Sits with a guy who claims to be involved in doing fixings and will conduct fixing in future. Comes out next day and says its a conspiracy against him.

ICC could ban him for not reporting this.

He might be a corrupt guy, but problem is now that it has to be proven.

Just watched the full Al Jazeera programme and it had one segment where a whole UAE T20 tournament was being organised with all the matches in it being fixed. They then showed a clip where Hasan Raza agreed to take part in it.

This lines up quite well with the video below from the Ajman All Stars League, which the ICC investigated and concluded that there was strong evidence that corruption did take place. And guess what... Hasan Raza was playing in that tournament! So I guess that was the tournament they were talking about in the documentary.

Apart from that, the documentary has some pretty strong allegations as it clearly states that three England players and two Australian players were involved in spot-fixing in matches against India. The names are bleeped out unfortunately but it will be interesting to see if anything unfolds from this...

    I watched the whole documentary.

There is absolutely NO PROOF of spot fixing deal happening and taking place. The reporter is just sitting with Indian and Sri Lankan people and talking. They “blur” out anything specific, and show no proof that alleged Test matches were fixed.

Hasan Raza denies involvement in fixing scandal

Former Pakistan middle-order batsman Hasan Raza has rejected claims that he was involved in alleged spot-fixing after being caught on video in a sting operation by Al Jazeera.

Hasan, the youngest cricketer ever to play a Test match, was caught on camera along with former Indian cricketer Robin Morris during the sting operation.

The duo were previously members of the same team — Mumbai Champs — in the discontinued Indian Cricket League during 2007-08.
Raza was filmed sitting next to Morris, despite taking no active part in the conversation, with the latter discussing details about how to fix T20 matches.

But Raza, in an statement, rejected claims of his involvement in any wrongdoings.

“People are trying to trap me in this but I’ve not done anything wrong,” he said as quotes by Daily Express. “I was asked to help them in attaining the services of the players. All I did was tell those players to not get involved in anything wrong.”

Raza had earlier not responded when approached by Al Jazeera on the issue, while Morris said that the news channel invited him to act in a commercial movie for public entertainment and denies any wrongdoing.

Earlier, Al Jazeera had also alleged that the pitch curator in Galle, Sri Lanka, for the Tests against India in 2017 and Australia in 2016 had prepared the surfaces in accordance with the directions from a person involved in betting.

Because Raza is physically present and rest aren’t.

It seem Aljazeera indepdently can’t confirm the words of fixer and to avoid legality issues they have decided not to reveal the name of players.

All Ajazeera did was to asked expert the possibility of some truth in what fixers had said but never confirmed due to lack of solid and physical evidence.

Immature investigation by Aljazeera, took them 18 months of investigation but couldn’t find a way to reveal the names of the players?

By not revealing the names,Aljazeera itself had discredited this investigation.

The only people to suffer the consequences are the people shown in the video.

Pitch-fixing claims difficult to believe: SLC

COLOMBO: Sri Lankan cricket board on Monday described allegations of pitch-tampering at Galle International Stadium as ‘difficult to believe’ but agreed to cooperate fully with an international investigation.

TV news channel Al Jazeera broadcast a documentary on Sunday showing a groundsman and a player allegedly discussing altering the pitch at Galle during Australia’s 229-run loss in the second Test against Sri Lanka in 2016.

Australia lost all their 20 wickets and were beaten inside three days.

Galle groundsman Tharanga Indika and professional cricketer Tharindu Mendis also allegedly speculated about fixing the pitch to ensure a result in under four days in the Test against England in November.

Both men have been suspended by Sri Lanka Cricket pending the outcome of an investigation by the International Cricket Council. A third man, provincial coach Jeevantha Kulathunga, was also suspended.

But Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC)’s vice president Mohan de Silva said there had been no complaints about the Galle pitch from captains, umpires or the referee during the match between Australia and Sri Lanka in 2016.

“There is no need to investigate the Test. Players did not complain. Captains report, umpires report and the match referee’s report did not say anything about the pitch,” he told reporters. “There is nothing adverse about the pitch. It is difficult to believe there was any wrongdoing.”

Indika and Mendis were stood down on Sunday after a trailer for the Al Jazeera documentary was aired.

Kulathunga was suspended after the full programme by the Qatari channel alleged corruption at the highest levels of world cricket.

Sri Lanka cricket chief executive Ashley de Silva said the alleged involvement of Sri Lankans in the scandal dealt a blow to the island’s reputation.

“It has created kind of a bad impact on the organisation and the country as a whole.... We are not encouraging this type of thing [corruption],” de Silva said.

The board lodged a complaint on Sunday with Sri Lankan police, who have initiated a separate criminal investigation.

The board has also appointed a three-member panel to investigate the matter and issue recommendations to prevent any corruption at future fixtures in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan players and umpires have been accused of match-fixing in the past.

Jayananda Warnaweera, a former curator at Galle, remains under a three-year ban by cricket’s world governing body until January next year for failing to cooperate with a corruption inquiry.

No big-name Sri Lankan player has ever been convicted of corruption but several stars have alleged match-fixing and spot-fixing.

Hasan Raza’s involvement in pitch doctoring unfortunate: Mushtaq Mohammad

Former Pakistani captain Mushtaq Mohammad could not believe that his world record breaker Hasan Raza would ever involve in sport-fixing or his name would involve in doctoring the pitches.

In October 1996, the Pak batsman Hasan Raza at the age of 14 years-227 days became the youngest Test batsman (versus Zimbabwe at Faisalabad) and broke the record of Mushtaq Mohammad 15 years 124 days) which he made against West Indies (Lahore) in 1959.

Speaking exclusively over telephone from England, where he is based for years now, Mushtaq Mohammad said, “I could not believe that Hasan Raza would ever involve in playing with the pitch”.

“In fact, it was I who as a coach had recommended his inclusion in the team. The selectors were thinking him to be too young to play the Test cricket at this age”.

“It is very sad and unfortunate that he fell into the bad company”, Mushtaq added.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reviewing reports of Hasan Raza’s involvement in “corrupt conduct” in doctoring the pitches in Sri Lanka. Sri lanka Cricket (SLC) board has handed over the inquiries to the CID (Criminal Investigation Department).

SLC’s former anti-corruption officer Lakshman de Silva, who was overseeing the activities then says, he had not received any complaints on doctoring the pitches.

Speaking exclusively from Singapore, where Lakshman de Silva is holidaying till end of June, he said, “during my tenure with the SLC, I had not come across to any such attempt of pitch doctoring by the curators”.

The level of bias is crazy.

A Pakistani cricket is named, every assumes he is guilty. Even if he is not guilty, we want to act in a way to ensure we find him guilty.

England and Aussie cricketers not named, as Al Jazeera is worried about lawsuits. They fully back their players.

We are the biggest reason people can treat us like crap. We are too focused on pleasing the world.

Greatest respect to the Sri Lankan board but if that chap is the curator at Galle in the vidoe; how are the claims difficult to believe :s

Pakistan cricketer sidelined from QeA Trophy after suspicious activity

KARACHI: Hasan Raza — who is the youngest cricketer ever to play a Test match — has not been selected to represent Pakistan Television (PTV) side in the 2018-19 edition of Quaid-e-Azam trophy due to his alleged involvement in spot-fixing.

Raza landed in hot waters after a video confirmed his involvement in an alleged spot-fixing sting operation.

The right-handed batsman was caught on camera along with former Indian cricketer Robin Morris during Al Jazeera’s spot-fixing sting operation.

The duo were previously members of the same team — Mumbai Champs — in the discontinued Indian Cricket League during 2007-08.

Raza was filmed sitting next to Morris, despite taking no active part in the conversation, with the latter discussing details about how to fix T20 matches.

Later Raza, in a statement, rejected claims of his involvement in any wrongdoings.

“People are trying to trap me in this but I’ve not done anything wrong,” he said as quoted by Daily Express. “I was asked to help them in attaining the services of the players. All I did was tell those players to not get involved in anything wrong.”

Raza has featured in seven Tests and 16 ODIs for Pakistan since making his debut in both formats during October 1996. His last appearance in an international match for Pakistan came in a Test match against England at Lahore in 2005.

Which is why Sharjeel got banned from Sethi despite no evidence.

He clearly said he will take part in the league and sat with someone who was try to arrange fixing blatantly. He should be banned from taking part in anything related to PAK cricket. We have suffered enough embarrassment in the past no more.

His playing days are long over, he is probably a good 3-4 years older than his official stated age anyways. I can understand why the PCB has side lined him. No need for any more unnecessary trouble and controversies.

Why in God's name would anyone trap Hasan 'The Legend' Raza? If cricketing mediocrity had a working example I'd probably state this man as one of the few fine examples from Pakistan and that is after watching a 1.5 decade long experience of the OG Legend
