NZ should be able to compete decentley at the WC. Guptill and Munro are an explosive duo. Williamson,Latham ,and Taylor are able to adjust their game to the situation. De Grandhomme adds power at the end. Santner should be back for the WC, him and Sohdi will cause problems. Boult And Henry with the new ball will be a threat. Fergurson and Milne offer a different opition.

    All round a decent team.

With Imad out injured, this was great chance to try open with Babar and Haris at 3. Shame they had to go with Hafeez who definitely wonít be opening in the World Cup after edging all these out swingers as usual.

People love whining for no reason.

    Serier Decider.

Babar Azam has never opened in his career and has a great record at the #3 position.

Mohammad Hafeez has done it for over half his career.

    He's opened twice.

Incidentally in both instances, Hafeez came at one down.

But he will so no point debating he has scored consistently and will only get better playing against quality bowling teams. He is you and inexperienced so too early to judge him. We need at least one solid batsman in the team. ( replying to Makhor press the wrong key)

PAK must have to sort batting against short balls - on these wickets it's troubling them. In Test, it can be understandable as multiple short staffs can be bowled & there no one bothers for odd boundaries; but in ODI, dots will cost more.

Pakistan should rope in Irfan as a net bowler. Ideal practice for short-pitched bowling.

Looks like they are very short on practice against short-pitched bowling. The domestic pitches do not have bounce and the bowlers in the team are short.

I am still not sure what Flower is doing with these batsmen.

I see you have retracted your statement about South Africa tour being a complete whitewash.

Astle as well - their wicket suits such pacers. This had been always the case, in 70-80s there was Coney (Howarth as well).

I meant it for the Test series. Winning an ODI in South Africa is achievable, their batting is prone to collapses.

India won 5 in 6. We should be able to win 1, considering they are three levels above us.

Itís remarkable how much pace Ferguson generates from such a short run up. Probably has the quickest arm speed in the game. Perhaps as quick as Wasimís, without the magic in the wrist of course.

You cant blame him. He is 37 and facing 150 kph is never easy let alone when your reflexes are not that sharp anymore.

I am no Hafeez fan but why make up things to make him look bad especially he has been performing really well lately batting and bowling.

Don't assume we will win this one, only 12 overs have been played, especially since you think we are one of the worst teams.

We did beat SA in 2013 1-2 in ODIs, when our team was at a low and SA was at its peak.

Hafeez is underrated against pace. He struggles terribly against movement, but he has dispatched genuine pace on quite a few occasions.
