    New Zealand vs Pakistan | 4th ODI | Hamilton | Jan 16, 2018 | Pakistan Innings

    Teams:

    New Zealand:
Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson (c), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wk), Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Colin de Grandhomme, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult.

Pakistan: Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk/c), Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Rumman Raees.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat.
Hamilton - 16 January, 2018: "Imam Ul-Haq reported having excessive swelling and stiffness of his left index finger late last night. It did not resolve after being treated. This morning he still present with some stiffness and discomfort which prevented him from being able to fully grip his bat. He has been advised to rest for it to settle without being further aggravated and should make a speedy recovery in the next day or two", said Pakistan Team Physiotherapist, Vib Singh.

Some of the selection of this tour has been quite appalling. Azhar ali despite 2 poor outings given a chance in 3rd game while Imam only got 1 game, how unfair this is with a youngster, So far i am disappointed with sarfraz ahmed, he has not helped his own cause by playing hafeez who cant bowl, Azhar coming back from an injury with little match practice under his belt.

Pakistan biggest problem has been that they are relying on seniors too much, but infact both hafeez and malik are average cricketers yet both are playing non stop and considering their previous performances than both failed in CT.

Pakistan need to get more batsmen in the team rather than bowlers, we have good attack who can win you series but not good enough batsmen to give us that chance.

Why not send open with fahim ashraf and play amir yamin. I think Pakistan think tank are failing to understand that fahim can be a real deal in the First 10 overs of PP.

They could try Hasan Ali , shadab and Amir yamin as pinch hitters. Faheem should be invested in.. he has improved his bowling too.

Presumably one of the seniors would have dropped out for Haris if that had happened.

These measures will never be taken under Waqar.

This is some real innovative stuff from Mickey.

The reason Mickey has had his money worth.

He sure has an eye of seeing the talent and then giving it the platform to perform.

Credit to Mickey he has made some changes in the past, like bringing Sami Aslam against England, playing Shafiq one down vs England. Playing Fakhar in CT. Bringing in Sharjeel vs Australia in the 3rd test match. He does have an eye for talent specially batsmen.

Whoa Faheem opening was the last thing I was thinking. They obviously want to get to a fast start but still I wasn't expecting this. Hafeez & Malik retained which is not surprising. But good to see Haris Sohail playing.

Waqar Younis just mentioned in commentary they wanted to play Imam in place of Hafeez but as he got injured in the nets, Hafeez plays. I would've much rather preferred Yamin to play with Sarfraz playing at 5. Oh well.

One big improvement area for FZ is that he misses too many loose balls. TB bowled quite a poor over and still manages with one hit.
