Has Harry Kane proven himself as a world-class striker?

He overcame the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Cavani and Lewandowski to finish as Europe's top scorer in 2017.

He may not be a one-season wonder, but has he proven himself as world-class?

He's a great finisher no doubt, but I dont think he has the skills to compare him to Ronaldo and Messi.

Yes. Scores against good teams too, not one of those players who goes missing in the big games.

He is better than Rooney. The best player England has produced since Gazza and Scholes.

No not yet. Has to do it in the Champions League against top sides to be considered as World Class. Also has to score regularly for England as well.

Kane doesn't play in the same position as Messi or Ronaldo. He should be compared with other center-forwards such as Aguero, Suarez, Lewandowski, Aubameyang et al. And in my opinion, he is right at the top.

Where Kane lacks compared to other strikers is that he is only an out and out 9. Kind of like Lukaku or Lewandowski. No other role for him on the pitch.

Cannot be in the same bracket as the now modern, multi-dimensional attackers, that can rove across the front line, as well as beat a defender one on one when positioned slightly wide.

Think that with the way modern football is going, this type of striker is likely to die out. SO Tottenham are lucky in one sense to have him. The flip side, as Spurs are finding out, is that having Kane, and building a way of playing that suits him makes it a problem when he is injured.

Difficult to find another lead the line striker that is effective enough to provide cover. United will find the same with Lukaku. Had to play a different style of football to accommodate Martial as the 9 against Everton.

Kane is a beast for Spurs in the PL but at the international level he has been pretty average and no better than most of the overhyped rubbish over the years.

Until he starts helping Spurs to win some trophies it's too soon to judge. Heck, Vardy's goals played a major part in helping Leicester City win the PL in a tight race with Spurs, and yet even a deluded Leicester City fan wouldn't classify Vardy as being world class.
