Beating australia in test cricket is special . No matter what the strength.
The match is still not over. We have to score 200 more runs and get 10 Australian wickets. Australia are a good side. But TBH even before the match I felt that Bangladesh would start as favorites. I know Bangladesh players felt so, a few experts like dean Jones felt so.

Winning this match won't give extra feeling because Australia aren't the force they used to be. But its a matter of bragging rights. People down under look down upon our team.

When Shakib went to play in the BBL for his second stint people barely mentioned that he is the top allrounder. Some commies mentioned that he was the captain of BD (he was not at the time)

It's important that the world knows we have world class cricketers, that we can become a formidable side someday. Ofcourse we have shown our potential to all other teams but yet to show it to Australia

What score would you say you need minimum? Currently 88-1. Would 200 be enough?

200 would mean we would have an outside chance of winning. 250 means we have 70/30 chance of winning. 300 means game pretty much over for Australia.

Bangladesh should try to be watchful first hour of morning session. Try to nudge ball around and score around 3 runs an over for morning session. If they dont lose too many wickets, they should try to score 4-5 an over and get the lead to 300ish. Let Australia play 15-20 overs tomorrow and get 2-3 wickets like 1st inning and put the Australian lower order under immense pressure.

M Hassan should open the bowling with Fizz. Warner is walking wicket against offies.

I think Bangladesh can win this if they set Australia 250 to win. Even 200 could be a challenge for Australia. This pitch is only going to get tougher to bat on as the game progresses and with Australian batsman still playing spin woefully and Bangladesh having 3 spinners who have confidence and control in their home conditions, I'd back them to win.

Seriously though, Aussies. Stop playing on the back-foot so much!

Alarming signs for Australia. Smith seems to be the only batsman who can actually bat outside Australia.

It'll - early morning moisture has bonded the surface slightly, therefore it's better time to bat (& hence Tamim is trying for a head start). Once the Sun burns the moisture, wicket should grip.

That would have been credit & dis credit to respective batsmen or bowler - you have to come out of old English thoughts that it's the wicket that makes spinners - actually other way.

Depends on how we catch - if bowlers are to take 10 wickets only, it won't be easy for the Aussies to better 1st innings, which had 35% contribution from last 2 pairs.

Because, we play too little Test, therefore you can't change too much. Imrul to his credit saved a Test against PAK with Tamim, next 3 Test were almost washed out, so draw & his failures were not counted. Next Test series was a year later & he did play a significant innings at Dhaka against Poms. Such players won't survive 3 or more Test series.

Chill - we'll have to play really, really bad to lose it from here. Aussie tail won't bail them every time from 144/8; but we won't get Smith/Warner in single digit every time either.

    Ditto

We are effectively 126/3 and need 124 more runs to set a difficult target. One of the wickets lost was that of a tail ender and the other 2 were off form. Important thing is that our top 3 batsmen are still out there.

Need to play real bad to lose from here but that's still possible.

So far 250+ has been chased only 3 times in the SC by non Asian teams.

Funnily enough 300+ has been chased against us twice by NZ and Australia. My words those matches were such big misses, we should have won them. But weak sides find it difficult to close games

Won't - we don't have bowlers to take wickets in AUS & they won't play for mile stone - the'll keep scoring at 4.5+/overs, for whatever wickets it costs & take out rain loss for 170 overs.

Sorry bro we are not better than Australia. We don't have any quality pacer. If have someone even as good as Riaz and Amir who haven't been their best in tests, we could become competitive.

Australia are still giving competition to BD. BD would struggle in Australia. Pakistan struggled in Australia and Pakistan are a much better side right now

Indeed a good bowler, but he actually bowled poor this innings. His 2 wickets were one lofted at long on & the other one a NWM. Bowling on such wickets is a bit difficult than it looks - for big turns, it looks like there are lots of happening, but players who can play spin will keep leaving many of those. Lyon hardly attacked wicket.

Officially, unsatisfactory performance (he indeed didn't take 12 wickets after Pune); unofficially, he got a bit too thirsty (2nd time in 6 months) in a party arranged by CA and at one point mixed identity between a female guest & his Missus ......

Great session for us, potentially match winning - only one effective wicket down (that too Imrul, I must say) and 89 on board added. If possible, we should look to bat positively & get Aussies to face music for 10 overs this evening.

I think we should be slightly more aggressive in the next session. Score 100 runs. Anything.more than that is a bonus

Aussies at most shared 1 session - 5th one. Do you think Aussies were happy to go to lunch, BD at 96/3 from 10/3? 4th session was also lost, because of losing Smith & Hashcomb.

By shared I mean no team won convincingly.

This session for example was convincing win for us because we score 90 runs lost 2 wickets one of a tail ender

They are grooming Agar who is 9 years younger for the next tour of India which OKeefe won't be able to make most likely.

Need to keep calm. We have 5 proper batsmen left. That should be enough to get another 70-80 runs.

Bangladesh's lead is 1 less than Australia's score in the first innings.

I reckon we have got the bare minimum score already. All the runs from here onwards will give us extra confidence

    How greedy can you be?

Be happy with the current target as it is.
