For those watching in bed - we'll find out in the first few overs whether we'll be jumping in delight, or cowering under the duvet like the last two ODIs.

Knowing Sarfraz Ahmed I'm sure he will chose to bowl first if he won the toss today..

As expected only one change. Untouchable Azhar still there. Our management will never learn. Hope all our seniors will fail miserably and we loose badly to get rid of these mafias.
-
12th January 2018, 20:37 #27
Wow this team selection is so disappointing from Pakistan. You've lost the last 2 games convincingly with the same set of players and yet in a must win match, you refuse to make a single meaningful change. Fakhar coming back was always expected but I really thought Imam would not be the one to make way for him. Azhar has had 2 chances and got out without doing much and getting out in the same manner. Expect another failure. And still no Haris or Yamin. Ugh.
-
12th January 2018, 20:40 #28
The seniority culture within the Pakistan setup is disgusting. Azhar has two poor failures but is still kept in at the expense of Imam. Totally unfair on the kid to be dropped after one game.

Team selection is based on the assumption the only thing wrong with the batting last time out was the absence of Fakhar.
Even with Fakhar, the batting unit is still weak. I guess Azhar and Malik are untouchable.

I guess we will see the youngsters given a chance once the series has been decided and it's a dead rubber. Or perhaps not, perhaps they will keep on playing the same team in the hopes of at least winning one game.
-
12th January 2018, 20:43 #33
As usual, they'll make changes for the next game which would be a dead rubber after they've lost this one. The word proactive means nothing to our management. Who does Haris have to do to get in the team...

-
12th January 2018, 20:44 #35
The team selection is disgusting, Fakhar was bound to play after recovering. So Imam covered for him for one match, which essentially means no actual changes have been made for 3 matches and we've been destroyed in two. I really don't get why we play like this and end up trying the players after we lose the series! God its annoying!

Can't believe they have not given Haris a chance - when the current top order batting line up can't even score 200 without the help of the tail.

Pakistan is following 'Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results' mantra to the T. I agree, they need to change SOMETHING. The batting order should definitely be shuffled. I personally would have liked to see Babar opening with Fakhar and Haris coming in at 3. Yamin is a very decent all rounder who's barely got a sniff at international level. Don't see anything but a convincing NZ victory in this game.

NZ may end up score 400 and our batsmen will tuk tuk to score 270 with classic 50 knock by Azhar to seal his place
-

So as per Sarfaraz and Arthur the only thing wrong with the side in the 2nd ODI was that Fakhar didn't play?
The days are numbered for both if such mentality continues to prevail. Arthur we all knew was a con-man but I expected better from Ahmed.

Disgusting and Pathetic ... I'll be very happy with a 5-0 white was here... only and only if we can get rid of the old rust on the side... they keep playing these pathetic world class experienced TTF's without even considering the few ODI's pakistan is scheduled to play as per FTP before the next world cup, they are denying young players to get any experience to get some cricket under their belt. I'm sick and tired of the current management and their thinking.
