Fernando Llorente scored a hat-trick as Tottenham scored seven goals against League Two Tranmere Rovers to cruise into the FA Cup fourth round.

Llorente, making just his second start of the season, scored three in 24 minutes for the Premier League side.

First he turned in Son Heung-min's cut-back in the 48th minute for Spurs' second and then slid a finish under Tranmere goalkeeper Scott Davies from Oliver Skipp's pass.

Just a minute later the Spaniard completed his hat-trick by poking in Lucas Moura's cross before being replaced by England captain Harry Kane.

Spurs had been kept out for 40 minutes until Serge Aurier hit a 25-yard shot that deflected off Emmanuel Monthe before swerving into the top corner.

Llorente's first goal was the first of three in nine minutes for Spurs at the start of the second half with Aurier slotting in his second and Son scoring a fine individual goal with a solo run from deep.

Kane added the seventh in the 82nd minute with a calm chip over Davies from inside the penalty area.

Tranmere, aiming to reach the fourth round for the first time since 2003-04, rarely troubled their Premier League opponents.

Their best chance came shortly after Llorente had given Spurs a two-goal lead but Harvey Gilmour's shot was blocked over after a long throw.

    What's next?

Tottenham's next match is their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea on Tuesday at 20:00 GMT. Tranmere travel to Cheltenham Town in their next game on Saturday, 12 January (15:00).

Jealousy is a terrible thing. One hates another team so much when they don't have what the other does. It's not as if Wolves are gonna win the FA Cup. We played our third side coz Klopp has bigger fish to fry.

Worst fans most definitely. It's a shame how lpool fans are shrugging off this embarrassment with oh we didn't play our full team etc nonsense Klopp obviously thought the rotation of players would still bring him the win. Now wait till they start slipping in the league as well

Arsenal will host Man Utd in the fourth round of the FA Cup as the two most successful sides in the history of the competition meet at the Emirates Stadium.

Both teams beat lower-league opposition to reach round four, with Unai Emery's Gunners winning 3-0 at Blackpool and United seeing off Reading 2-0 at home.

Arsenal - who have won the FA Cup a record 13 times - will play host to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's rejuvenated Red Devils as the Premier League rivals meet in the competition for the first time since 2015.

Arsene Wenger's Arsenal came out on top in that sixth-round meeting at Old Trafford, but the man who lifted the FA Cup an unmatched seven times will not be in the dugout this time around, with Emery achieving a 2-2 draw away to Jose Mourinho's United before Christmas.

Elsewhere, holders Chelsea - who beat 12-time winners United in last season's final - will host Sheffield Wednesday after the Championship side beat Luton in their third round replay on Tuesday.

There are two other all-Premier League ties as champions Man City welcome struggling Burnley to the Etihad Stadium and Crystal Palace host Tottenham in a London derby at Selhurst Park.

Barnet, the only non-league side left heading into the fourth round, were drawn at home to Sky Bet Championship side Brentford.

League Two pair Newport and Oldham failed to land plumb ties after seeing off Premier League sides Leicester and Fulham, respectively, in the previous round.

Newport's prize for beating the Foxes is a trip to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough, while Oldham travel to Doncaster.

Wolves won the final match of the third round as they beat a much-changed Liverpool side 2-1 and they will now travel to either Shrewsbury or Stoke.

Marco Silva's Everton will take on 2004 finalists Millwall at the New Den, with AFC Wimbledon manager Wally Downes hosting West Ham, the Premier League side where he previously worked as a coach under Sam Allardyce.

Watford meanwhile take on fellow Premier League side Newcastle after they beat Blackburn in their third round replay..

Brighton won comfortably at Bournemouth in round three and will welcome West Brom to the Amex Stadium, with the winners of a replay between Derby or Southampton travelling to face Accrington.

Meanwhile, Swansea play host to Gillingham, Bristol City take on Bolton and QPR travel to League One leaders Portsmouth.

Sanchez and Lingard for United. Aubameyang for Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez made a goalscoring return to Arsenal to set Manchester United on their way to a fourth-round FA Cup win which makes it eight straight wins for interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sanchez has struggled to produce his best form since swapping Emirates Stadium for Old Trafford a year ago but was at his sharpest to take Romelu Lukaku's superb reverse pass in his stride and round Petr Cech to give United a 31st-minute lead.

Lukaku was the creator again two minutes later as Jesse Lingard's precise finish doubled United's advantage - and even though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back before the interval, Solskjaer's side were always in control.

United keeper Sergio Romero's superb save from Aaron Ramsey at the start of the second half was crucial in keeping Arsenal at bay and United were rarely troubled afterwards.

Arsenal's cause was not helped by injuries to key defenders Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Laurent Koscielny; substitute Anthony Martial wrapping up United's latest success when he pounced after Petr Cech could only palm out Paul Pogba's shot with eight minutes of normal time left.

Sanchez moved from Arsenal to Manchester United with great fanfare, but the 30-year-old's time at Old Trafford has largely been a miserable tale of injuries and lack of form.

The Chilean made his return to the stadium where he was once idolised having scored only four goals from 32 appearances, but here he gave Arsenal's fans a painful reminder of his quality.

He was sharp and mobile - playing on the left of United's attacking trio with Lingard in the centre and Lukaku posted to a profitable role on the right - and deserved his well-taken goal.

Sanchez ignored the inevitable jeers to take his chance with calm and contribute to United's attacking threat with real thrust and energy.

With the in-form Martial and Marcus Rashford starting on the bench, Solskjaer will hope this is a sign of things to come from Sanchez as his United renaissance continues.

This weekend, some Millwall supporters could be heard using a racist term that is derogatory to the Pakistani community during Saturday's 3-2 FA Cup win over Everton at The Den. The FA and the Metropolitan Police are investigating.

I was so gutted watching the draw when it was United drawn to play Chelsea away. Why couldn't we have got an easier team? One thing for certain though is that there will be no more than 2 of the 'big 6' in the next round, as one of Chelsea/United will go out for sure. We could see a smaller team win the FA cup this season. Excited to see the televised fixtures, obviously Chelsea United will definitely be telecasted, I reckon it will be the Monday as Chelsea have a Europa league game on the Thursday.

Fast start by both teams. Chelsea look very good today, can they keep up this pace to win?

Man City will easily win the cup.

I think City will end the season with both domestic cups, hopefully they will be happy with this silveware

Great win for United yesterday. Good bounce back. I wanted to avoid city away in the draw, thankfully we did, not too happy about Wolves away though. Wolves are not going down so they have not got much to play for in the League, they can go all out in the FA Cup. I think Wolves away is without doubt going to be a big test, they've been excellent against the big teams this season too, so this definitely won't be easy

The quarter-final games will be played from 15-18 March, with winning clubs receiving 720,000 in prize money.

United saw off Chelsea with a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Man Utd easily dispatched by a much hungrier Wolves side. It was a rather easy win for the home side who dominated the match from start to finish. Man Utd's season is looking rather bleak now after Ole's good start winning a good many matches. Struggling to finish in the top four then also Barcelona in the next round of the Champions League puts great pressure on them. Wolves at home are a tough nut to crack.

Quadruple-chasing Manchester City face Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup after the draw was made on Sunday afternoon.

Both clubs had to come from 2-0 down in their quarter final ties, City edging Swansea 3-2 while Brighton squeezed past Millwall on penalties.

The second semi-final will be between 1984 Finalists Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who defeated Manchester United to seal their place in the last four for the first time in 21 years.

The draw was conducted by Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink and Leon Osman, who have both played in FA Cup Finals, in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

Semi-final ties will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 6 April and Sunday 7 April.

Winning clubs will receive 1.8m from The FA prize fund while the losers will pick up 900,000.

The Emirates FA Cup Final is scheduled for Saturday 18 May.

    Semi-Final draw:

    1 Watford v Wolverhampton Wanderers
2 Manchester City v Brighton & Hove Albion

Manchester City stayed on course for the quadruple as they reached the FA Cup final after edging out Brighton at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola's side were nowhere near their best but a largely undistinguished contest was settled by Gabriel Jesus' stooping header after only four minutes, converted from Kevin de Bruyne's perfect right-wing cross.

Brighton battled manfully but could not turn possession into prolonged threat, although City were grateful to Aymeric Laporte's clearance from right under his own crossbar after the break with Glenn Murray poised to score.

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker was fortunate to escape a first-half red card after a VAR review for thrusting his head into the face of Alireza Jahanbakhsh after the pair clashed - and ultimately they were happy to simply close out the win.

They will now face either Watford or Wolves in the final at Wembley on 18 May and also remain in the hunt for the Premier League and Champions League after winning the Carabao Cup.
