    Pakistan will lose atleast one of the openers early in a run chase as is the norm so ireland just need to get a threatening lead of maybe 100.

    In addition, these conditions are not conductive for Shadab and neither does he have the experience and discipline for Test cricket yet.

    The England series is shaping up to be a nightmare for us.
    Rahat is rubbish, Hasan untested, and Amir a walking injury. But Abbas looks very capable of running through a team in England this time of year. And I mean by this taking 5 fers and such, (as opposed to the Wahab Riaz version of "running through a team" ie a burst of two 2-3 "crucial" wickets.)

    Consider, what did Sohail bring to the table in the last England series, when he took consecutive 5fers, that Abbas does not? Abbas already has a 5 fer in 5 Tests so far, and an eye watering 7 10 fers in just 65 FC matches, whereas Sohail, an FC beast, needed 90 plus matches to get to the same tally.

    Abbas will be lead wicket taker for Pakistan is my bet, possibly behind only Anderson and Broad in the overall series tallies.

    The sensible thing to do clearly, would be for the PCB and the management staff to send Rahat back and put two backups on a plane to the Isles, in case Amir gets injured. Hamza and Sadaf would be perfect.

    Since First day was completely washed out and even Toss wasn't possible so follow onargin gets reduced from 200 to 150. So they needed 161 to avoid follow on.

    Interesting fact : If toss happens on first day and no play happens at all, the follow on margin will still remain 200; some weird rules in Cricket

    They didn't have any play at on day one, not even the coin toss, so it became a four day test. If it's a 4 day game, the follow on target changes from within 200 runs to 150 runs.

    I hear you, it's so cringey when Pakistan players are so excessive with their celebrations when it comes to winning meaningless T20s and half centuries against minnows.

    They have taken 16 wickets for 320 so far. That's not bad going.

    Before the game, Pakistan would have taken this situation with eyes closed - away from home, alien conditions, cold weather, inexperienced team, limited warm up.

    One or two weak links but overall not bad.

    FYI, these are the follow on targets:

    - 150 runs in a match of 3 or 4 days;

    - 100 runs in a 2-day match;

    - 75 runs in a 1-day match.

    Pak will win by 8 wickets.

    Irish trying their best to set a decent target.

    I reckon, Ireland will get a lead of around 80. Then Pak will knock it off with only 2 wickets down.

    Irish bowling is harmless.

    Great effort from Ireland to be at 212/6 against a very good Pak attack.

    If Irish can score 300 from here, they should be extremely happy. Not easy to survive for noobs to survive an attack of Amir, Shadab, Rahat for these many overs in helpful conditions.

    Don't be too upset man, someone Gary Sobers also didn't know this rule, after 20 years of cricket - got into an ugly spat with Wadekar, when the later asked him to get ready for batting again.

    Rahat Ali to Thompson, no run, edged, and just short of the diving keeper! A regulation nick to a lifter on off stump, but it was always heading down, so Sarfraz ended up sprawling at first slip's feet... EDIT: I think that did carry actually. A tough chance but a drop all the same

    Is Rahat bowling filth or RADAR less? I read it's cloudy, can't be that he isn't swinging the new ball.

    IT's swinging, first two balls found the edge but the third was a wide ball that deserved to be clattered.

    Could be stamina - pacers are bowling non stop for almost 2 days now. Both Abbas & Rahat are close to 30, .... officially.

    Impressed with Ireland application, and now they are putting the foot to the pedal. Pakistan look demoralized and tired. The rain might yet end up saving Pakistan rather than Ireland.

    Guy was a 400 wicket Test bowler, only if he had few of years in proper system in his early 20s - that's 12-13 years back. Every material is there and he is like 6'2/3", can reach 145K as well; just not much inside the beautiful thing hanging upon his shoulders .

    Amir is grimacing after finishing his bowling stride. He looks unfit.

    Pak should bowl him less from here on. He is more important for England Tests.

    He has been given orders to make himself look mortal to make sure the ground can get some money back after the day one washout. The Rahat is nothing if not magnanimous.

    If Ireland can score another 100 runs they have good chance to win this match. Rahat is such a rubbish. Should be a good lesson for Micky and Inzi to leave Sadaf,selecting Babar.
