It will interesting to see approach of SA batsmen against spinners today.
Last match they attacked as they had no option and it worked very well.

When has Rohit Sharma ever scored ' tough runs'. Always seems to score in India, or on a flat pitch.

Has he ever scored runs like Kohli where the team are in a hole, and he has to bail them out.

RSA will win this one. Conditions suit their bowlers, and India are batting first. India to scramble a score of 220.

Well Rohit Sharma the monster always takes ages to get going even on Indian Flat pitches. Suppose his so-called "lazy elegance" goes for a toss even on those super-flat tracks, he is likely to have eaten 20 to 30 balls! He should be nowhere in the T20 side for this sole reason! (I guess he does not open even for his IPL team for this reason! He bats in the middle order. So he should not play for India in T20)

Rohit has same consistency issues compared to Rahul. But Rohit is persisted for strange reasons!

Seriosuly I am surprised as to how come SA became number 1. They have a very poor ODI outfit. Bowlers are a hit and miss and batting too dependant on AB and FAF. Gone are the days of kallis, kluesner, pollock and boje

I don't think he ever has. But then again the modern ODI is all about the Rohit's, Hales',Roy's,Finch's etc.

Rohit is better than all of them. He has no issues in one dayers. Only in Tests he has issues. Rabada had his number though in this series. He is okay overall in the last couple of years as an opener. He clicks more often than not.

Example: Saeed Anwars 194 is classic because he scored it against a fierce fast bowling attack. but RS three 200s well...heavy bats, weak bowling attack, flat track, BCCI money power, tiny grounds etc etc etc

He's a decent batsman but his ODI career has been based on bullying SL,BD and depleted Australian bowling attacks. The moment the pitches are bowler friendly or the quality of the pace attack is good, he goes missing aplenty.

Yes....modern day ODI cricket is full of flat pitches, and more often than not, Rohit Sharma will succeed on them.

The reason I asked the question is because on one hand, you have a player like Kohli, who I think can score runs anywhere, and also has the ability to turn a game around. Rohit Sharma, to my mind, does not - and that's the point I was making.

Also, if the next ODI WC was to be held in the Sub Continent, then I would have no issues with Rohit Sharma. But as its in England, then on certain pitches, and in certain situations, I would not be sure whether he would turn up.

And do you really think Rohit Sharma is a 'legend'?

Not really. SA just has a very poor ODI bowling. They should play philander as he could be deadly in WC 19. There is no firepower in their bowling . A little bit like england but England has a gun batting lineup while SA does not. Watch kuldeep and chahal cause destruction if no rains

Absolutely ridiculous to discredit Rohit Sharma's 3 double hundreds just because they came in India. Why aren't the other batsmen smashing double centuries? I can bet none of the Pakistani batsmen starting from 1947 to date can score 264 on a flat pancake of a wicket in Pakistan even against Papua New Guinea. Rohit is a world class ODI batsman. I don't understand why is it so difficult for people to admit it.

Kohli's run out is surely gonna cost us big matches in future. He should understand for single you cant yourself when set every time. It's not just with rohit but he does with rahane & dhawan too in past.

Kohli is trying to reach Inzy levels of run out. Gotta get that record too huh?

The reason I asked the question is because on one hand, you have a player like Kohli, who I think can score runs anywhere, and also has the ability to turn a game around. Rohit Sharma, to my mind, does not - and that's the point I was making.

Also, if the next ODI WC was to be held in the Sub Continent, then I would have no issues with Rohit Sharma. But as its in England, then on certain pitches, and in certain situations, I would not be sure whether he would turn up.

And do you really think Rohit Sharma is a 'legend'?
Our ODI batting is pretty much only Kohli and Dhawan in tough conditions. Ideally, i think Rohit should not make it to England because he will get exposed but I personally think our batting stocks are nowhere near as good as they once were. Rohit atleast can dominate on flat tracks which others seem to struggle to do so i guess if we do get flat tracks at the World Cup he might be an asset.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to see his fourth double.

Rohit will always be an asset imo. The guy has the ability to change the outcome of the match singlehandedly. He does need to be more consistent but never in a million years should he be dropped from the team.

Was rohit's fault, there was a run there, rahane ran more than half the field twice and couldn't make it, if rohit moved his fat *** when the call came there was an easy single there.
