If he likes pace and bounce when he bats, he has to replace Yasir Shah for the December Test series in South Africa.
Spinners barely bowl down there. The position needs to go to the better batsman of the two.
Philander And Morkel And Rabada will frequently reduce Pakistan to 90-4 by the time the Kookaburra ball goes soft at 25 overs.
Pakistan need to ensure that Numbers 6-9 take the total on to 305 all out by the time the second new ball arrives at 80 overs.

Shadab has done decent job during this tour but the so called batsmen in our team need to stand up. Babar has really dissapointed for me, really expected him to do well. Hasan & Shadab want to win every match and give their 100%

90-4? 305? Even Indian batting lineup is not doing that well. Proteas are planning to play 4 quicks throughout their home tests, & the memories of 49 all-out are still not that old for us.

Frankly speaking, bad form of PCB/Pak team management to put Shadab in front of English speaking journos.
For such an important presser, Mickey should have come out and faced the press.

At least he can bat, he's essentially playing as a specialist batsmen here, and he's done better job than most of the middle order.

Maybe he should realise darting the ball at the batsmen isn't going to work every single time. Slow it down, drift the ball. He needs to learn these things, if no-one will teach him.

It's also a bit stupid from the selectors to send two spinners to NZ instead of another fast bowler. Also the team management should have considered playing Yamin instead.
..
It's typical Pakistani going with their own strength instead of analyzing the opposition and knowing the wicket they will be playing on. Just like they went with 4 pacers vs India on a spinning wicket in 2016.

Spinners are pretty useless when playing in Aus, NZ and SA. Shadab should have known that.
Spinners play only to give some rest to main bowlers and keep up with the over rate.
I have seen a plenty of Indian spinners fail miserably in those conditions.
