Yeah, BD is not winning this.
It’s sad to see how they have gone from beating Pakistan, India, and South Africa in one year to losing to Afghanistan.

Bdesh team needs to be really worried. The consistency with which Afghanis have started defeating them leaves no doubt in neutral cricket fans' minds that Afghan is a much better team than Bdesh.

This is the problem with Bdesh fans. They play 25 matches against big teams, win 1 or 2 and start thinking that they have now become big boys. 1 or 2 victories per year against Pakistan//India/SA doesn't mean that an year back they were beating these teams, it only means Bdesh got lucky a couple of times.

Now I'm scared of what Afghan spinners will do against our duds... if Fakhar or Malik aren't able to tame them then we were looking at 150 all out.

Feeling proud of the boys
At least, AFGs beat Lankans, other wise, you know. I am not actually that upset with the batting, because teams batting 2nd here has put like 124, 154 and today ..... but 95/0 in 10 overs, with 7 down!!!!
Come on man, you should have asked my feelings that time, instead of now.

Different ground bro and different game - you can't equate things like this. HK lost to PAK in 25 overs, very next game made IND nervous till end and very next day IND won inside 28 overs against PAK.
Don't think adding few players would have mattered today - given the schedule and we'll have to play next game 15 hours later at another venue, I would have played entire 2nd 11 if 22 players were available. Did you notice - a loss could have sent them to 2nd spot in Group, still France made 7 changes including Captain Lloris for the Denmark game?
PS: No one will come back trolling here regarding Bangladesh & France - that'll be childish.

Not much - that'll be knee jerk reaction. I have my own explanation for those 4 games, particularly for today's game. As long as some of our boys are not called at ACU office later
, I guess this is the best game for such hiding.
It'll be indeed a disaster if Afghan's win against us chasing on Sunday.

I think BD needs to be winning consistently before they can think of "resting" first choice players. For a team that loses more than it wins, they need to ensure all of their first choice players get as much game time as possible.

Kuldeep bowled quicker in the Pak match. I remember he bowled a couple of balls at 100ks even.
But not everyone has the same style of bowling. Kuldeep's style and action, all of it is geared towards drift and dip. Rashid is a different kind of spinner altogether. Fast and flat.Last edited by the_outsider; 21st September 2018 at 01:34.

An incredible night for Afghanistan cricket. They continue to keep making their mark on international cricket having little infrastructure or domestic system only a few years ago. Their spinners are terrific in these conditions and Pakistan will not have it all their way against them.

BANGLADESH CAPTAIN, MASHRAFE MORTAZA
“After 40 overs we didn’t play at our best. Obviously tomorrow is a very important game for us, and there are areas we have to work on after today, we have to make sure we don’t repeat the mistakes we made today going ahead.”
AFGHANISTAN PLAYER OF THE MATCH, RASHID KHAN
“We don’t think any team is easy to beat, we just have to focus on doing the right things in the field against any team. We just need to improve ourselves. We just show the talent that we have, Bangladesh is a good side and they have beaten big teams. We just focus on ourselves and our ability and keep trying to improve ourselves.”

Afghanistan are improving at a rapid rate. Pak must not take them for granted at all. They are a dangerous side for sure who can evolve in to a top team in a few years. We have taught them well in Peshawar!
