And you conveniently left out the win against England Lol dude if you're an Indian fan then I have no beef with that fact you can support any team you like, but performing in against England (even if its a 1 game affair) shouldn't rubbished aside just because it was a 2 match series.

Right now those players that you are so vehemently defending can't even do that to save their lives.

You surely missed the England series dude.

Faheem has got a hatrick against Srl, 5fer against Zim, two good partnerships in tests vs England and Ireland

Shadab has already scored 50s in NZ and Eng, was also part of cruicial partnerships vs Eng and Ireland’s recent test, did hit a six to win the match and currently ranked no 2 in T20s bowlers ranking.

Lol! Ok I take it back.

Its good that prediction was based upon cricket.

SA is rebuilding, players are a but down due to some events in the last couple of years. But, i am sure they will bounce back as there is some exciting talent there for cricket lovers

    I got it!

This is BCCI master plan to ensure England don't make much money from this series. Ensure that no more than 3 days of cricket occurs in each test and reduce English profits.

What sort of logic is this? Remove any side's top three players and they will be borderline minnow. Heck just remove Kohli from India and they would struggle to rank more than 6 or 7.

England are massively handicapped by their batting line-up. Cook and Jennings are walking wickets, Pope is merely starting out, Stokes is likely to be sent down by the lawman, Buttler is not good enough to play test cricket as a specialist batsman, Rashid/Ali are mediocre spinners, and Broad is too inconsistent to lead their attack if Anderson fails. They are a very average team, but India have outdone themselves fortunately.

When the ball swings in England, the Indians collapse.

Been the story since 2007 tour.

Even if India didn't play two spinners (a terrible selection decision), it's not like they would've had much runs to play with.

It's only going to get harder at Trent Bridge.

He's been nothing more than a yes man and cheerleader to kohli as a coach.
Kohli is not the best captain tactically he needs guidance from someone tactically astute and not a 'yes' man.

I actually can form an opinion on Shadab and faheem. In an ideal world they should play in every test match for Pakistan. What will likely happen is that we will play shahdab at home as support for yasir and say in places like South Africa we will play fahim as the all rounder ( remember, the only reason why both played in England was because yasir was not there - which I think was a blessing in disguise for the fake we won at lord’s)
Having said that, whether Pandya should play for India in tests or how he compares vs these two- these are separate points

That initial press conference seems so embarrassing by Shastri. We are here to win games and if we lose a few while trying to win, we don’t care.

The result cearly indicates that Pakistan should have gotten more matches rather than have India play a 5 match series. It’s insulting to the sport to watch a team which is ranked #1 crumble so easily.

If that's the case there's only going to be one winner in that battle.

Shastri reminds me of Mohsin Khan who was an inconsequential coach with little eye for talent or tactical nous yet took credit for team's success at every turn.

Lol unfair to blame Shastri. Everyone knew what he bought to the table. Shastri didn't select himself and appoint himself as coach, it is Kohli who had Anil Kumble kicked out and lobbied for Shastri, if anything Kohli should be held responsible.

And lol at People feeling sorry for Kohli, he himself set very high standards with his insane consistency on flat IPL style pitches. If you are indeed the best batsman in the world then you should be able to play on every pitch and batting conditions. He is the captain and making all the selection and tactical decisions in the team.

His struggles in England where he does not have the luxury of playing his shots at will is showing the difference between him and Tendulkar, Dravid

Why feel for him? Other than his batting everything he has done is worse. We should have won last test easily and this test could have been much better had he done team selections right. His field placing are pathetic too.

Broad hails 'powerful' England display Eng v Ind, 2nd Test, rea

Stuart Broad said the demolition of India at Lord's was one of England's best team performances during his 11 years as a Test cricketer.

Broad and his partner in crime James Anderson took fours wickets apiece to brush aside India for 130 in their second innings and complete a comprehensive victory by an innings and 159 runs with a day to spare.

It leaves England 2-0 up in the series with three to play.

Broad, 32, was in exceptional form, making the most of useful bowling conditions which aided swing and seam to run through India's middle order.

"I think it's a powerful performance," said Broad after the match. "Right up there. The emotions at Edgbaston [where England won the first Test by 31 runs] took a lot out of us. It was good to come to Lord's and have the same kind of energy.

"We were fortunate with how the clouds came to work for us. We talked about patience. We didn't give India too many freebies. We're really enjoying being out there. We each bowl it a bit differently, and that helps."

Broad admitted he was disappointed not to make the most of a hat-trick opportunity after dismissing Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik with consecutive deliveries – "It was so bad!" – but said England's pace attack will feel the benefit of finishing the match in quick time. India only faced 82.2 overs across both innings.

"We talked a lot about the bowlers maybe having to rotate [in this series], but we've not had an innings where someone's got a lot of runs. Now we have a few calm days before the next one."

Joe Root reserved special praise for Player of the Match, Chris Woakes, who produced a superb all-round performance which included a maiden Test century and four wickets on his return after injury.

"The bowling unit were exceptional throughout," said England's captain. "We had the conditions in our favour, but we had to put it in the right places. Jonny [Bairstow] and Woakesy were magnificent. I'm really pleased for Woakesy. A number of times he's showed how talented he is. He's been working hard and is someone who's always been a big part of the side."

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who was troubled by a persistent back problem during the match, said India got what they deserved and refused to blame the conditions.

"I'm not proud of the way we've played," said the Indian captain. "It's the first time in the last five Tests that we've been outplayed. We deserved to lose this game, the way we went about things. You can't really think about conditions when you're playing the game. Sometimes the rub of the green won't go your way.

"Even when the ball's doing a bit, you have to pitch it in the right areas. Their guys were relentless, they made us work for the runs."

The series now moves to Trent Bridge, with the third Test starting on 18 August.

I believe that a lot has to do with Virat's captaincy. It's not like team india is playing with their B rank team. This is their A team. Virat doesn't know how to motivate his boys, nor is he a good tactician. Dhoni would have probably done better with this same team. Virat And Sastri will ruine team india together if this shinanigan coutinues for longer.

Lol at people blaming Shastri. Who brought Shashtri in the team in the first place? Secondly at those exonerating Kohli "He needs a better tactician to support him". Will Kohli respect this better tactician or treat him the same way as Anil Kumble?

Do you forgot 8-0 under Dhoni with batting lineup of Tendulkar, Dravid and VVX in Aus and Eng, 2/3 of those matches were innings defeats

Reality is you guys are not as good as your media projects your team, you can buy lot of cricket establishment, media, perception, ranking with 80% Cricket viewing market but well matches are still played on ground, you still have to perform to win 🤐🤐🤐

India become no 1 by playing 16/18 consecutive tests in India that too with mostly western teams who cannot play spin. You have not played with us in those conditions either in 15 years to test your skills at home...

In test cricket ranking means nothing, you have to win abroad to gain respect, which most teams are failing to do so, there is no team in the world which anybody fears or respect the way people use to respect great teams!!

Dravid was pretty good in that series(461 runs), Dravid had one bad series in Aus and he retired. The truth is Dravid and Sachin were both over the hill at that time inspite of that Dravid played well.

Winning abroad to gain respect never seemed to be English thing, they get respected just fine for winning an Ashes at home,(2005), its only a Desi mentality to want to win away from Asia, mind you not away from home alone, but away from Asia, because India blanked Lanka 3-0 in their home recently.

Ashes 2005 is rated highly because at that time, Australia had the greatest team of all-time and pretty much won everywhere and against everyone. India's home series win in 2001 against Australia gets appreciation for the same reason.

Winning "Away from home" is very important and which is why outside that Ashes 2005, England's other greatest wins were India 2012, Australia 2010 and South Africa 2004 IMO, all away from home.

India's away wins would get appreciation if they beat a strong team away from home. Sri Lanka are not minnows but they are definitely not a strong team or a team you should be proud of beating and India dont play Pakistan. So, if you are no.1 ranked team, you gotta win something big.

India of 2001-2010 gets my respect, not this team though.

yaar abhi to bcci ko organise kardena chaiye ek 3 test match series. Younis aur misbah retire hogaye hain, spinning wickets banao, pakistan ka muu band kardo!

in naye larkon mein koi nahi khelne waala extreme spin, woh younis aur misbah thay, ab to woh bhi chale gaye.
