deposited the required amount of Rs70 million.
She said in her petition that she was unable to exercise her fundamental rights for the last four years despite the absence of any charge sheet or trial, as she had surrendered her passport in compliance with the court’s order.
“There may not be any apprehension of abscondance or otherwise in view of the track record of the petitioner who notwithstanding a conviction order against her, voluntarily came back to Pakistan to surrender to the process of law while leaving behind her ailing mother on death bed," the petition added.
It added that as per the “settled principles of administration of criminal justice system as also fundamental rights due process and fair trial guaranteed, vide Article 10-A of the constitution, a presumption of innocence is imperative and even under trial [the] accused does not lose fundamental rights of treatment”.
Judges refuse to hear petition
Earlier, three judges had refused to hear the PML-N leader’s petition seeking her passport to travel to Saudi Arabia and perform Umrah.
The bench, headed by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, had observed that the matter should be heard by the relevant bench which had already heard it and granted her post-arrest bail.
Later, another division bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi heard the plea. As the proceedings had commenced, Justice Najafi had said his colleague judge Justice Farooq Haider was not willing to hear this case owing to undisclosed reasons.
The case file was then sent to Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti with a request to place this matter before any bench.
Following this, another bench led by Justice Najafi heard the matter, but the second member Justice Asjad Javed Ghural was unwilling to hear the case, and thus it was sent to the LHC chief justice to be placed before another bench.
Finally, the petition was withdrawn by the petitioner.

LHC full bench to hear Maryam's passport plea
Three-member bench headed by IHC CJ to take up the case on Sept 14
LAHORE:
A Lahore High Court (LHC) full bench comprising three judges was formed on Monday to hear PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s petition, seeking the return of her passport.
The fresh bench will be headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and includes Justices Ali Baqar Najafi and Tariq Saleem Sheikh. The bench would take up the case on September 14 (Wednesday).
It is pertinent to note that the PML-N leader’s efforts to get back her passport have seen a protracted legal battle as all benches that were assigned the petition till date had to be dissolved after a number of judges recused themselves from the case owing to various reasons.
Now a fresh full bench will take up the case three days after a two-member bench sent the petition to the chief justice as one of its members recused himself from the matter.
The petition had landed on a bench comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq Pannun. Subsequently, the bench referred the petition to the chief justice with a request to place it before any other appropriate bench for the hearing.
Earlier this year, three judges had refused to hear Maryam's petition seeking her passport to travel to Saudi Arabia and perform Umrah
The bench, headed by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, had observed that the matter should be heard by the relevant bench which had already heard it and granted her post-arrest bail.
Later, another division bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi heard the plea. As the proceedings commenced, Justice Najafi announced that his colleague Justice Farooq Haider was not willing to hear the case owing to reasons best known to the judge.
The case file was then sent to Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti with a request to place this matter before any bench.
Following this, another bench led by Justice Najafi heard the matter, but Justice Asjad Javed Ghural recused himself to hear the case. It was then again sent to the LHC chief justice to be placed before another bench.
Finally, the petition was withdrawn by the petitioner.
The Petition
Last week, the PML-N once again approached the high court for the return of her passport, which she had surrendered before the LHC deputy registrar after she had been granted post-arrest bail in the Chaudhary Sugar Mills Limited (CSML) case nearly four years ago after furnishing of surety bonds in the sum of Rs10 million each from two sureties with the trial court and separately depositing Rs70 million with the deputy registrar.
Through a fresh civil miscellaneous filed with her pending writ petition, Maryam contended that “as per record, the inquiry was initiated on November 14, 2018, but no reference has been filed against the petitioner as of today despite a lapse of about four years."
The PML-N leader maintained that "the retention of the passport for an indefinite period tantamount to be violative of her fundamental rights of treatment in accordance with the law, life, liberty, right of movement and equal protection of the law”.
It added that as per the “settled principles of administration of criminal justice system as also fundamental rights due process and fair trial guaranteed, vide Article 10-A of the constitution, a presumption of innocence is imperative and even under trial [the] accused does not lose fundamental rights of treatment”.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz castigated PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday for allegedly using religion for the sake of his personal politics and perverting religious beliefs and interpretations.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, Maryam was questioned regarding PML-N leader Javed Latif’s comments a day ago accusing the PTI chief of “attacking the basic principles of Islam” by “supporting” the Ahmediyya community during his tenure.
Latif’s comments had prompted a response from the PTI who in turn had lambasted the coalition government — particularly the PML-N — for “using religion to instil and spread hatred” against Imran.
Maryam avoided directly commenting on Latif’s comments and instead said she was against using or involving religion in politics, or for personal interests.
“Using religion for your personal motives is very bad. I have suffered this and am a victim. Ahsan Iqbal received a bullet and they flung mud at Nawaz Sharif as well.”
She alleged that Imran used to frequent rallies and sit-ins where the above were accused of disrespecting religion.
Maryam further claimed that the PTI had run its by-election campaign in Lahore’s NA-120 in 2017 “on the basis of religion”.
“The party they used for religion and whose rallies they attended, they themselves shot at when their own government came [to power],” she added.
“I think religion is a personal matter … but it does not remain a personal matter when you say in rallies that ‘voting for PML-N is a sin and voting for me (Imran) is righteous and if my party members switch loyalties then it’s shirk’.”
Maryam came down hard on Imran for what she said was his “changing definitions” of religious terminologies.
“Shirk’s definition is associating partners with God. Are you changing the entire dictionary and the meaning of religion for your disgusting politics?
“If this is shirk, according to you, then you are the biggest committer because you admitted in TV interviews that ‘I used the establishment to bring people in my government for voting’,” she said.
She also mentioned other examples of Imran allegedly invoking religion during political rallies and said it was a “matter of concern” for her as a mother because of the message that was being sent to the youth.
“My problem, as a mother, is you don’t use the name of religion and don’t try to pervert people’s religious beliefs because you should speak responsibly when you speak on a mic.”
Maryam further criticised the former prime minister for his comments regarding Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry and said only a “mentally unsound” person or someone who was “launched to cause destruction” could say such things.
“I think all institutions, whether the judiciary or army or politicians or government, should acknowledge he is a fitna (chaotic miscreant) who was launched for destruction and from whom no one is safe.”
The PML-N vice president said that the PTI chief should not be heeded and should not be considered a stakeholder in the political process.
She further added that if Imran no longer remained the “blue-eyed boy” of certain quarters then “sorting him out is not a matter beyond three days”, as she snapped her fingers.
Responding shortly after, PTI leader Shireen Mazari said: “Even your elders can’t sort him out and you aren’t even [worth] anything.”
‘Don’t favour petrol and electricity price increases’
Maryam also addressed questions regarding the state of the economy and said it was not possible to turn it around in months, adding that it would take years after the policies of the PTI government.
“This government has spent day and night and taken difficult decisions, whether I support them or not, but this is true that [Prime Minister] Shehbaz Sharif has saved the country from default and slowly the economy will begin to revive.”
Maryam said she had “categorically stated” that she was not in favour of fuel or electricity price increases, adding that her first responsibility was to the people and she did not own such decisions, whether her party was in government or not.
“I will request the government to focus on it. I don’t support this decision and it should be corrected. However, it will take time to correct the economy after what Imran Khan did.”
She also addressed a question regarding missing persons and said she was glad that PM Shehbaz had taken up the case of missing journalist Mudassar Naaru.
“I’m hopeful he will be successful in pulling a breakthrough [in the matter].”

Maryam for ignoring foreign-funded person’s demand
Imran Khan was launched to destroy the youth’s future, says Maryam Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: PMLN Vice President Maryam Nawaz said on Thursday if those protecting Imran Khan changed their attitude, it would take no more than three days to deal with him.
Referring to Imran’s repeated calls for early elections, she said that decisions should not be taken on the demand of a foreign-funded person. She accused Imran Khan of receiving foreign funding to damage the national politics and moral values.
“Imran Khan was launched to destroy the youth’s future, undermine country’s economy and all the national institutions should take note of Imran’s deception,” Maryam Nawaz said while talking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court.
Lambasting Imran Khan for politicking in a trying time, she said the PTI chief was visiting the flood-affected areas just for the sake of ‘photo shoot’ and for his joyrides, that too on the state resources.
On the other hand, she said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited every province to listen to the grievances of flood-affected people despite the fact that his party did not have any provincial government. The PMLN vice president dared Imran Khan to get both the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s assemblies dissolved if he wants snap polls.
“Imran Khan is not a stakeholder as he was funded by the country’s enemies to destroy the country,” she remarked. She said time was needed to stabilise the economy as the country was only doing firefighting at the moment. The coalition government had saved Pakistan from default, she added.
Maryam said that Imran Khan rules two provinces and cannot escape by holding the federal government responsible for everything. “It will take several years to restore the country’s fragile economy,” said the PMLN leader.
She said this man [Imran Khan] was launched by hostile forces to destroy politics, state institutions and moral values.
Maryam said that Khan brought the country to the brink of disaster, adding that PM Shehbaz Sharif-led government was trying to put the economy on the right track. The former PTI-led government had violated the agreement signed with the IMF, the PMLN leader said, adding that Pakistan has not recovered yet from the attack. There should be a consensus among all the institutions that this man [Imran Khan] is a fitna, she added.
Maryam accused Khan of misusing taxpayers money. She was of the view that Khan was spending the taxpayers’ money on helicopter rides and public rallies. She also berated Khan for criticising the ‘neutrals’. The PMLN leader said the religion card should not be used for political mileage.
Responding to a question, the PMLN leader said that she does not support any decision related to hiking the prices of petroleum products and electricity. She said the coalition government should control it.
Maryam Nawaz said election should be held at its scheduled time. Judges should also think that why they are unknowingly giving fitna an opportunity to grow, the PMLN leader added.
Responding to another question about an extension in the tenure of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Maryam Nawaz said that she will comment on it when the time comes.

Maryam caught red handed again. Rana Shamim has admitted that his sworn statement was fake and that CJP Nisar was totally innocent. This should mean long long jail sentences for her, her dad, Shamim and the owner of Geo group. If this isn't contempt of court then what is? IHC CJP indicated IK on saying that a district judge will be taken to court for her criminality and that has been confirmed by the IHC. Let's see Minallah have the balls to indict all involved in this criminal enterprise.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered on Monday to reutrn Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz’s passport.
The orders came following a three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Ameer Bhatti, admitted the PML-N vice president's plea for hearing.
Maryam’s lawyer Advocate Amjad Pervaiz sought the withdrawal of an earlier miscellaneous application filed on the matter.
The court dismissed the petition filed by the PML-N leader in 2019, directing her lawyer to proceed with the arguments on the new miscellaneous plea.
Maryam’s counsel claimed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has not concluded its probe against his client, even after four years.
He went on to say that the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case was not filed, in spite of Maryam wanting for it to get registered in order to defend herself. “Delaying the reference is akin to misusing the law,” Advocate Pervaiz stated.
The court then accepted the petition and ordered for the passport to be handed back to the PML-N leader.
The petition
Last month, the PML-N leader had once again approached the high court for the return of her passport, which she had surrendered before the LHC deputy registrar after she had been granted post-arrest bail in the Chaudhary Sugar Mills Limited (CSML) case nearly four years ago.
The bail was sought after surety bonds in the sum of Rs10 million each from two sureties were submitted with a trial court, and separately depositing Rs70 million with the deputy registrar.
Through a fresh civil miscellaneous filed with her pending writ petition, Maryam contended that “as per record, the inquiry was initiated on November 14, 2018, but no reference has been filed against the petitioner as of today despite a lapse of about four years."
The PML-N leader maintained that "the retention of the passport for an indefinite period is tantamount to be violative of her fundamental rights of treatment in accordance with the law, life, liberty, right of movement and equal protection of the law”.
It added that as per the “settled principles of administration of criminal justice system as also fundamental rights due process and fair trial guaranteed, vide Article 10-A of the constitution, a presumption of innocence is imperative and even under trial [the] accused does not lose fundamental rights of treatment”.
'Passport returned'
The PML-N leader later in a tweet stated that she had been returned her passport, after “it was confiscated three years ago in a case that has not been filed to date”.
Referring to former premier Imran Khan - during whose tenure Maryam’s passport was confiscated - as a ‘nuisance’, the PML-N leader said that she was kept under “wrongful confinement” by NAB for three months, and in a death cell in Kot Lakhpat jail out of “fear of my rallies”.
Taking a hit at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Maryam furthered that “the nuisance’s politics based on cruelty and vengeance had to come to an end one day.”
“However, this foreign agent has not stopped with his lies and scams even today. The consequences of his actions and his tragic end await him. God willing,” she added.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has claimed that former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was seeking an NRO (deal) by holding secret meetings at the President House in Islamabad.
She was referring to reports that the former premier held a meeting with an ‘important personality’ at Aiwan-e-Sadr in the federal capital recently.
In a recent interview with a local TV channel, Imran when asked about the meeting said, “I don’t lie and cannot tell the truth.”
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday, Maryam said the former premier was raising hue and cry after failing to get any relief from the powers that be.
She also called for dealing with PTI with iron first, saying the Imran Khan-led “foreign-funded party” should not be allowed to hold long march on Islamabad.
Maryam said the PTI chief should not be allowed to “attack” the federal capital with his “armed group”.
“An example should be made out of him [Imran] for hatching conspiracy against the country and attacking the state institutions,” she remarked.
Her statement came a day after the PTI chief indicated that his party’s much-awaited long march to the federal capital might finally be taking place in the third week of this month.
The former prime minister on Monday held a meeting of district presidents and secretaries of his party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Punjab wings, wherein he issued strict instructions to officials for the upcoming march.
He had directed them to ensure full participation of the people and advised them to consider “real freedom” as “jihad”. He added that if they do not get “real freedom” now, they might never get it at all.
Responding to a question about PTI’s narrative of real freedom, Maryam in today’s presser said Imran’s entire narrative is based on lies. “This is not a narrative but a fraud… shelf life of Imran Khan’s lies has expired,” she said.
“Is [Finance Minister] Ishaq Dar’s return [to country] not a slap in the face of PTI’s narrative,” she asked.
Maryam while highlighting the PTI chief’s hard-hitting statements against the establishment said the ousted premier would praise military when he was sitting in the Prime Minister’s Office. “Today he is calling them neutrals and using abusive language against them. Nawaz Sharif never used abusive language against establishment like Imran,” she added.

Maryam dashes off to London
PML-N leader received her passport from court a day earlier
LAHORE:
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has left for London, literally hours after receiving her passport that remained surrendered before the court for three years, to meet her father, party supremo and former premier Nawaz Sharif, and her brothers.
According to her party, the PML-N leader is expected to stay in London for a month during which she is also scheduled to receive medical treatment.
Maryam had received her passport on Tuesday, immediately after which she held a news conference to announce her plans of departing for London to meet her family and being treated for a rare disease.
She added that the treatment was not available in Pakistan.
During the news conference, Maryam said she will soon be flying to London. The PML-N vice president had surrendered her passport to the court in October 2019 to receive bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
Maryam recently filed a plea with the Lahore High Court again to retrieve her passport.
The LHC directed its deputy registrar to return her passport.
She had in April this year filed a petition seeking the return of her passport.
However she later withdrew her plea, after three different benches formed, one after another, recused from hearing her case.
Other than the merits of the case, the one thing that had changed was the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, who was ‘handpicked’ by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Read Maryam, Safdar acquitted in Avenfield case
In theory, this process requires a consultation with the opposition leader. However, as incumbent opposition leader Raja Riaz is an aspirant of a PML-N ticket for the next general elections, so receiving his approval was nothing more than a mere formality.
Maryam's hurried departure to London might not be good for optics, but it sure was a good omen for the party.
Many senior leaders, often talking to The Express Tribune, said from court decisions in Maryam and her father’s cases, they tried reading the mind of the security establishment.
When the decision came in favour of the Sharifs, their reading was that the establishment had taken a soft view for them. When the decisions came against Nawaz and her daughter, their understanding was that the establishment was taking a hard line against their party.
From the changes in direction of winds, these leaders tried forecasting the future of the party.
Another understanding within the PML-N was that the establishment had held Maryam as a surety for her father’s prolonged stay in London.
A senior leader seen close to the Sharif family, earlier when the establishment was seen as hostile towards PML-N, told The Express Tribune that the establishment to keep Nawaz on a tight leash, was keeping Maryam in Pakistan.
He had then said that if Maryam was allowed to go abroad, there would be nothing to stop Nawaz from exposing some powerful individuals.
However, times have changed for the PML-N, which now has everything going in its favour.
Maryam is expected to return from London in November.
Many leaders in the party hoped that Maryam would return to Pakistan along with her father, who was in London for the last three years for medical treatment.
Maryam has already clarified that after her acquittal, a mere application would clear Nawaz from his conviction in the Avenfield case.

Nawaz instructed Maryam to ‘leave’ country immediately
Govt agencies had indicated political fallout from Imran Khan's long march
LAHORE:
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz set sail for London at 10am on October 5 – less than 24 hours after her passport was returned to her through an order by the Lahore High Court – on party supremo and her father Nawaz Sharif’s instructions, party insiders revealed on Wednesday.
A ‘stitch in time’, sources said the decision to leave the country forthwith was taken after concerns expressed in the reports of the government agencies regarding the preparations of arch-rival PTI's long march and its possible success.
Therefore, instead of waiting for the other shoe to drop, Maryam – like the rest of her siblings – took refuge under the wings of her father in London, sources said.
They added that the decision was driven by fears of potential political fallout from former prime minister Imran Khan making strides towards the federal capital – virtually the political oasis of the PML-N-led coalition whose clout in provinces has been undercut after PTI's unabated march towards success at the ballot box in provinces.
To avoid any such potential political firestorm, the government agencies had revealed to Nawaz Sharif that there were fair chances Imran Khan would succeed in his long march.
“Maryam Nawaz could have faced difficulties while staying in the country in case of a success of the PTI's possible long march,” party sources said and shared that her return to Pakistan will be possible only when the dust settles on PTI’s long march bearing down on Islamabad.
The father-daughter duo reunited in London last week after three years as she arrived in the United Kingdom to spend a month with her father, who has been in London since November 2019. She will reportedly undergo a medical procedure during this visit, and speculations are high that she and Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan together.
However, political experts said the development appeared ‘counterintuitive’ as Maryam had been reportedly entrusted with the task of reorganisation of party and was expected to zoom around Punjab districts to campaign for the October 16 by-elections.
It may also be noted here that in recent years, PML-N has more often than not decided to ride on Ms Sharif’s wings to heal its fledgling political fortunes by fielding her on the ground to head its canvassing single-handedly.
‘United under wings’
Maryam is the latest Sharif to seek refuge in London under her father’s wings as three of her siblings are already there, the sources continued and added that with the presence of Maryam, Nawaz Sharif has managed to secure his entire family abroad.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz are in Pakistan.
In the event of the success of the long march and the collapse of the federal government, the leaders of the party in Pakistan, including PM Shehbaz and Hamza Shehbaz may face hardship, party sources added.

Maryam has what it takes to lead the party: Raja Zafar
PML-N insiders say electing Maryam as party president might not sit well with the Shehbaz-led camp
Considering the kind of performance Maryam Nawaz has exhibited, the vice president deserved a chance to lead the party as its president, said PML-N chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, who confirmed that intra-party polls will be held on December 30.
However, a party source close to the Shehbaz family claimed that this seemed a very unlikely proposition. Although he did not completely rule out the possibility, he pointed out that it would be odd to take away the party’s presidency from Shehbaz Sharif, the incumbent prime minister.
The ruling party, after it was served final show cause notice for failing to hold intra-party elections by the ECP, had assured the top poll supervisory body earlier in November of holding elections by end of this year. Given that the failure to comply with the final show cause of ECP entails possible punishment, PML-N seems determined to hold elections on December 30 – which also happens to be its foundation day.
Both the party chairman and special assistant to the PM confirmed that the party elections will be held on December 30. Raja, talking to The Express Tribune shared that the election process for all the portfolios will begin a few days prior to the Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting.
Asked about Maryam’s possible accession to the party’s helm, Raja admitted that he too has been hearing rumours regarding the vice president being considered for the party’s president portfolio.
He lauded Maryam’s performance and the way she led the party in the absence of her father and party supremo Nawaz Sharif, saying that it proved her credentials He added that Maryam was by all means prepared to assume the role.
Asked about the timeline of the election process, the PML-N chairman said it usually begins a few days before the election date, adding that portfolios were normally decided with ‘consensus’ beforehand and that the CWC meeting only ratifies the names.
In response to a question regarding incumbent party president Shehbaz Sharif, Raja said that Shehbaz was a senior party leader and will be accommodated in a senior position.
It is pertinent to mention here that in February 2018, PML-N bigwigs had through a resolution declared Nawaz Sharif, who was disqualified from holding party presidency and then his premiership, as "[the party's] Quaid (leader) for life" – giving him an honorary position in the party the day Shehbaz was made the acting president of the party.
Shehbaz Sharif has been holding the office since then.
‘A change party desperately needs’
A former district chairman also echoed PML-N chairman Raja Zafarul Haq while talking to The Express Tribune and said Maryam Nawaz would be the kind of change the party desperately needed.
He, on the condition of anonymity, said Maryam had the capacity to resonate with young voters. However, he added, sideling PML-N president and incumbent prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, who is seen as "a poster boy" for his performance in PML-N circles, will trigger a public debate in general about the party being a family enterprise.
And the opposition will love to fest on this opportunity, he added.
He also noted that the decision will not sit well with the “Shehbaz camp” which, despite being in power in the party and otherwise, gets dominated by the Maryam-led camp when the latter desires.
He said that the space for Shehbaz-led politics will be largely minimised if Maryam took to the party throne. However, he pointed out that there was only chatter within the party about Maryam’s desire for the slot and there was no official confirmation.
He further pointed out that both camps follow different policies with Shehbaz Sharif’s side taken to be a proponent of reconciliatory politics while on the contrary, the Maryam-led camp is usually seen as favouring retaliatory politics over reconciliatory politics.
It is pertinent to mention here that Maryam Nawaz left for London in October to be with her father Nawaz Sharif who has been residing in the European capital since 2019 on “medical grounds” and treatment purposes.
According to multiple PML-N sources, the father-daughter duo to multiple PML-N sources, are expected to return in December to lead the party.

PML-N senior vice president Maryam Nawaz on Saturday asked the nation to “have faith in Ishaq Dar [and] God” to steer the country’s deteriorating economy out of the current quagmire, in her first speech after her return to Pakistan after a nearly four-month sojourn in London.
Speaking to jubilant supporters waving party flags, she said, “The point that four years of disqualification, incompetence and neglect have made the economy reach today, it will take some time but have faith in Ishaq Dar [and] God. We’ll take the economy out of this [quagmire].”
The affirmation comes a day after the State Bank of Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves dropped to a new nine-year low of $3.68 billion during the week ending on Jan 20.
A day ago, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held PTI Chairman Imran Khan “solely responsible” for the destruction of Pakistan’s economy and challenged him to a live debate on the country’s economy.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi quits as PMLN senior vice president
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has resigned from the party office and decided to continue to work for country’s wellbeing through the forum of Reimgining Pakistan
Former prime minister and PMLN Senior Vice President (SVP) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has resigned from the party office and decided to continue to work for country’s wellbeing through the forum of Reimgining Pakistan.
In a brief chat with The News here at the Parliament House Tuesday evening, he brushed aside the impression that he had been working for the second extension of former army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa (retd).
Abbasi disclosed that when he visited London, he told PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif that if the government was forced to accord extension to Bajwa, it would be better to quit the government rather than giving in to pressure. He also rejected the impression that he lobbied for making any general the army chief.
Abbasi said he had made it clear to Nawaz Sharif about three years back that it would not be possible for him to continue with Maryam Nawaz if she was elevated to party’s top office.

PML-N Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday held a “cabal of five” responsible for the country’s current predicament as she kickstarted a reorganisation tour to shape her party’s narrative, days after her return to the country following a nearly four-month sojourn in London.
Among the “cabal”, she said, were PTI Chairman Imran Khan, former chief justices of Pakistan Saqib Nisar and Asif Saeed Khosa. She did not name the other two, simply referring to them as the two “crutches” of Imran.

Govt’s hands tied due to IMF agreement: Maryam
Says prepared to contest upcoming polls in Punjab, K-P, on NA seats
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday said that the government’s hands were tied regarding inflation due to Pakistan’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
“Those who ruled the country for four years are responsible for the problems of the people,” Maryam said while addressing a news conference here.
She was accompanied by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah as well as other PML-N leaders, including Saud Majeed.
Maryam said that her party would clean sweep upcoming elections by defeating the political opponents.
“The PML-N is fully prepared to contest the upcoming elections in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa as well as on the National Assembly seats,” Maryam said. "The PML-N is the largest political party of the county which will clean sweep the upcoming elections by defeating Imran Khan and his allies."
The PML-N senior vice president said there was no truth in propaganda of political victimisation, adding that the person should be punished and brought to justice who had committed guilt and crime.
"We are not in favour of political victimisation and it is clear that there is no truth in propaganda of political victimisation raised by our political rivals," she said.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz has called for throwing PTI chief Imran Khan out of politics, saying that former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa admitted that the establishment made a blunder by supporting the previous PTI-led government.
“Bajwa sahab following his retirement admitted that he made a blunder like Imran Khan. It was the biggest blunder in the 75-year history of the country. This blunder wreaked havoc across the country,” she said while addressing a workers convention in Multan on Sunday.
“Now mere admission of this blunder is enough. Now we have to remove this stain from the nation’s forehead. This fitna [mischief] should be thrown out of the politics.”
The ruling party leader said the “cabal of five” nurtured the former premier but “ the same snake that they nurtured is now biting them”.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's "selectors", who had brought him to power in 2018, were now "regretting" their decision.
"Your [Imran] selection committee has been dissolved, and the selectors have left for home,” Maryam said while addressing the PML-N workers' convention in Islamabad.
She asked the people to compare the governance of the PML-N and the PTI during the past 10 years in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, respectively.
"Whenever the country's economy collapses because of the rulers, people look to Nawaz Sharif for rescue," Maryam said.
She lashed out at the previous PTI government, saying that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar should have made the person, who has restricted himself to Zaman Park, sit before the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for talks.

rmer prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has again said that he would quit if Maryam awarded the party’s presidency.
In an interview to a television, Abbasi said that his leader is Nawaz Sharif, if Maryam Nawaz elevated to the PML-N’s top office, he will consider remaining in the party’s fold or not.
“I was named the senior vice president of the PML-N when Shehbaz Sharif was arrested in year 2019,” Shahid Khaqan said. “When Maryam was given the leadership position and elevated to the Chief Organizer’s position, I had tendered my resignation at that time from the party office to the PML-N president,” he said. “I could not work further on the party’s office, I told.”
