I was never against the young players I'm not even against babar
I said in the past it's azhar Shafiq and sarfraz who are the senior players and need to step up to the next level and fill younis and misbahs shoes and 2 have failed , Shafiq was ok but sorry you need to go to the next level and score the big hundreds younis was able to do so many times convert those fifties into big hundreds .
As for azhar ali and the captain their days are numbered there are number of players waiting in the wings both are under pressure imo , natural ability and talent wise both are very limited

Ridiculous that Hasan is sitting out to play useless Rahat else Amir & Hasan after these 2 could add more valuable runs!

Ireland would be happy walking off as with another 22 overs left today they could have well got the score to 350 the way these two were going.
Bad timing though for Pakistan.

And this is test cricket. For pets sake a spinner and medium pacer are bowling. Really they kill all the fun!
How on earth we will get a result like this.
Pathetic.

I would you say you have got it completely the wrong way around. We should never look past performance, which is to say, the record of what a player has actually done. Stats is basically that performance written down and stripped of some contextual nuance. It ain't the only thing to look at, but it's pretty silly to ignore it. Now sometimes we may not have a record available. A youngsta beauty with just a few matches jumps unto the scene, all other options appear to have failed, and we decided to take a punt. Fair enough. But what make no sense is to keep selecting for instance Rahat, on the basis of the fact that he looks good, and thus ignore the mountain of historical evidence which tells us that he does not actually perform well enough often enough. Fawad is an awkward case because he's clearly made a case for selection, many times over. But there were other options available which unlike Rahat actually had the stats on their side, too. There were no major howlers in the batting selection for this series. Haris and Azhar were self-selecting. Babar deserved more chances, if not many more perhaps. Imam did well in the warm ups. Maybe I would have liked Aslam still, but there was a case for Imam. Shafiq was the most dubious selection to my mind, but he's repaid the faith put in him. There are no major selection blunders to blame for this batting performance, just the seemingly eternal Pakistani aversion to seam bowling.

How much should I bet that Amir, Abbas, and Rahat will combine for a grand total of ONE wicket!!!!! Shadab and Faheem are essentially leading the team, they will get 5 and 3 Wickets a piece!! Shame on all the other 9 players!! Pakistan is relying on a teenager playing his second Test and a youngster on debut!!! No one else is performing!!! Shame on Pakistan!!

Shadab and Faheem have put Pakistan in control. Well played by both. Like the fact they reminded positive under pressure. Most experienced player may have gone into their shell but these 2 didn't.

Not good. We should be scoring about 400-3 after the first days play. It is a typical Pak score here struggling to impress against a bunch of amateurs. Any other side would be in a much better position. England won't be at all concerned seeing our batting failures.

Good stuff by Shadab and Faheem, this is why all rounders matter so much. Shadab has looked a very decent bat since that New Zealand tour. A great find for Pakistan
Still not entirely convinced about Faheem but Pakistan need to invest in a long term all rounder. I think he is better than Anwar Ali not sure about Yamin. They need a fast bowling all rounder like Razzak or Mahmood to find that right balance. Hope faheem is the answer.
