How often do you eat vegetables weekly?

In Pakistan I have noticed it is we Muhajirs who eat the most vegetable dishes, obviously because of the Indian influence. In my home, my mom usually makes vegetarian dishes 3-4 times a week, for example right now I am having Bhindi with roti. Yesterday I had Chana curry. Monday it was was Daal Chawal. Usually on Friday, Sat, Sunday my mom makes meat dishes like Biryani, Pulao, Nihari etc....

I think other Pakistanis eat more meat? especially Pathans

I want to eat more vegetables weekly, I was highly moved and inspired by freelance bro's wonderful thread on becoming vegetarian...although not enough to actually become vegetarian, but would love to eat more veg anyway as I feel it makes for a healthier diet. Unfortunately the wife isn't good at cooking veg dishes even though she seems to think she's done a great job.

Did you just generalize about 20 million "urdu speaking" people (I hate the term Muhajir)..... I belong to the same community and my house had one meat dish and one vegetarian dish every day. Obviously some days it was just daal chawal or kichri, but meat was served atleast 4-5 times a week.

As I've grown up I have kinda kept the same tradition in my own home, meaning meat 4-5 times a week and vegetarian dishes the rest of the time.

Every day, preferably raw or cooked with minimum fuss. This is a recent lifestyle change, growing up in Pakistan you barely ate vegetables unless it was an add-on to some meat dish (e.g. aloo gosht, palak chicken, etc). Turns out fresh fruits and veggies are essential to healthy living.

At least 2 vegetable dishes with every main meal - usually dinner. And that excludes the lentil dishes. And frequently vegetables are added to the meats - eg stews. That's when my wife is cooking.
Fewer veggies when I cook - I can only do variations on mushrooms, tomato, beans, asparagus and carrots. Or a salad. Can't seem to get the flavour my wife manages with any vegetable.

Honestly I do, just steamed Plain veg with some steamed fish with it.

Don't taste great, but honestly I feel the difference instantly.

I'm not sure if you're actually Pakistani. I've been to rural Punjab and people there eat more vegetables and it's the same in rural sindh. Karachiites tend to eat more meat cause of the Mughal influence, this is the first time I'm hearing thay they eat more vegetables.

Most of the popular Punjabi dishes are made of lentils and vegetables, and chicken is the prefered meat. I've noticed Karachiites prefer beef whereas in Punjab chicken is more popular. You should have done a little more research so people can take you more seriously.

veg in curry can be nice, like lady finger with chicken, chick peas with chicken.

my family makes the biriyani with no potato, but my sister who married to a mir-puri- she now makes it with potato due to his side of the family makes it that

Haleem doesn't count dude, I don't know why but I don't count it as a veggie dish.

Just something doesn't sit well with me with it being considered a veggie dish, even though "technically" it is one.

Like tomatoes being "technically" fruits but you don't think of a tomato when someone says the word fruit.

Harees is really bland mixture which they distribute from the Sheikhas Palace (especially the Shekiha Maryam Palace) for free but almost all Desis who get it from there also add a "tarka" to it to make it more edible.

I don't think they are legendary at all, although I will admit the keema kareley is an exeption which I do like. Keema does actually go pretty well with veg with it being a dry dish so you can have that one.
