Look at the puff of dust. Spinners are bowling at pace and it's still sticking and turning. All the pacers have gone for runs yet Marsh bowling in the 128-134 bracket gave 5 off his over. Keep the pace off the ball is the key here.

This is not a boundary scoring wicket.

With wickets in hand they can go with it.
They can’t when there is 20 overs to go and no wickets in hand...

    That’s why Babar played well...

What you on about. The first 13 overs it was flat as a road. As per usual as soon as a quality side finds their line and lengths the batsman struggle.

These same guys were smashing big 180+ totals in the Zimbabwe tri-series on flatter, truer pitches.

These UAE grounds however encourage attritional cricket because of the longer boundaries and slowness of the surface meaning it's harder to time your shots and go big, especially when opposition takes pace off the ball.

Pakistan's batting has been poor in both matches as if Fakhar doesn't get a quick and good score early they tend to fall short of a good total.

Happened in the first game and now again tonight. The rest are more run a ball players and not naturally big hitters of the ball which is why they struggle.

They change the game alright, the team with them is already batting with a wicket lost 9/10 times, however that 1 time is all that people focus on.

Pathetic innings from both hafeez and babar.

Expect miracles from the lower order to bail out the team, but that won't happen everytime.

Pak will win even with a score of 120 against Aus, but a competent side against spin will easily be able to chase down 140 or so.

I see so that’s why we’re number 1 and have beaten every top side in the world in the last couple of years barring India who refuse to play us?

If we lose this game it’s because the players have the fans mentality...
We’re losing wickets trying to find the boundary which is costing us 10-15 runs in singles and doubles...

He's a big hitter, Pakistan doesn't really have many to choose from. In T20's you do need someone who can clear the boundary in these games, if only to match other teams who have them.

    Did they?

This is not a wicket where you can go big in the last few overs. You need to rotate strike and hit the gaps which Babar and (especially) Hafeez were not doing at that point.

Malik of all people managed 14 off 12 here and he has faced fast bowlers for the most part. His SR against spin is below 100 I think. That should tell you how hard it is to hit on this pitch with no pace on the ball.

Babar in the end played a few dot balls too many in his effort to play the big shot. 45 off 39-40 balls would have been very good here.

Babar in the end played a few dot balls too many in his effort to play the big shot. 45 off 39-40 balls would have been very good here.
Whatís malik a average against pace and in non spin freindly pitches? Malik Is poor against pace and should not be used as a bench mark.

    Against spin heís good.

    Pitch is pathetically slow.

They really need to up these pitches for the PSL.

They smashed NZ as well. This pitch is slow.

We aren't great in ODIs at the moment but we have been outstanding in T20Is for a couple of years

    148 it is to win.

Pakistan's bowling will be tested again tonight but Aussies won't be reckless like the first game.

Id love to see detailed analysis of Afridi when others struggled on slow pitches/long ropes. But his power was undisputed, my point being not many players have the power to hit in such conditions..out of the stadium.

I really hope people don't start hyping up Faheem's batting on the basis of the 9 balls he faced here, just like they shouldn't bash the lad when he gets out for a duck going hard at the ball at the back end of the innings. Arm-chair analysts here really need to learn the game.

So they end up on 147, which is not a bad total for this pitch.

Need to get some quick wickets.

Faheem and Imad . Hafeez if leftie on strike at start of an over.
Middle overs will be harder to face the spin/ slower balls.
Initially will be easier relatively speaking
