Our fans deserve this humiliation. They are only good at running their mouths against much better teams and much better players that they cannot dream of producing.

At times, I run out of ways in which to describe how pathetic we truly our and how Pakistan cricket is done and dusted. I often feel that I am wrong about them - they are probably a lot worse than what I actually think.

We are truly border line minnows in the test format now, this series has shown how the slightest hint of pressure we collapse like a bunch of scared kittens. A whitewash awaits us in SA and then hopefully we can remove the specialist captain and a few others.

We are a third class team all around. In 20 years, we will be ranked among the minnows - we are a failing country and it is mirrored in our cricket.

All this drama of being the best T20 side will also blow up into pieces soon.

Pakistan could have lost test series to Australia as well since they were 54/5 at one stage.
It suggests that either players are not good enough
Or they arent playing for sarfaraz.

But decline of Test team started under misbah after losing sharjah Test against West indies then 3-0 and 2-0 in Aus/Nzl follower by v narrow win in West indies. Shannon Gabriel handed it to Pakistan.

The Win at Lords was followed by a disaster in headingley Test. That should have been an eye opener that Team is not consistent and many players from
Body language arent interested in Test Cricket.

Utter humiliation has happened so many now in the past 2 years in ODIs and Tests. And PCB and people behind domestic cricket continues to neglect the issues.

There is no grass root cricket. (I can confirm in my city) I felt so sad that when I used to play Cricket in my early teens. There were few talented guys among the teams I played. But in the club circuit there is so much nepotism and corruption that it would be miracle if any deserving cricketer made it to the next level.

You are correct. We also severely under-appreciated YK. Imo, his mental strength and ability to make huge scores even when he was in poor form puts this entire batting lineup to shame. EVen Azhar, who is our only good batsman is poor at making big scores and capitalizing on starts.

Apart from the last inning(and it was batting that mess up the most too) pak bowlers have done very well,i don't understand why peoples are stil blaming the bowlers when it's always the batsmens at fault.
If anything you can blame the managment for not playing two spinners here ,that's it.

There is no quick fix. Pakistan cricket requires a major surgery which is not possible because the constraints that PCB faces because of the status of the country itself. We simply have to accept the reality and not raise our hopes when we are playing top flight opposition, because it is a fact that more often than not, they will pound us.

The gap between us and India, Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand is only going to widen, and we will get less and less games against them in the future.

India does not play us anymore, Australia no longer consider us a flagship team for their home summer and are starting to cut down the Tests from 3 to 2, and once England start inevitably beating us again, they will also start playing two matches against us and so forth.

In a few years, we will be left to fend against other failing cricket countries like Sri Lanka, the Caribbean islands and Zimbabwe.

Yet another match losing big innings by Azhar. When your main batsman is incapable of batting at a strike rate of above 50 and does not have the confidence to maintain a run rate of above 1 against the second new ball, you can expect such implosions.

The UAE dominance of Pakistan is actually a big myth. The only 2 teams against whom PAK have been dominant are England and Australia. I don't think even Australia would have had this bad a record had they been unlucky enough to lose all 4 tosses on 2 separate tours.

A poor strike rate in all the innings of the series so far and cowardice in general is coming back to bite pakistan quite Badly here. Irony is people lauded sarfaraz and his captaincy at the time because they felt the general cowardice and tuktuk cricket started in Misbahs reign of which azhar and shafiq themselves are products but the 'lafanga' type personality which sarfaraz showed then fooled everyone. It will be funny if he scores a meaningless 50 or so in this dig enabling him to hold onto his captaincy for a lot longer because at least he showed some application. Lol.

I am usually the person bashing Pakistan on days like these, but the same batting line up scored 348 in the first innings. Its not like we just got bad all of a sudden. Its the pressure. Saffy is having a hard time captaining in all formats. His own batting has been reduced to tail ender stuff. He needs to be removed as Test captain. Happy to learn that Hafeez has retired himself from tests so one less useless player to carry around. Need some reshuffling and better team selection and strategy and we should be back to becoming average at least. No need for wrist slashing at this time.

LOL. We also use this word in Bengali

Yes there is a possibility that Sarfraz will score a meaningless 40 or 50 here,as like Asad scored a meaningless hundreds to retain his spot what he always does. Misbah has done a lot of good to Pak cricket but he did one bad thing in Pak batting. He has made all Pak batsmen's coward .

Best way forward here is to attack, so NZ go on the defensive and start pulling fielders back.

We shouldn't be surprised by this batting performance, it is the most spineless team in world cricket.

Agreed. I have always pointed this out to severe backlash. We were only able to draw vs SA, NZ (in 2014) and have even dropped home tests to teams like WI. Very overrated "fortress".

True home domination is the kind Aus and Ind have displayed in the last 3-4 years.

Which is what should have happened from the beginning. What they wanted to achieve by poking around on a day 5 wicket, is beyond me. Its clear the team management was scared of losing this match, and sent their batsmen out without any sort of plan whatsoever.

I donot mind him having a slow strike rate. Howver, if you bat slow, you had better score huge double hundreds. In UAE conditions, this kind of batting of batting slow and getting 60-70 is completely useless.

After spot fixing back in 2009 we decided to go with soft, obedient, yes men and now we're seeing the results.

70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s teams were never as spineless as those who played under Misbah and Sarfraz.

Best he gets out rather than a career saving 50. Needs to be shown the door. He has been living off the CT for long enough now.

Delusion if anyone thinks Sarfraz place is at risk. On the other hand if you talking about captaincy then again he will not be removed from that till after SA series.

If they bat 50 overs, we will win the match. Looks like they won't survive even 10. Babar is gone. Sarfaraz won't last long.

I hope Babar can make a defining century which announces the entry of a bonafide legend into international cricket. It will also nicely set up his battles with Steyn, Philander, and Rabada for the next series. Only he is capable of drawing the game for Pakistan. Azhar was the other one. The less said about others, better it is
