Interesting - we are playing 3 pacers & 2 spinners, but the bowling was started by both spinners and they bowled intire Power Play. Should have played one more spinner here dropping Rubel; but Mash’s inclusion actually imbalances the side - shouldn’t make as 2nd pacer of 2 pacer combination; but he has to lead till WK. Best alternative is probably using Soumya for few overs & play 3rd spinner.

Mash's bowling will be cannon fodder at the world cup on those flat pitches.

It's nowhere close to a 300+ pitch. Some balls are keeping low already and a couple bounced extra .

It's a good batting pitch. Windows didn't even make any attempt to hit spinners up and over, they highly cautious first 10. Lack of intent. But bowling has been highly disciplined, brilliant and not given windows any width. But again windows did not attack spinners early on, set them back.though spinners bowled well didn't put them off their lines.

63 balls since last boundary. More than 10 overs in ODI without boundary.

Gone!!! Mashrafe gets S Hope. Take that Mash hater, there's many here. Mash is our legend and we love him, funny how non Bdeshis some think they know what's best for BD team than BD fans and think tanks. Well done Big Mash!

BANGLADESH bowling superb. Windies lack of intent lack of aggressive batting early on hurting them .. Got to show intent. Heytmar trying to play big shots, playing aggressively missing and getting lucky many times.

It took 1 ball - Hetmyer needs psychological treatment; this way, he is not going last long even in T20. He has played Miraz enough to know that, round the wicket some balls are going to drift in to him.

One thing for sure - in 15 years, Mash has learned lot, lot in terms of wicket taking tactics. He is using change of pace here on a sluggish track to unsettle WIN batsmen. Brought Miraz as well against Hetmyer and got him out immediately.

No one hates him, but he is on his last life. Another 7 months in to it, he'll struggle in UK. But, he is needed to lead the side, hence the discussion is about what combination can be used to accommodate him.

So Mashrafe will play his 200th ODI match for BANGLADESH , and out of all the grounds/venue, despite most games being held in Dhaka, his 200th for BD will not be in Dhaka or Chittagong. It will be in Sylhet so proud moment that will be for Mash, BD and especially Sylhet people witnessing a legend of BANGLADESH playing his 200th ODI for BD at Sylhet stadium.

Bowlers bowled well, Mash, Fizz bowled well. Good team effort Rubel is hit or miss, did well until death overs.

Windies, approach, application was bad especially first ten ov. It's not a ultra road like in some places but it's not unplayable wicket, there were some uneven bounce but it's a wicket to bat normal sensibly not going gung-ho t20 style.

    BANGLADESH should be fine.

Excited about this team. Batting looks powerful. I like the inclusion of all top 4. Sarkar hitting them well again, Kayes brilliant last series, Liton is dangerous , TAMIM is class. There's firepower, big hitting power all over this team. Add to that there's Arfiul, Saifuddin two good hitters waiting in the wings, then there's MD Mithun who's done well in ODI's.

The only danger i can see is if Oshane gets the ball to really skid on to the batsmen in which case it will be difficult to bat.

Losing early wicket is becoming a fashion for us - WIN, ZIM or ENG, SAF ... hardly matters. Today Miraz is batting at 8, so the depth is well covered, at least hope so and the target is below 200, but Tamim's shot was like a tailender and Imrul indeed is a tailender batting at 3 .

He lives by every ball, so you never know. But, instead of Kayes, they should have sent Soumya at 3 and kept Imrul at 7. Soumya is decent against pace while Kayes can bash spinners.

Tactically, not many BD players should be expected to ply in IPL - sedate top order batsmen, spinners or spin all-rounders are in abundance there; shouldn't block one of 8 foreign quota. It's quite logical that Nabi, Mujib, Shehzad & definitely Rashid should have higher value in T20 leagues. I would have rather liked BD A team to play in Ranji as a proper team, but that's 10-12 years back - now, we are alone and have to grow alone.

Shakib Al Hasan turning it on. On a tricky wicket BANGLADESH got 100 in 20 overs. Shows the power of this batting side. Tricky wicket or not, two pace or not.

These two have decided to slog their way out of trouble - hope it works. I don't think, we have the mind set to fight it out in a slightly difficult wicket. Even if the target is 97, I feel we can win inside 20 overs, but for 4-5 down. Just don't have the batting maturity to play long innings.

Batting depth is good, but don't think the temperament is there. ENG, IND, NZ or SAF would have won it at most 2 down playing clinically boring game, we managed to make a match out of WIN bowling and still there is a twist left, I am afraid.

BD moving towards the win here in first ODI , in this series a 3-0 will be good achievement considering West Indies recently won a match and tied one in India few weeks back

Shakib was in t20 mode. Every ball tried to hit it. This isn't a flat track, there is two pace to it. Shakib needs to tone it down and see the team home safely. Over done the attacking.

Hands down Mushfiq is the best wk batsman in Asia in ALL formats. I mean is there an instance where he has failed. Whenever i see him bat, he always gets them runs.

666666 Sarkar what a shot. That was like Ganguly in 2002/3 natwest series final, I remember hitting a 6 like that

I am not watching this game but well played Liton Das & Soumya Sarkar. We need to persist with these two instead of overrated and tried failures like Sabbir Roman and Mossadek

I still wanna see Sarkar bat at the top, got to be top 3 if not opening due to left right combo. Sarkar plays pace better than all in BD maybe tied with TAMIM but SS is more dangerous against pace bowlers and batting top end allows him more room to go over the top play his big shots and he can take advantage well. On flat wickets batting first I'd have Sarkar at 3 drop KYes and play saifuddin

5 down, still hope that Mash won't be needing today .... with bat. Soumya has been done by Chase all 3 times in this - identically : C 1st Slip, B R Chase.

That's why I see hollow in his upper chamber.

This wicket. When you chase it you go out. All Mash's wicket were when batsmen chased him. BD inning, TAMIM Shakib Sarkar chased it outside off - got out. This isn't a wicket to wanting to meet the ball all the time. Leave few wide off, well ahead of rrr. No need to enforce the play.

50 for Mushfiqur Rahim. Gun player. I'd appreciate him even more if he batted at 3 and solved the long time issue that it has been for BD at #3 position. Rahims technique , temperament all essentials needed IDEAL for ODI #3.

Won't work - he is more closer to Javed than Greg , so No. 4 is best position for him. The best guy to bat for us at 3 in ODI is Tamim - Soumya & Liton opens, Tamim at 3, Mushi 4. But, I don't think the idea of plying your most complete batsman at 3 would penetrate the skull of BCB.

Apart from kohli, Smith, Williamson and root, I don't think there is any other middle order batsman in the world who is better than mushy.

He has single handedly has won so many matches for us that I have lost count of it. Amazing player

Sowmya should only open. Seems to prefer pace. At the world cup I think BD should have a top 5 of

    Sowmya
    Tamim
    Mush
    Liton
    Mahmudullah

    And hope for the best.
