England [322/7] beat India [236] by 86 runs in the 2nd ODI to level the 3-match series 1-1

I am more interested in seeing how England will play against Kuldeep rather than who is gonna win. Lord’s will provide more assistance to Kuldeep than Trent Bridge and England might fare worse than last time.
Don't see us ascending from 7th/6th in the near future. 5-0 in England and South Africa awaits us, we will be lucky to even draw one match.
Congrats to India on winning the series. There is grass on the wicket and Wiley could have moved the bowl. I expect India to chase this within 40 overs. Englands only chance was to put india in and restrict them within 300. Have never seen Kohli so happy as he clearly said that I wish I did not come for the toss

England won the toss and will bat first.
Wanted India to bat first, now KulCha will again bowl them out under 300 and our top order will chase it.
Our middle order is not getting match practice.

There is something more important that the series at hand. They want to learn to bat against Kuldeep. And thats what they will try today.

One of the worst decisions. Early morning start is the only chance for England bowlers to strike. Umesh and Sidharth Kaul will definitely trouble as Englands focus is on Kuldeep

As I type, Pandya keeps bowling these slower deliveries.. Someone tell him this is odi, where u need to take wickets, especially with the new ball, and not to show ur different slower ball skills.

It's still acceptable for Hardik, as he's playing as an AR, moreover he's a better batsman tha bowler. But, Kaul??

He's bowled economically here, but it will do us more harm than good in the long run.

Don't worry all these Nathu Kathu Lals will become trundler too when they start playing for India.

Nagarkotti and Mavi were brilliant in the world cup but we don't have a culture of bringing in young fast bowlers into the team. Infact we hardly give chances to under 19 guys straightaway these days.

Thats a shame really. There should be some exceptions in this theory of ‘1st class cricket experience before Internationals’.

I’m sure these bowlers will become Srans and Mohit Sharma after playing on slow Indian pitches for a year or two.

I remember watching an interview of Wasim Akram many years ago and he mentioned when he played for s county, the coach would tell the batsmen to not try and understand the spinner, but just sweep. That mentality remains ingrained.

Well according to some fans our fast bowlers are better than Pakistani fast bowlers and our bench strength is good too.

In county cricket, the spinner's role historically has been to come on 10 minutes before lunch and to give the seamers a rest. Entirely defensive role.

Whilst spinners are being used in a more attacking role since the abolition of the toss, there's just no spin bowling culture here - either bowling spin or playing spin.

When young batsmen don't play quality spin at home, they are going to struggle against international standard spinners.

From upcoming youngsters. I think khaleel Ahmed is real deal. He is tall, has good pace, can swing the ball and most importantly he is a left armer. He should be picked as soon as possible.I m not sure about u-19 guys.

90% of the pitches are patta these days. We need to find better fast bowlers quickly before the World Cup to partner with Bumrah and Bhuvi. If they both get injured before the world cup we are doomed.

England bowlers were much faster than ours last game and went to the boundaries even faster.Even Starc had been manhandled twice at his own home by the same batsmen. What I think they are trying to is to not give English bstsmen any pace to work with.

Merlin is the name of the bowling machine. It can replicate any delivery in the world, apparently. I think England originally started using it as a way to prepare for Warne.

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info.

I heard some English commentators using this name - Merlin for Kuldeep.
