So the plan of Faheem vs Munro works! You could see it was obvious they wanted Munro caught on the off side the way Faheem was pitching it short.

Difference between NZ & PAK openers is that, so far out of 19 balls, Amir drifted once on leg stick, it went for SIX. Next over Fahim bowls one short wide - it went for SIX.

Last ODI, 1st over, Southee bowled arguably 2 worse balls outside off - Azhar shoulder armed both.

NZ does that on purpose. They know everything outside off to Azhar is a dot ball.

Pak batsmen approach batting with fear in their minds hence the inability to punish bad balls.

It's incapability, not fear. Fear makes people desperate, not defensive. Azhar Ali doesn't have any shot outside off - in fact anywhere apart from leg side deflection.

Quite sad how easy it is for New Zealand batsmen. See off Amir, take on the other bowlers. Junaid or Shinwari would have made a difference here for sure. Pakistan bowling is severely handicapped right now.

He can drive on the raise also, but not after 4 hours of batting - that's 58 overs or post Tea. Anyone can play any shot, but Azhar won't last more than few balls, if he tries to accelerate out side his comfort zone.

Need to keep this pressure on these two. Guptill is not patient enough. Get Taylor in early.
