Definitely. That Napoli game was especially embarrassing. That is a team they would've blown away by 3-4 goals last season. It has been 4-5 games in a row now that they've looked unable to score goals.

The front three just don't have the same intensity and directness about them. Firmino is woefully out of touch. Salah is capable of scoring goals but in the same game will look like a championship level player.

Liverpool easily taking care of Cardiff. Mane and Salah back in form in seems but Shaqiri's finish was probably the best of all. Cardiff scored making it 2-1 for a while until Liverpool stretched away again. Arsenal away next will be a proper test for Liverpool's title credentials. No other big teams played today.

Arsenal dropping two points before Liverpool visit them next week. Man Utd limped to a win over Everton. The penalty was saved only for the rebound to end up in the net.

Mourinho's side looked on course for an outstanding win over his former club after two goals from Anthony Martial overturned the first-half lead given to the hosts by Antonio Rudiger's 21st-minute header.

He bowed his head in disappointment as Barkley scored in the dying seconds after a goalmouth scramble, but then reacted angrily as Chelsea technical assistant Marco Ianni celebrated in front of him before then pumping his fists in Mourinho's direction again.

The Portuguese jumped from his seat and was then held back by a mixture of stewards and Manchester United staff as he attempted to get down tunnel at Ianni.

It was a dramatic conclusion as Mourinho saw victory snatched away after he had replied to the taunts of Chelsea fans by holding up three fingers to remind them of the three Premier League titles he won while in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues looked in control when Rudiger took advantage of Paul Pogba's poor marking to head home Willian's corner, but United responded superbly after the break and Martial's double - a smart, swivelling finish and a composed, low effort - put the visitors on the brink of three points until that frantic finale.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will not be punished by the Football Association after the club successfully contested a charge that he swore in Portuguese during a win over Newcastle.

The FA used a lip reader and his remarks were interpreted as offensive during the 3-2 victory on 6 October.

But BBC Sport understands United produced a strong defence in its appeal and feel vindicated by the outcome.

The Portuguese faced a possible touchline ban if found guilty.

Great comeback by Wolves although not good enough to get an equaliser. Arsenal had the most of Liverpool dominating possession in the first half. The Mane goal was onside so should have stood. Van Dijk hit the post just before half time, Milner put us in the lead before they equalised some ten minutes before time. It feels as if we've dropped to points here when thinking City are almost guaranteed to win tomorrow. Man Utd got the winner through Rashford in extra time. Mourinho gets lucky again.

Jose Mourinho: Football Association to contest decision not to charge Man Utd boss

The Football Association will appeal against a decision not to charge Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for comments he made after a match.

The FA claimed that Mourinho swore in Portuguese to a television camera as he walked off the pitch following a 3-2 win over Newcastle on 6 October.

However, United successfully contested the original charge.

The FA's appeal comes after considering the written reasons of the Independent Regulatory Commission inquiry.

English football's governing body had expressed surprise at the decision to clear Mourinho, made by the three-person panel, after they had used a lip reader to support the case that his remarks were offensive.

A TV camera filmed the Portuguese appearing to say something, and make a gesture with his right hand, as he walked off the pitch following his side's win over the Magpies.

Mourinho is facing a touchline ban if that decision is overturned and he is found guilty of the charge.

City easily took care of Utd. Again Utd only came alive after being two behind. They are not winning the league this year that is for sure. Another under par Liverpool did enough to defeat Fulham, sooner or later playing how we are someone is gonna punish us in the league. Very surprisingly both Arsenal and Chelsea got home draws with the Gunners being lucky getting a very late equaliser. This weekend has been advantageous to Liverpool and Man City.

Former France midfielder Samir Nasri is to undergo a medical at West Ham before a proposed move to the London club.

Nasri is allowed to start training again this month after completing an 18-month doping ban.

It is understood the 31-year-old former Arsenal and Manchester City player will join the Hammers for an initial six months with the option to extend.

He will be able to play from 1 January, 2019 and would be reunited with one of his bosses at City, Manuel Pellegrini.

Nasri most recently played for Turkish club Antalyaspor, but his contract terminated on 31 January this year.

Claudio Ranieri replaces Slavisa Jokanovic as Fulham boss

Claudio Ranieri has been named Fulham's new manager, replacing Slavisa Jokanovic.

Jokanovic's dismissal comes after Fulham could only manage one win from their opening 12 Premier League matches since their promotion from the Championship, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table.

The Italian's first game in charge at Craven Cottage will be at home to fellow Premier League strugglers Southampton on November 24.

In the space of three days in early December, Ranieri will face the two clubs he has previously managed in England, Chelsea and Leicester City, where he famously won the Premier League title in 2016.

In a statement, Ranieri, said: "It is an honour to accept Mr. Khan's invitation and opportunity to lead Fulham, a fantastic club with tradition and history.

"The objective at Fulham should never be to merely survive in the Premier League. We must at all times be a difficult opponent and should expect to succeed.

"This Fulham squad has exceptional talent that is contrary to its position in the table. I know this team is very capable of better performances, which we will work on straight away as we prepare for Southampton at the Cottage."

In total, Ranieri has managed 17 different sides, including Napoli, Juventus and Inter Milan in his native Italy, as well as Valencia and Atletico Madrid in Spain, and even a short, unsuccessful spell with the Greece national team.

Until leading Leicester to an unlikely title, Ranieri had an unwanted record of never winning a league title as a manager.

The 67-year-old finished second with Chelsea, Juventus, Roma and Monaco, but silenced his critics in bringing Leicester their first league title.

Jokanovic was appointed at Fulham in 2015 and delighted fans with an attractive brand of attacking football and a return to the Premier League after four years away.

During their promotion-winning campaign last season, Fulham enjoyed a 23-game unbeaten run under the Serb's management.

Shahid Khan said: "I wasn't anticipating having to make this announcement related to Slavisa and wish the circumstances were such that I didn't have to, but our path this season has led me to make what I know is the correct decision, at the right time, for our players, the club and our supporters.

"Slavisa will always have my appreciation and respect for everything he did to return Fulham to top-flight football. I am hoping everyone in the Fulham Family shares my heartfelt sentiments for Slavisa and joins me in wishing him success and good fortune, wherever his next stop may be."

The Premier League said there is "no evidence" placing further restrictions on foreign players would improve England teams, after the Football Association called for reform.

The FA hopes to use Brexit talks to cut the amount of non-home-grown players in top-flight squads from 17 to 13.

It says it wants the reduction in 25-man squads even if there is a longer transition period or second referendum.

The proposal was met with resistance by Premier League clubs last week.

And in a statement on Wednesday, the Premier League said it was "working with clubs to operate a world-leading player development system which delivers for England teams at every level".

It added: "There is no evidence that stronger quotas than exist now would have a positive impact on national teams.

"We approach this matter in the interests of British football as a whole and have held positive discussions with the EFL and the Scottish Professional Football League, who both agree that Brexit should not be used to weaken playing squads in British football, nor to harm clubs' ability to sign international players.

"The three league bodies also recognise that the development pathway for young British players needs to be further enhanced and are committed to finding ways of achieving this across all professional clubs."

Talks are ongoing after the FA, Premier League and EFL were asked by government to come up with a joint view on post-Brexit policy.

England boss Gareth Southgate has bemoaned the lack of English players in the top flight - about 30% - despite reaching the World Cup semi-finals for the first time in 28 years.

The Premier League said its efforts were "demonstrated by the many Premier League club academy and senior players that FA coaches moulded so well into Under-17 and Under-20 World Cup winners and men's World Cup semi-finalists".

How might Brexit affect the Premier League?
When Brexit happens, EU players will no longer have free movement between clubs and be classed the same as non-EU players.

That means they would need to meet strict criteria - such as how many caps they have won and where their country are in Fifa's world rankings - in order to get a work permit.

But the FA also wants to create a fully open market so that if a player from the EU or non-EU were offered a contract by a Premier League club, they would meet the required governing body endorsement.

It is hoped that approach might help during negotiations about quotas.

The existing system has been in place since 2011 and a steady increase in non-home-grown players meant Premier League squads had 260 in total at the start of the 2018-19 season - an average of 13 per squad.

At the current rate of growth, the Premier League would reach its available capacity of 340 non-home-grown players by 2030.

Research also shows 65% of the Premier League's European players would not have qualified through the current system.

The Premier League added: "Away from playing squads, it is important to recognise the global interest in the Premier League and in our clubs when they compete in the FA and Carabao Cup competitions.

"Our competition is watched in 189 countries, 700,000 visitors to the UK per season attend a match, clubs employ 12,000 full-time staff and Premier League football generates 3.3bn per season in taxes.

"We have a positive working relationship with the FA and will continue to have constructive discussions with them, and other stakeholders."

Liverpool and City continuing to lead the title race with easy wins on their travels. Always great to see Chelsea losing even if it's against one of our rivals who are breathing down our neck. Man Utd's misery continues drawing home to Crystal Palace. In all honesty Palace having missed a few sitters should have won it. Man Utd looking like a mid table team at best this season. Jose Mourinho must stay, give him a new contract!

Extra time winner for Liverpool in a match that could have ended 3-3 or something. Both keepers were in top form making vital saves until a last minute mistake by Pickford. There was no need for him to save that or perhaps the ball would have rebounded of the bar no matter what. Origi's name will now go down in Anfield folklore even if he were to leave in the coming months as seems likely. We're still on City's tail.

What an incredible end to the Merseyside derby.

What on earth was Pickford doing? Why didn't he just tip the ball over the bar.

A moment of madness or to be kind a lapse of concentration. He may have thought the ball might not go over and being not the tallest keeper made a fatal error in judgement. Good play by Origi who gambled running towards the goal.

A very important win for Liverpool to stay in sight of City. If we can remain unbeaten until the new year we are in the title race.

Mark Hughes has been sacked as Southampton manager after eight months in charge.

The Saints, who drew with Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday, are 18th in the table.

Southampton confirmed the move in a statement, adding: "The search for a new manager to take the club forward is already under way."

First-team assistant coach Kelvin Davis will take charge of the team for the game against Tottenham on Wednesday.

Hughes, who also had a spell at the south coast club during his playing career, joined Southampton in March, two months after being sacked by Stoke City.

The club were one point above the relegation zone at the time and the 55-year-old led them to safety last season by securing two wins from their last four games.

However, they have struggled again this season and, across his spell, have won just three of their 22 league games.

Before the draw against Manchester United, Southampton were beaten 3-2 by relegation rivals Fulham and knocked out of the EFL Cup on penalties by Leicester.

Along with Hughes, assistant first-team manager Mark Bowen and coach Eddie Niedzwiecki have also left the club.

Did Twitter predict Mark Hughes' exit? It's tweets of the week
    Analysis
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport chief football writer

Southampton's hierarchy were never going to make the same mistake as last season when they almost left it too late to sack Mauricio Pellegrino as they dropped towards relegation.

It meant added pressure on Mark Hughes, who presided over their survival, and his dismal win record of three wins from 22 league games made this decision inevitable.

Hughes has told regular hard luck stories this season but eventually the script becomes tired when performances, even though they were decent enough on occasions, simply do not get results.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but Southampton may now reflect on their decision to give Hughes a three-year contract in the afterglow of retaining their Premier League status rather than thanking him for his efforts and returning to the drawing board.

Saints' vice-chairman Les Reed and technical director Martin Hunter have already gone and the sweep has continued with Hughes' sacking. These are changing times at St Mary's.

As for Hughes, it is hard to see where he will go next after successive sackings at Stoke and Southampton in so short a time.

He now joins other old managerial heads like Sam Allardyce, David Moyes and Alan Pardew on the margins.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been charged by the Football Association after a melee following Eric Dier's equaliser at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Dier put his finger to his mouth after drawing Spurs level in a north London derby Arsenal went on to win 4-2.

The England international was booked after celebrating Spurs players clashed with the home side's substitutes.

Both clubs are charged with failing to "ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion".

They have until 18:00 GMT on Thursday to respond.

Dier's equaliser came after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had put the Gunners ahead from the penalty spot.

Harry Kane gave Spurs a 2-1 lead with a penalty of his own but second-half goals from Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira secured victory for the hosts.
