Besides my point. Other leagues play whatever filth they can get but he will hard time competing for slot as a overseas player.

He is very good player and certainly our best pace allrounder but there at plenty of better all-rounders in international cricket.

Arguably the most gifted clean striker of the ball in the world right now.

Rohit Sharma would hit 15 sixes in match but if you want to hit maximum in the last over youíd have Pandya in there above everyone else in world cricket, iíd Say even Russel and thatís saying a lot.

Pandya’s bowling average is close to 40 in ODIs. Both are mediocre as of now at international level. Pandya has been better with the bat though.

Still lightyears ahead of Faheem who is below club standard. Only Pakistanis compare Faheem with Pandya who has won matches with both bat and ball against top oppositions in all three formats.

Don't fly so high. Pandya's bowling is very mediocre. At least Faheem ranks something in t20is for his bowling.

Pandya won matches with his bowling alone against top teams something Faheem will never be able to do. An utter mediocre player even by current Pakistani standard. I don't really care about minnow bashing.

I am not a fond of comparing two players who have achieved nothing till now. One player doing poorly doesnt make the other one necessarily is top class. I guess Pandya is gonna play all the WC matches so he will have good opportunity to show what he is capable of.

You are purposely ignoring my point, I said despite being a bit inconsistent Pandya in his short career so far won us matches against top oppositions in all formats with both bat and ball, what has Faheem done besides bashing a few minnows here and there? Pandya may not be top class but most definitely not below average like Faheem.

Hardik will come good in the World Cup.

He has been in great hitting form in the IPL, much better than the likes of Asif Ali were in PSL who ended up being hyped to the moon and back.

Agreed. Pandya and Faheem canít be compared. Pandya is a match winner. Faheem is a gully level bowler who pretends he can bat.

Pandya has a test century, 90 in South Africa, some decent innings against Australia.

Hardik Pandya has achieved something at international level. I don't get where this notion of him doing nothing comes from.

Pandya is a damn good lower order bat and very inconsistent bowler with some promise, while Faheem is mediocre with ball and an out and out tailender with the bat. No comparison whatsoever, Faheem literally did nothing of note in his career so far.

True. Most people on this thread were calling him a t20 specialist. I thought the same until I saw this:

"Faheem Ashraf's bowling economy rate in T20Is outside Asia (where the pitches generally are true) is 8.73. If you exclude match vs Scotland and Zimbabwe, the economy rate in 26.5 overs is 10.06!"

Don't know why he's still in the team.

Pandya is in such a monstrous hitting form. Never seen him consistently hitting bowlers like this. If this form translates in the one-dayers in world cup few teams will be psychologically damaged. Hope he clicks against the teams that matter. England has a rubbish bowling. I would be glad if he clicks against Australia.

I dont consider 1 century in tests and few 50s in ODIs as something to reckon with, though its just my opinion. However if its something than what do you say about Shadab who has got 3 50s in tests with better avg than Pandya and has better bowling as well as batting avg than Pandya in ODIs. I dont think even Shadab is Top class at the moment. Faheem scored a 50 in Eng and took 6 wickets in one test in SA. Thats also something.

If he works hard then Pandya definitely can improve.

Though I wouldnt look much into his hitting in IPL. There is difference in hitting Warrier, Chawla etc and international bowlers. He surely has talent but he is far from a player people have in their perception.

He has been hitting international class bowlers at pressure situations in the IPL. Very poor comment from you. If you don’t watch the IPL you shouldn’t make assumptions.

Those knocks I am referring to showed signs of his ability and he is slowly improving. Does Shadab and Faheem show any sign of improving? They are regressing.

Pandya is in phenomenal batting form right now. He's a superstar. Faheem must be great if he's being compared to him. Will be interested in seeing this guy. How good is he?

I was referring to the 80 odd he hit against Chawla, Russel, Warrier, Gurney, Narine. It doesnt look like a great attack to me, if you consider them international class bowlers then I cant say much.

I havent been following the tournament as you have said so he might have played some good innings and that too against international class bowlers. Upon checking few scorecards, he has hit one 6 against Archer and one 6 against Rabada in his last encounter against these two. I dont count Kulkarni, Unadkat, Paul etc as top LOI bowlers, if you consider them top LOI bowlers then thats another matter and if there are some international class LOI bowlers missing from my knowledge against which he hit some extraordinary shots then I am open to enlightenment.

If he plays some game changing knocks in WC I will be appreciating them but I cant predict anything based upon T20 league performances.

Lol! Yes at the moment looks like it the way Faheem has performed in recent times in international cricket though still long long way away from the extreme of Umar Akmal vs Virat Kohli thread. So you never know Faheem might make a comeback.

The bowlers I was referring to are Rabada ,Archer ,etc. I never said those Indian bowlers you have mentioned are not international class. I fully know they are rubbish. I do not understand why you have even made that assumption.

Yeah I was also surprised what kind of bowlers are currently being considered international class bowlers.

I had to made that assumption because not a lot of bowlers playing in most of the IPL teams against which Hardik scored can be considered international class LOI bowlers. Against Rabada and Archer he has hit couple of sixes.

Though I agree against pace bowling he has improved his batting a bit, was always pretty decent hitter against spin.

Not many other batters have shown the form Pandya has, but it’s not his striking ability that has impressed me it is his ability to handle the pressure in difficult situations.

No comparison. Pandya is a proper all rounder who can bowl field and hit sixes.
Faheem is a tailender who gets smashed and pretends he can bat.

His balance at the crease has improved a lot. Now he sets himself deep in the crease waiting for both yorkers and bouncers and slower ones. Your yorker has to be extremely perfect to deny him runs.

He cannot dream of producing the 6-fer vs India against Sehwag, Tendulkar and co that Naved did in 2005.

We should not mention Hardik and Faheem in the same sentence.

Faheem is one of the worst players to come out of Pakistan. He is neither a batsman nor a bowler. A classic definition of bits-pieces player.

On the other hand, Hardik is an ODI legend allrounder in the making.

I think we've seen enough. Faheem is not good enough to open the bowling and he hasn't done jack when it comes to batting. Has been given enough chances.

Keep him in the squad as a fourth seamer, but should only be called upon as cover if anyone gets injured. Amir and Hasan have proved to be much better batsmen, while their bowling prowess is a level above Faheem.

Yes I'd even stick Hasan Ali at 8 ahead of Faheem Ashraf, that's how poor Ashraf's batting contributions have been. Even Rana Naved back in the day has a higher batting average than Faheem does.

In the World Cup, we should just play our best three pacers and play three spinners in Hafeez, Imad and Shadab who can bat at 8 (another pseudo AR but less sucky than Ashraf).

Shadab has shown us enough to suggest he is also a fighter, and doesn't wilt under pressure like Faheem. Faheem has done absolutely nothing, besides a few sixes here and there.

What bothers me is why they are intent on giving him the new ball. It's as if they somehow want to fit Faheem into the team, when it's clear he is the weakest pacer in the squad and allows the opposition to settle down in the early exchanges.

The psl thing is ott. He was the leading wicket taker in 2018 I think and was the second highest wicket taker this year. He is a good psl player but definitely not a good international player.
