Watto was my Captain today
Among every calls in PSL, the worst one for me is that emerging quota. This is a dead rubber for QG (I understand the values of finishing in top 2), and still they are not giving Saud, Saad any game.
I feel, this emerging quota is well planned to serve opportunist oldies. They are putting whole bunch of promising young players in emerging quota, and then rule is allowing them to select only one of them - that too often for just to make the numbers. For KK, they selected only one emerging (read about Kalharoo or some kid, and a restaurant boy as well - never seen), and they are forced to play that Irfan guy for 8 games. On top of that, this guy is selected 2nd time as "Emerging"
If there has to be a emerging quota - it has to be for U19 and one played can't be picked twice as emerging; it might work a little after that.

If Amad can add a little bit pace and his hitting ability, actually a better prospect than Fahim. That leg-cutter which got Roy squired-up, is one of the balls of PSL - and this is not traditional reverse swing or yorker; this is classic new ball weapon, which will get through the defense of many top order, even while trying to survive. Fahim is a bit limited, when it comes to penetration, might struggle to make the XI as 3rd pacer, but Amad can.
-
15th March 2018, 15:36 #32
Fahim is seriously good... I'm impressed with what I'm seeing of Amad Butt as well. Pakistan is blessed to have both. Don't know how good Butt is with the bat

This QG side would be absolutely horrible without their foreign players, lets see what the Pakistanis can do now, hopefully they can pick up their game. Don't want another repeat of the last final later on.

This is one reason I hate T20 - don't disagree with Misbah to take off Amad, because he has done his job of taking out one set batsman; but this game is too short to enjoy the skills of the game.

Lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng way to reach Razzak. Razzak wasted himself, otherwise could have finished as a better Test all-rounder than Flintoff. In ODI, he was even better.
I do know Razzak has few (actually lot more than few) years hidden in his certificate, but that can be true to an extent for Fahim as well. By 23, Razzak was word's top ODI all-rounders, even in Tests - he had 3 %fors, and 3 Test hundreds by 2004 (at 24, officially). In ODI, won the MoS in WSC at official 19/20, when at least 10 ATGs were playing in that 1999 WSC. Fahim actually is hardly anyone yet, apart from potential.

I think the first goal Faheem (and Pandya for that matter) should set himself is to be as good as Holder. Holder is just couple of years older (a genuine 26) and already has 1000 runs in both format, 100s in Test, 99 in ODI along with 6 fifties. He also has 53 test wickets at 38 in tests and 101 wickets at 31 in ODI. I am sure Pakistan will take it. As an Indian fan I know i will take that from Pandya if he can do it in next two years..
